lol no even the Japanese are taking the ******. There was a video floating around where someone in Japan changed the ending and used "Shepard Strike" or something like that.Mokiki wrote...

Quite right you'll have one kanji meaning tree for example but that word will change depending on the kanji character next to it. You also have multiple pronounciations of the same character which you need to learn as well. If I remember correctly (and Tami feel free to correct me) the majority of Japanese will know around 3000 Kanji.
So you're saying tha the original script of ME3's ending was in japanese and somebody in the translation department got the kanji wrong?

I play on an Xbox, but I don't use a custom Shep. Mine always end up looking terrible for some reason, so I just use default BroShep.xcomcmdr wrote...

I kind of want to know if the face import patch will have the same "effectiveness" on the Xbox as it did on the PC...
(I know, I have to wait until tomorrow, but just wondering who will be getting it tomorrow)
And of course my shep (picture) didn't import (well "only" the face anyway).
I won't know if the patch works until this week end. If I have the courage to fire up ME 3...

Because of the death of the kid. And the reaccuring dream shepard has. So it was actually pretty obvious that the kid had to return during some kind of emotional climax.

As a flimsy pretext that introduces and then "explains" a totally new concept less than 10 minutes from the end of ME3

A- Bioware is a bunch of morons... doubt it
B- casey is an idiot... highly likely
C-EA is the western equivalent of final phatansy, proven that they will buy out their competition in faustian bargains. Giving large amount of reasources to the new acquired companies in exchange for their ... artistic input when it does matter. And EA knows a thing or two about shelling out games continously for profit.
if I had to bet. EA wanted an ending as wide as possible to cash in dlc's... future spin offs etc etc etc.
Remember, whether we like to or not. Most videogamers are idiots. NOT ALL MIND YOU. but most are. Like voters, just with a temper. They might have miscalculated how many gamers weren't idiots who had a vested interest in ME3. It will still be left to the future to see how this plays out.

I think it was a badly thought out way to try and explain the Reaper's motivation, which we didn't necessarily need explained. They were big and scary and trying to kill everyone, I don't need to know that they weren't hugged as baby Reapers and have daddy issues - they just needed to be stopped. Doesn't tiger mean like 10 different things if it has an extra scribble?... I mean spanish and all its acents is annoying but Japanese... I got through the hiragana and katana once. THat was easy just memory but the rest... the kanji.... jesus christ have mercy on them japs. No wonder they are so freacking smart. They gota learn that weird language from birth of course math is easy.
I think learnign japanese is one of the reason they become so good and memory oriented tasks. Might be their culture, but now I think is their language... Learning japanese as a kid ....wow
Haha, I went to elementary school in Japan, so I learned the Japanese characters before the english alphabet. No idea how it looks like to "foreigners", since it always made sense to me...(I can tell you how the alphabet looked like to me, though. It made absolutely no sense)
Also, yeah, 3000 is the average. An average Japanese person cannot read a newspaper article, fyi.
And this is the video:

Ok, I'm going to try to steer this a bit more on topic before we get shut down: Was it ever explained that in the ME universe if they used universal translators? I know I just automatically assumed that, but does anyone know if it was ever actually explained?
I've also wondered about that... I recall that Shepard mentioned her translator some time in ME2, though I haven't really heard it explained futher. Since everyone seems to understand everyone everywhere in the unvierse, uh, I wonder in what form they have their translators. Is it like.. implanted in their heads or something? I keep wondering about that..

Like in the good old horror movies, the bad guys didn't need much motivation. They were badass, unkillable, and just didn't give a ****... Leatherface, Jason, Michael Myers...
