Anyone else getting some kind of satisfaction from seeing EA's stock just go down and down and down?
Considering how they treat their customers I do think it's nice to see at the moment.
Honestly no,
I really, really wanted Bioware to change the ending/add to the ending ala Broken Steel. Then after a month of stalling they refused. Politely.
I mean I do want BW and EA to suffer for mistreating their fans.
Frankly if there's one thing that I've learned from all this, its that EVERYBODY lost. Fans get stuck with a bad ending. Bioware gets their name ruined and their sales slashed. And Bioware fans probably lose their favorite developer.
But what I really wanted was what I thought they would do, what Bioware always seems to do when all hope is lost.
Come up with a third option to solve everything.
Another fear is that even if everyone ends up getting everything they want it'll panic both EA and BW into never wanting to touch the ME universe ever again, and that would be a great shame.
Given the current state of affairs, and the tweets they've made about their clarification (which somehow depresses me more) I'm not entirely sure that's a bad idea. I mean most of the franchises I grew up with are at this point merely shadows of their former selves.
Call of Duty
Ghost Recon
Splinter Cell- Seeing that franchise take a nosedive has been painful.
Command and Conquer- Dear God EA why did you do that?
Halo hasn't gotten painful yet, although I fear with Halo 4 it could.
Civ is on the brink
The only franchise I can think of that's held up for a long period of time is the Elder Scrolls, and that's released 3 games in the time since I started playing video games. So I'm not sure EA and Bioware keeping their hands of the ME universe for a few years say 5 or 6 would be a terrible idea.
Granted that's what I would have wanted before the ending.
