garrus Well I wanna kill some reapers, don't I?
shep You'll kill me . Never mind reapers.
So we can't get the ending we want after all?

I am confused at every ones agitation over the ending of ME3. Yes we were able to control the outcome of the first 2 games to a certain extent, but not entirely. It is stated in the beginning of the game that there is no way of knowing what could happen if the Crucible is used.
The reward of no longer fearing a reaper invasion was enough to decide to use the Crucible, even though using it could have just as easily wiped out all life in the galaxy as it could have stopped the reapers. I am disappointed that even if Shepard lives he can not see his friends again, but he stopped the reapers which is the whole purpose of the game.
You all seem to expect to be able to have what ever ending you want regardless of the designers and creators ideas. Why should they change their IP just to appease you? These games are all the product of their creativity and design process. Why should you that sit around and play the game deride them for their ideas and decisions. It only makes any that whine about the ending seem like self-righteous brats that feel entitled to something for nothing.
Yet regardless of how great the rest of the game was and how great the other 2 were, all you can do is whine and complain about the last 5 min of a game. I feel sorry for the gaming industry if this is the type of customer they will have to continue pandering too.
If game designers and publishers are constantly fearing offending one group or another they will try to hard to produce a game that appeases everyone and pleases no one.
Had to seperate your post, because it was rather confusing. Please, refrain from posting "walls". We would like to read your posts, which tends to be hard when not broken up.
I have to ask though, you think we should just accept whatever companies sell to us?
Think about that for a moment. The path you advocate is just to accept whatever is dished out to you.
Which...no...just, no. The quality of the product must match advertisement and pre-release promises, and must be of a decent standard to charge as much as BioWare/EA has been charging for their games.
Same idea is behind this; If you are advertised a 2012 BMW, but when you buy it are given a 1979 Datsun sedan, you have every right to complain. The principle of the matter is the exact same.
Gamers did not get what they were promised. The ending is dreadful story telling, no matter how you look at it. And companies seem to think they can get away with just handing out crap.
Now, it is your choice to be a "fanboi" and give in to what gaming companies want, but we won't. And lets not forget, these people aren't creating works of art to hang on your wall, they are creating a product which they sell to make more money...thats all there is to it...and any argument against that is invalid due to one thing, DLC. After all, DLC is like selling the Mona Lisa without her face, and making you charge to buy the face to finish it.

One of these days I'm going to make the meaniest FemShep ever...but then I'll end up killing her at the end of ME2...

The game cost 80 dollars. That's not nothing.
I'm not entitled to a well written game, but Bioware isn't entitled to my money either. They can keep their artistic integrity and I'll keep my cash.
Bioware may be entitled to their "artistic vision", but they aren't entitled to have everyone praise them. *snip* Fans are entitled to deride bad writing, especially when they paid for it.
plus..
There was a alot in this game besides the ending that sucked hard, the ending's simply the most unforgivable.
Yeah, also what we're doing is not in any way shape or form "new" to gaming. In this case we may even have more of a right since we've been (to paraphrase a certain senior developer) "part of the creative process of these games", much less considering how we were PROMISED innumerable times X this or Y that, and what do we get? -X, and -Y. Developers of any product cannot simply say "YOU WILL GET 'X' " and then not deliver on their promise. We, in society, have rules for such things. Mercedes cannot come out and say, "Yes, the next 600 will have a V12 standard, and go from 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds." and then when we get it we realize there's an inline 4 and it goes 0 to 60 in 34 seconds... That doesn't fly, why should this?
The 'art' arguement is a smokescreen; the Art Card does not allow you to lie to your customer. We were blatently lied to. Please explain to me how that's okay?

Same here, especially in Mass Effect 3. In the previous installments, you had the renegade options thrown in, often yielding comic relief. In the third game, it wasn't fun to be evil, it was just evil. Paragon/Paragade all the way!

edit: the dark side also had this to say

"Yep. Lets fix it so everyone will love us for it"
"Ok but are you sure we won't set a precedent"

It's been thrown out, not that I agreed with it in the first place, Bioware have continued to allow protest over the ending on their own forums, I am unable to continue playing because of the ending, but that does not make me want to go out a sue them, in my opinion it was a bad move on that persons part.darthoptimus003 wrote...
