Actually if what they are saying on twitter is to be believed it seems they are sort of quietly reconning some things, like the destroy option destroying all synthetics.

Can't believe people voted to say EA is worse than GS... I guess they liked GS employees rummaging in their gameboxes, taking out codes. Maybe they call it "quality assurance". I never even looked at their website, ever since their customer support suggested I'll fly to america to pick up my copy of ME2 . And people actualy dare to complain about EA CS... EA CS isn't great but it isn't as thickheaded as GS's. Repeatadly being told by different representatives that if I hope to get a preorder code, I need to cross the atlantic... because apperantly they didn't hear about a little thing called the INTERNET and EMAIL...
Thankfully, at that case BW stepped in and fixed things (I'm hoping there were screamings and questioning the mental faculties of gamestop customer services representatives). Never even tried to buy another thing from GS.

See, the main reason I doubt this was planned is because they're starting things from scratch.

If at Pax they would have told us, it'll be out by the end of the month and I would see a 1 or 2 gig download waiting at the end of the month then fine, I can buy the thought that this was all part of the plan.

But they're starting from scratch. Both Shep Voice actors have admitted that they, atm had not been called back to the studio for more voice overs.

That's not something you do when you have a plan to continue the games development and release it "soon" after innitial release.

Their statements MIGHT alude to the contrary, but their actions so far point to the fact that they genuinely thought that this whole ending thing would just fly by with a few disgruntled fans but otherwise be widely accepted by people like Lost and The Sopranos. People ****ed but they still enjoyed the series more or less.

So yea, like I said it stands on the edge of the knife and if their statement of not changing ANYTHING about the ending at all, and merely expanding on it is true, ME dies a quick death ten feet from the proverbial finishline.

@g_bassi13 something you mentioned that i left out of my post was something i didn't get as well, you could literally do hardly anything and beat the reapers/have like a ridiculous amount of EMS where you figure the reapers will get decimated and it doesnt matter, "oooo i got such and such EMS rating, now i get to be morally evil and merge synthetics and organics against their will" that is not a reward.....

That's ambiguous, that part about retconning. I understand they won't kill off the synthetics, but those were lies of the Child. IF you thought at first that he was lying, showing the synthetics not dead wouldn't be a retcon. Beside, they showed it no? Shep's mainly synthetic at that point, yet when you choose the destroy ending, he's shown breathing. It tells me they knew where they were going with that part, maybe...

I liked it back when the biggest flame wars were caused by people posting pictures of Alien face hugger for Tali's actual face... before it was all about the ending

True. I mean if during my playthrough Tali would have killed herself because of a failed rannoch mission. I'd have shut down my console and never touched that game again. Because I'd have failed as a human being.

@g_bassi13 i also agree with your shepard having to die part, i think thats ridiculous, the option should be there like you said was in DA:O, i should be able to live if i choose die if i want to, there is no honor in being forced into suicide/sacrifice, the choice to do so for the greater good is what brings honor

But in another way, it would be cheap for those who wanted MShep with Garrus 

I mean, they'll either please everyone by adding those choices, or please none by taking neither.

EMS=Space magic... or something. It all rolls back to how insignificant everything we did up to that point became.
