Me and about 4 of my friends went to gamestop the other day looking for games to buy. Our conversations would have thrown anyone off. The four of us talking about different tittles and then putting the games back at the EA logo saying "whelp not going to get that one its made by EA".

would the feeling we got after that be worth the risk?

Heavy risk...but the priiiiiize... :wizard:

In all seriousness, assuming they managed to get "permission" to admit they screwed up and fix the game's ending to something proper (I'd rather there be a "refuse" option than this all being a sympton of indoctrination, but YMMV), and they did, I would be ecstatic. I would take back every bad thing I ever said about BioWare/EA and sing their praises.

I really would. And I would get myself lost in the game once more.

I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall for that. See, the same thing goes for me; after reading the pathetic excuse for a press release announcing the "extended cut" I resolved to never buy another EA or BioWare product again.

Unless and until they actually admit their missteps and lies and whatnot and made the effort to fix this. I'd wait a year for a proper fix and would gladly shell out a few bucks.

Not to this degree. They've pissed off alot of people and have gotten a lot of bad publicity.

You could be right with the thought that at this point they really have no choice but to roll with it, but either way they've taken a hit. And ME now stands on the edge of either becoming a legendary sci-fi or another Matrix trilogy flop.

This is not what this series deserves at all.

Yea wound up getting the new MK. Its been a really long time since I played any of the MK stuff. I was surprised the I remembered some of the moves. Grr to just think that I could be running one of my 5 sheps threw ME3. Instead I got a new game from an old IP. Seems kinda ironic to me

Indeed.

Sony Online Entertainment didn't have a very good rep going into SWG, and anyone on Wookieepedia can tell you how much they cared about established canon. Never mind the fact that SWG was an MMO and ME is a series of single-player action-RPGs.

Hopefully, they'll make the Crucible part less plot-holy ? Maybe?

Since they're not retconning anything they've done, really, we might just get a possibility to have a good ending (build a house on Rannoch?), and a bad ending, instead of the genericness of the actual ending(s) :?

 I’m taking a bit of
the before mentioned giant post I made, the part criticizing the ending, to generally
point out why a couple of cutscenes will not alone
fix  what is quite possibly
the most broken piece of storytelling ever.

The ending we got
makes no sense, and it doesn’t take any effort to explain why. It introduces
aspects to the story that weren’t even hinted at earlier on, and gives us
statements about organics and synthetics that is not only proven patently false
from our experience in the game, but are also based in this ludicrous circular
logic. There is no option given to refuse it, and prove that such a statement
has no basis regarding our cycle (One being the basic fact that we’ve outlawed
AI’s in the first place). We must wipe out organic life with synthetic reapers
to prevent organics to create synthetics which will wipe them out… right. Why
not just wipe out the synthetics that those organics create?

And why are we left with three choices that appear no matter what you do? You
could play the game like a total dunce with minimal allies, or with an EMS
score of 8,000, it doesn’t matter. You cure the Krogan genophage, doesn’t
matter. You reunite the Geth and Quarians, it doesn’t matter. You have to show
up, and then seemingly do the Reapers’ bidding for them. Why is this something
that Shepard would do? He/she would reject these under all circumstances, as
has been done all series. But alas, all you get is the same ending cinematic,
with a different coloured explosion based on whatever choice you were forced
into making.

Also, the symbolism they were going for is just so forced. The idea that the
galaxy has to be reset back to the dark ages regardless of what you chose? That
only works if the galaxy needed saving before the Reapers showed up. I dunno, it
seemed pretty damn idyllic to me. And having the Normandy crash land on some
garden planet so it could show Joker and EDI in some Adam and Eve situation…
It’s all to showcase this clean slate new beginnings bull that they were trying
to push, as if it reflects back on the story in some meaningful way. It
doesn’t. It actually does the opposite. To take the idea from whomever it was
that came up with it, the entire Mass Effect series was about accepting
differences, and uniting for a single purpose. The strength that was there in
this army that wasn’t there in past cycles was based in this diversity. The
Protheans fell because they had all the other races subservient to their own
empire. So when the reapers came, they were easier to pick apart. The synthesis
option there decides that the only way peace can be achieved is by literally
eliminating all the differences we were seemingly fighting to protect… bull.
Pure bull. Contradicts almost everything the series was supposed to be about.

I can’t even begin to get into how this ending makes everything said and done in
Mass Effect 1 and 2 utterly pointless. There’s too much to say. But just think
back to the plot in Mass Effect 2. Does any of it make any sense? Have any
purpose at all anymore? Why bother with the collectors and the human reaper? Think
about it.

Also one thing about
the destroy and synthesis options, how is it that they failed to see the long
term validity of such a situation? In both you see the end of synthetics,
thereby satisfying the apparent need to quell the eventual rising by them to
overthrow the organics. However, what’s to stop the organics (or in the case of
synthesis, cyborgs) from building synthetics all over again. Organics will get
lazy again, and will create new synthetics out of metal parts to do their work
for them. It’s as simple as that. Hell, I’m sure the space magic didn’t wipe
out all the blueprints to create them, so why not start right away if they felt
like it. What was solved again?

