I never played Overlord. Reckon it'd help patch up the ending-kick-in-the-gut?

I played Overlord 2, part of me feels bad for being evil but the other part of me finds it such a funny game!

Hah? Help the ending? Overlord was good. Not allpowerful.

But yea. It was a great DLC the ending of which (no pun or whatever intended) was a very powerful thing. It had me staring in open mouthed horror at my screen at what was revealed. (I have yet to meet a renegade Shep that took the Renegade option of the Overlord mission.)

Lol it's going to get to the point where we're going to have to start organizing reunions Image IPB

Haha you're right, after this mess is all done with (whether it's good or bad) we will probably all want to have "The Big BSN Reunion of 2013" lol.

Y'know I was actually thinking that maybe someone sometime should make a thread in here for us to all just meet up and chat about any old nonsense we want without getting shut down for being off topic.

Overlord 1 was much better (But they were referring to the DLC Phoenix)

Got to admit the mission was really amazing, though flying around on that stupid little flying thing (can't remember the name of it) bored me to death lol.

I will however openly admit that the end of that mission had me in tears, I couldn't believe that swine would do such a thing to his own brother.:crying:

What we do know is that they've recalled every writer of ME back to work on this project along with most, if not all of the voice actors.

We also know that they're not releasing any other content in these intervening months, months that ME3 is, for all intents and purposes collecting dust on shelves when it should have been impressing new shareholders with numbers on how many people were playing it (logged in of course)

We also know that at this point Bioware is definitely poised to loose money on this, and more importantly we know that THEY know it. ME3 was supposed to be a cash cow they could milk for at least a year. It stands now to be one of, if not the biggest failure of an AAA game in the last decade (if not ever)

So No, we don't know what they're releasing. Which is good from a certain point of view, it leaves Bioware's writers alot of open room to manuever and possibly alter their plans on not changing/altering the ending a TEAM of writers looking at this are probably shaking their heads and looking at their boss like they're crazy telling them "You want me to FIX this???"

But, given all the stuff that we do know expectations are relatively high for this DLC (and lets face it, they can't make it any worse)

And while Bioware's attitude and general tone has definitely made them my least favorite company atm. I don't really care if Bioware gives a rats ass about my opinion. What I care about is the Mass Effect Story. Which deserves a hell of alot more than the ending it got that has put it on the level of a widespread internet joke.

As it stands, Mass Effect DLC (depending on the quality of their "fix") And Dragon age 3 are the last things I will purchase from Bioware. And Dragon age 3 I'll get it used if I get it at all (Again depending on the ending fix)  meaning I still won't be giving Bioware my money.

They've earned themselves emnesty from alot of their former fans. They'll feel it a few years down the road I'm sure.

I am still left wondering whether there is something else that they're going to release, it's just so odd that (Image IPB aside) they feel this is the most satisfying way to close out Commander Shepard's story.

Yeah good point, also not sure anything major is going to happen for a while. Not until BW start releasing info on what the Extended Cut will actually contain.

Haha  Sounds interesting, might take a look. Although of course Dr. Archer already explained everything at Grissom Academy ...

Oh wow, I was wondering why they didn't seem to have an off-topic area around here. Would be neat, but we should make sure not to dilute our posting here so they know we haven't gone away. Gotta say, so far everyone's done an admirable job of staying relatively on-topic while talking about all manner of things under the sun. B)

Ahh. Still like I said. I much prefered Overlord 1.

Overlord 2 is what happens when you change writers.

Overlord 1 was written by a guy who's name I can't remember right now.

Overlord 2 was written by his daughter, and it fell rather flat because it trully didn't have the same "feel" of the old game. (Though I will admit, the bits with the Fey woman that you end up corrupting were very well done)

Yeah I didn't really mean right away, more like after this mess is all dealt with.

I agree though we do a pretty decent job of talking about anything while staying on topic (most of the time).

I tend to add some random thought about the ending lol.

Like last night I was thinking about the Star Brat's lack of logic, and I honestly still can't get my head around it. Synthetics will always kill Organics so I created Synthetics to kill Organics....ehm huh? lol still don't get why BW thought that made any kind of sense

Patrick Weeks and Mike Gamble's statements at PAX and some tweets from them (I am twitter illiterate unfortunately)

They assured that every writer was being recalled along with the voice actors.

Bioware has of course lied to us in the past *glares at Casey hudson pre-release statements) but that's about as close to "confirmation" that we have that such a thing is happening

I'm modding the hell out of Skyrim. Armor mods, lighting mods, re-texture mods, weapon mods...pretty much everything I can think of. So far, 113 mods installed.

I got Overlord 1 recently but I haven't played it yet - was too busy playing the ME series over and over..... not doing that now so I can give it a try.

I'm not saying its a lie but  I need to see it to believe it because the Tweets and the offical Bioware FAQ are saying to different things.   I trusted BIoware word at face value on things before in the past-  I shall not make the same mistake again
