Ok, i know im running a bit late on this but i finished the campaign a few times by now so i thought id give my opinion (for what is worth).

The game itself is amazing, has plenty of amazing and even heartbreaking moments on it, and the multiplayer is actually very enjoyable. My main (and probably only) beef with the game is the fact that we were told that every choice we made mattered in the game. Everything we went through from the first and second games, every decision we made, every choice we took, would have consequences by the end of the third game. That wasnt the case. Pretty much in the end you feel like everything you did was pretty much for nothing, its just tossed out of the airlock and ignored. Why bother uniting the geth and the quarians, the turians and the krogan, if in the end no matter how many armies you bring the result is always the same? Now im not saying that i wanted a happy ending (although i wouldnt mind finishing the game by laying at the beach sharing a couple of beers with Garrus), im just saying that i think we were entitled to a bit more variaty of choice, not just "blow the relays no matter what you did/choose/accomplished".

Plus, there are several plot holes that simply spoil the ending for most people.

Anyway, thats pretty much my two cents on the matter of the endings. Love the game, very disapointed with the ending.

I mean if Jessica is right then they're already starting the retcon as I'm pretty sure I remember star child specifically claiming that ALL synthetics would die. Nowhere did he seem to suggest it was reaper tech only. I think he specifically mentioned the Geth as being in that category.

@Mr. Bond, i don't understand why a lot of people actually believe everything the starchild says is set in stone/he is truthful when he's anything but truthful, he's got his plan that you can possibly undo(destroying the reapers, his solution thats been around for a very long time) and now he's suddenly ready to say to hell with this? No, like someone said earlier he's like a salesman, starts with the worst and goes to what he wants you to do at the end, he's going to do everything he can to mislead you

Maybe the Catalyst didn't know EDI would be able to survive it.

When you have a high enough EMS, the Crucible doesn't harm anything besides anything with actual Reaper tech in it.

EDI's code is based on Reaper code, not made from it. Sovereign's black box of viruses was given to her to help her own cyberwarfare suites improve like a vaccine does antibodies. There's no actual reaper code or tech in her AI Core, and arguably none in her mobile platform. Otherwise EDI would have considered it a risk to have aboard the Normandy as most Reaper tech indoctrinates.

The Geth were different as they actually integrated Reaper code to upgrade their intelligences to gain true consciousness and enhance their combat abilities. Even moreso if you rewrote the heretics in ME2.

Oh yeah I think most of us went through that. When I beat it, I immediately hopped online to see if I was just too dumb to figure out what was going on. I was glad to see that I was far from alone and that alot of people felt the ending did much to invalidate the experience of the entire trilogy

Exactly. Why did people believe him so easily? He's just a ghost image of some kid who died on Earth who is also the same kid Shepard has been having nightmares about. So, what makes him credible? Nothing. Except that he tells you he is credile. Ha. ha. ha.

I had assumed he meant Reapertech as Legion had upgraded the Geth with Reaper code, so in Destroy they would be shutdown. EDI specifically says in ME2 she is made from tech scavenged from Sovereign, which is also Reapertech (obviously). Therefore, by the end of ME3 all named synthetics have just enough Reapertech that Destroy would, well, destroy them. If he meant just synthetics in general I'm pretty sure all VIs would have gone too, which (if I remember my Codex right) means most powersuits (upgrades to your armor mention onboard VIs) and military tech would be rendered inoperable; this includes some spaceship systems.

So the endings are now even more bleak, thanks.
