In my opinion, mass effect is a series of games made to make a short movie. We all know this though because its a RPG. Was it made clear that this was the last Mass Effect or the last game dealing with Shepards Story? Come on people, your the last chance to save the galaxy and your firing a supercharged cannon to save the universe. sacrifice is made for you to feel bad and to save the world. its just like when anderson stayed on earth at the beginning of the game which i believed infered from there that he was going to die eventually. or like the little kid who they get you emotionally involved with as you watch him die as well. the story is based off sacrifices and you made the ultimate one to save the universe. Dont get me wrong i would love to see everything all great but **** happens and you make sacrfices.
It's true that there can't be victory without sacrifice, but it has to mean something. It has to make the ends justify the means. That hou are in fact doung this for the benefit of the galaxy. In Mass Effect it was evident that this was a war that could not be won without loses. People would die, those we didn't want to and those we could not protect everywhere else.
We didn't expect this to be a war of minimal casualties we didn't expect to not have those close to us lose their lives.
We expected to make the choice in the end that would end this threat even if that meant the possibitlity of giving our life to do it. We expected to have a choice in the matter not for it to been chosen for us. Something that went against the goal we were trying to achieve.
This is/was a galatic war and everyone in it was going to be affected, more badly that good, but in the end everyone that died in the game choose to do so doing what they thought was best.
Cant say Shepard got that opportunity when the final time came, no choice in the matter just go with it.
You take that away and all those sacrifices mean nothing.
