I know it was probably discussed a few hundred pages back, but it now just hits me.
What happened with the charity drive??

The guy who started it capped it at $80,000 because he was getting overloaded with emails and stuff and then Child's play cut everything off because Penny Arcade, their founders, didn't like us using their charity as a beacon to our movement (especially since they disagreed with it lol)

No, Childs Play asked for the charity drive to be wound down because people were mistaking them as being part of the retake movement in some form. As a Charity Child's Play could not be seen to be supporting another group that was working to an agenda that had nothing to do with what Child's Play had been set up for.

Basically Child's Play was being placed in a difficult position where their charity status could have been questioned, or even potentally revoked.

Child's play stated that they understood what retake was trying to do, and as far as I know have NEVER indicated they disagreed with what retake was trying to do. Comments and/or opinions of individual members from Child's Play are/were tyhe comments of the individual and NOT those of the charity itself.

Nah the founders of Penny Arcade came out a day or two later about the reasoning and the new rules behind donating to Child's Play.  (Gotta love a charity that has rules about who can donate to it)

It was because they get lots of donations from gaming companies, which well outstrips anything we could raise. It put them in an awkward position as they want donations from anyone, but they feared that gaming companies would be put off donating to a charity that supported a movement against the biggest of gaming companies, EA. They said that we can feel free to donate to the charity still, but not in the name of the movement.

Well all I havevto say all of us have to write more letters to bioware wit ideas. We can't stop! !!
Even if you people wrote one or 2 emials just send more ...
they constantly need to be reminded that we are here to stay until this isxfixed.
Although recent tweets from Jessica and crew suggest that I theory is being looked at and thetchavent ruled nothing out.
I personally think that along the way working on it they will keep expanding it ..etc ..
Until it will get very big ...and will include choices

Remember summer finishes 21st of September and if it gets even bigger might be pushed back.
the more feedback wecsend and more presence we show the better.

And that makes it better? haha..... I don't really care, my donation is going to a good cause..
But I guarantee no company would cut off donations because a customer base complained and used it as a protest beacon... that would be horrible PR.  It seemed more like they were miffed that the internet didn't just line up behind them and agree like it usually does, and then used their charity to highlight something they disagreed with lol.  I'm sure it was ego.

I think the internet's become full of various reaper factions with their own versions of indoctrination.... personally I prefer the Bethesda, Rockstar and Valve Versions... I've broken the Bioware version's hold.  But the Bethesda version.. it's something about the elder scrolls music.... it just makes you happy and content.  Don't fight it... fight the Daedra.

Hi all :) Don't know if this has been posted yet, just found it in another BSN thread. It's a good read from Gamefront.

I had not read that one yet.  It is a GREAT article!  It really explains why there was such a lovefest for Weekes' "unofficial" interview with a fan.  Man, I hope Bioware is seeing press like this.

edit:  I am dumb at links
Edit X3:  I am still dumb at links =(

Anyone else getting some kind of satisfaction from seeing EA's stock just go down and down and down?

Considering how they treat their customers I do think it's nice to see at the moment.

Just watched Mr. Btongue's new video

Not going to lie, a very small part of me had some hope going in that he would have helpful relevant advice for fans on how to better comunicate with BW that they are losing me as a customer forever.

Sadly he did not.

Still a very good view, I recommend it.

Yup haha.

As an organisation, Child's Play has guidelines regulating how money is raised (Child's Play can't be used to sell anything, for instance). Since Retake ME3 technically fell within the boundaries of the charity's existing framework, Holkins has created a new rule to prevent future misunderstandings: "Child's Play cannot be a tool to draw attention to a cause. Child's Play must be the Cause."

Reply to Sagevallant :

No ...lol
Just reality man ...this dlc will come out towards end of the year.
I would love us to keep pressure and be here inact.
Which means as we are or more of us.
Enthusiasm will turn into mundane andxthsn into boredom and people will move on.
This is just a beginning.
Icwant all of us to somehow incorporate this into our life without this killing our daily life if it explains it better.
Sorry writing fr mobile so many spelling mistakes.

I like Jessica, but her Twitter is about as reliable as Joker during the ending.

I really do hope that Bioware include things like this, the fact that the relays are rebuilt and that no-one starves in the EC, because those are the main problems with the ending.

"A Form You Are Comfortable With." Or can be manipulated by, one way or the other.

Part of the reason that the indoctrination theory works is because Shepard is either destroying part of the Crucible or just suiciding himself in all the endings. Seems like inconvenient interface to me.

Rather have an ending where he's succeeded and just peacefully slumps over next to Anderson. :crying:

Jessica Chobot's talking about Allers having a new hairstyle in the extended cut.. dunno how serious she's being though haha. Still would be cool to have more voice acting by her, I would have liked to see that arc play out.

Honestly no,

I really, really wanted Bioware to change the ending/add to the ending ala Broken Steel.  Then after a month of stalling they refused.  Politely.

I mean I do want BW and EA to suffer for mistreating their fans.

Frankly if there's one thing that I've learned from all this, its that EVERYBODY lost.  Fans get stuck with a bad ending.  Bioware gets their name ruined and their sales slashed.  And Bioware fans probably lose their favorite developer.

But what I really wanted was what I thought they would do, what Bioware always seems to do when all hope is lost.

Come up with a third option to solve everything.
