i want a better ending for mass to, but if it was planed would it be remembered as even more legedary becouse of the passion of its fans(with a better ending of course) bioware could turn this around "the company that makes games so epic their fans become the game, live the game love the game,
your right about it being on the edge, bioware now have a chance to make mass trully legendary. i for one hope they take it
See, the main reason I doubt this was planned is because they're starting things from scratch.
If at Pax they would have told us, it'll be out by the end of the month and I would see a 1 or 2 gig download waiting at the end of the month then fine, I can buy the thought that this was all part of the plan.
But they're starting from scratch. Both Shep Voice actors have admitted that they, atm had not been called back to the studio for more voice overs.
That's not something you do when you have a plan to continue the games development and release it "soon" after innitial release.
Their statements MIGHT alude to the contrary, but their actions so far point to the fact that they genuinely thought that this whole ending thing would just fly by with a few disgruntled fans but otherwise be widely accepted by people like Lost and The Sopranos. People ****ed but they still enjoyed the series more or less.
So yea, like I said it stands on the edge of the knife and if their statement of not changing ANYTHING about the ending at all, and merely expanding on it is true, ME dies a quick death ten feet from the proverbial finishline.
THATS what gets me, developers think were all like tv fans on shows like lost and the sopranos.
what they do forget was the huge backlash the ppl who made those shows recived, did you know HBO and ABC had to refund SKY tv in the uk for doing the endings as they did as they LOST a TON of customers because of it and that was ONLY in the uk.
now toss in fans around the world the backlash they gave HBO AND ABC and ever since then every new show those 2 have produced since then have been met with luke warm receptions because of those 2 shows.
developers need to stop getting into the pop culture of tv series endings for a trilogy, imagine this was a big budget movie trilogy and it ended exactly like that, i know for a FACT ppl would be wanting refunds and the cinemas WILL need to refund them then maybe toss in the riots and then financial implications from the studios and so on.
the director and the ENTIRE crew would be blacklisted all over the world and thats them, no job, no money NOTHING all because the director claimed "artist integrity" and then the director will be doing a mel gibson and go into a spiral of drugs and alcohol abuse.
video games are:-
NOT MOVIES
NOT TV SHOWS
NOT MUSIC
NOT ART
NOT BOOKS
NOT MIMES
video games are a MIX of all of the above BUT THEY ATE NOT ART
mass effect started as a great series, the 1st game started the basis of the story which was about the reapers and dark energy, the 2nd one explaned about both even more ...... from there on the story took a twist.
the 3rd game was about the reaper invasion but there was NO MENTION of dark energy anywhere, after recent events bioware have even changed the LORE of the series, heres a prime example.
mass effect 2 :The Arrival DLC it was stated, shown and reinforced that destroying a mass relay causes an explosion that can wipe out and ENTIRE SOLAR SYSTEM and destroying all the planets, as EDi said in the game "there is nothing left in that solar system shepard"
fast forward to yesterday where i THINK it was Gamble that said "the relays are only disabled"
uuuuhhh rrrrrright so why did in ALL the ending colours it showed the relays EXPLODING then it shows a galaxy typr map showing all the relays exploding which means we just killed the entire universe.
but NNOOOOOO according to the "NEW" recent lore relays cannot be destroyed now but only "damaged".
bioware is turning ME3 into a bigger joke now
all we wanted was AN EXTRA ENDING NOT A WHOLE CLUSTER**** OF CLARIFICATION CRAP THAT BASTERDIZES THE WHOLE FRANCHISE