Also, why does Shepard have to die? That’s what I keep hearing from people “If
you played the game and saw what you had to face, you would see that Shepard
has to die”. That’s bull. To quote some guy on the internet again, why is there
an idea that Shepard HAS to _______ , in a game like Mass Effect? Also, how is
there supposed to honour and a sense of accomplishment for a sacrifice, when
it’s not something you chose to do. It’s so horribly forced. For anyone that’s
played Dragon Age: Origins, you can look to the ending of that. As the Warden,
the final sacrifice is something you can choose to do, and if done, it carries
with it meaning, and justifies it being the end of your story. There’s none of
that present in Mass Effect 3’s ending. You go out with what is not a bang, but
probably the biggest whimper in videogame history.

(I managed to say all that without
even referring to the catalyst/star child once, lol.)

Hah!

Can't say that I like fighting games, though. Maybe I'd get CoD:MW3 from Activision just to prove a point, but then I've already bought Battlefield 3 last December...

going by what Gamble said, for those that missed it https://twitter.com/...481533239865344
the blue option could possibly be the paragon option although i
strongly disagree with doing anything TIM would have wanted to do as
that is not a paragon action right from the start and strongly believe
the red lightshow is  the only option/ i do not want my shepard
dieing/the Catalyst is lieing  to you about the red lightshow killing
the geth https://twitter.com/...165315916177411
and you and EDI for that matter, hell its even lieing when it says the
relays will always blow up if you go by what Gamble says about the blue
lightshow, put simply, the damn thing is a liar and should not be
trusted nor believed

it could technically be considered the
paragon option because the relays could possibly be fixed rather quickly
(perhaps) seeing as they are intact and appear to be either without
energy/temporarily disabled, watch this
and you will see that it appears the energy is only depleted from the
relay and the energy being discharged is causing a little bit of damage
to
only the exterior of the relay, the relay itself is left intact where
as in every other screen it shows it actually coming apart, why  it
could be considered paragon is because like i said above there is a
really good chance they can be fixed and therefore not everyone will be
 trapped
in the sol system forever and die out, galatic civilization could
recover a bit quicker, the citadel remains, the energy doesn't seem as
deadly as the beams in the other screens, and maybe even the Normandy
crew can be rescued before they all die out so you made a sacrifice to
possibly save the  many and your LI+crew(paragon)

I personally
believe the pretty red beam is the only way to go, you can live and in
the extended ending DLC I’m hoping for reuniting with Tali and seeing
some choices actually play out(insert whoever/whatever your expecting!
lol) Also having said that I can see why the red
beam is possibly a
renegade move though, (I disagree completely with what im about to say
but i think some can interpret it this way possibly) you sacrifice the
relays (possibly geth/EDI too, but again ive said my opinion on that
matter) for yourself to possibly live and reunite with crew+LI, you take
a gamble that the relays can be fixed (they have blown apart though so
that should be quite the feat) and fleets at Earth are possibly screwed
unless the miracle with the relays is pulled off in time/better FTL
travel upgrades come along, and just because I’ve mentioned these things
for two of the colors, the green option, is a paragade/renegon choice
(it’s a renegade IMO, it is morally evil!!!!!) not really much else to
say about green since i can honestly say that i cant think of ANYTHING
positive about it, this is just another attempt at my trying to
understand the endings/add a (i hope) new look at two of them going by
the colors that surround the areas(the beam area is white which IMO
signifies a neutral choice but like i said green is evil) lol

And also as a side note, when i got to the end and was picking the red
beam, i can say with all honesty the minute i saw the Joker flashback
appear i was expecting to see Tali (my LI who is the reason/who my shep
fights for)  appear at some point, to my surprise there was Liara
staring back at me instead, while a minor issue to some i was puzzled
why this occurred, my shep would be thinking of tali in his possible
last moments, then i find only ME1 interests get flashbacks while
everyone else defaults to Liara, this disappoints me, it seems to
further suggest that this pic was what they thought of  ME2 LI's http://28.media.tumb...94e9jo1_500.gif
(garrus and tali are exempt from that due to being on the Normandy and
squad/having beautifully written romances, only problem being the
flashback) I've PM'd Chris and Jessica about flashbacks for ME2 LI's and
will get back on that when/if i get an answer lol

and because
the only thing i've mentioned about the Catalyst is that he's flat out
lieing to you im going to tear into his logic for a moment which is
quite easy, why would someone so stuck in his logic he can't accept that
organics and synthetics could get along(geth and quarians working
together literally in front of him in space) allow you to break the
cycle with any of the options (his cycle)? his job is to PREVENT a
"singularity event" from happening, funny thing is with every choice you
have available he is helping to increase the chance of said event
happening, civilization will be left at a higher advanced state than
after previous cycles. Also id like to mention one of my enormous
plotholes with TIM, how in the hell did he get ships through the Omega 4
relay without a reaper IFF and salvage anything from the base i
destroyed (how did he get there if it was left intact too)? there is
more but i figure ive already mentioned enough to discuss  lol.......let
the specul...... i mean discussions begin!!

i want a better ending for mass to, but if it was planed would it be remembered as even more legedary becouse of the passion of its fans(with a better ending of course) bioware could turn this around "the company that makes games so epic their fans become the game, live the game love the game,

your right about it being on the edge, bioware now have a chance to make mass trully legendary. i for one hope they take it
