Is this cold like when my in-laws complain about it being cold because it's 19 degrees in Brisbane and they're wearing jumpers and have their little fireplace on or proper cold? Image IPB

What qualifies as proper cold for you guys? My opinion's a bit distorted on this department, cold beginning from -25 C , if there's wind.

And unbearably hot starts from 24 C

The usual "cold" here is -10C (or a tad over). Hot here though is...oh, 43C at one stage...but usually around the 35C mark is when it starts to get a tad warmish haha. Then again, humidity is another matter all together <_<

I do miss that about Brisbane but not enough to move back. Brisvegas isn't as exciting as the nickname suggests!

Depends on where in Briss you live...
As for your earlier question, I live in the GDR (Great Dividing Ranges).

Woe be upon me the day when Australian complains about coldness in a thread with a Finn in it

If said Finn was to come to Aust, they'd be complaining about "heat" when the rest of us wouldn't feel it hehe :P
Aclimatisation is such a **** of a thing sometimes.

Not necessarily complain, but I might suffer post-traumatic flasbacks to my last work place. You know, with the heat and humidity (used to work in a hotel laundry service) :P

My in-laws are in Cashmere north of the Ciy and I used to live down on the Gold Coast. It was a nice place to live but nothing much ever seems to happen. Still good fun going back with the kids Image IPB

Ah, my fiance and I will be living not far from Woodridge. So lots of things will be happening...stollen cars, muggings...possibly me setting my great dane on some would-be intruder.

Ah, yeah. Still, experience hotter temps then that...I think it is more the humidity that gets to people. The heat is ok, especially when you get a good breeze. Humidity just makes it hell lol

Ah yes, Logan is a special place. My sister-in-law got married in Maleny last year, now that was an experience. Even my very aussie hubby was waving his phone in the air swearing that he couldn't get a signal Image IPB

Singapore makes you very tolerant of humidity, it generally sits around 98% Image IPB

I'm a little late to the character conversation from the last page, but I just wanted to say that imo Jacob is the worst character in the series. I don't think he could've been more bland if he tried.

Definitely in the minority here, but I didn't mind Jacob at all. I was actually thankful for a normal character -- bland, to some people -- because it felt like they tried too hard to make the rest of the ME2 squad wildly quirky or off the rails in some way.

Lol. I've used those exact words to describe the ME 2 squad to someone in the past. They tried to hard to give everyone a quirk, and that was supposed to equal personality somehow. They all just seemed so cartoonish. Everyone except Miranda, and Jacob (who, again imo, on the filp side was just too bland).

They just don't compare to the ME1 squad. Everyone had a different opinion of the goings on in the galaxy, and you really get a chance to see what's what from so many different points of view. Everyone is just so well rounded. The characters were not just awesome themselves, but they ended up shaping the outline of the game's universe as well.

Honestly, I think the last time Bioware did a good job writing their characters was in Dragon Age: Origins. It used to be a hallmark of their games, but now it almost feels like it's something working against them.

But they really shouldn't have simply cut out the ME2 squad in ME3 like they did. It was a very poor decision. A lazy one.

I reallly liked Mordin though, I thought he was done really well and then they really brought his character through in ME3.

It was probably a necessary evil of sorts given how big the ME2 squad was, but yes, cartoonish is a nice way to describe some of those personalities. The ME1 squad managed to be decent and well-rounded without being caricatures. They were believable.

That said, people loved the ME2 characters and you're right that their having a minimal role in ME3 sucked. In a lot of ways it feels like ME2 was just a diversion on the way to ME3. For one thing, the fact that romance in ME2 was considered cheating always struck me as a bit strange.

I actually grew to hate Mordin in ME2, but he was thoroughly redeemed by his role in ME3.

I thought Mordin was one of the most well written characters in ME2 and thought they did a good job with him into ME3 too. Actually brought a tear to my eye when Mordin died in ME3.

I was pretty indifferent towards Mordin in ME2. Or I guess I remained a little unsure of what his whole deal was. I think ME3 sorted it out very well though. I enjoyed his appearance in the game (I think almost everyone did).

ME3 did end up turning ME2 into a giant sidequest that had no repercussions on anything. That's one thing I keep harping on, because it's no small thing,

The cameos worked well for Mordin and Legion because of how they were worked into the story. But with everyone else, it was just a shotcut. It's an easy way to avoid having to put them in your squad, while also adding a 30-45 minute mission to an already very short game.

The whole ME2 romance equaling cheating thing just goes on a long list of things wrong with the romances in ME3.

Thanks for posting this vid.
I really loved the part where he says "Mass fact didn't have a ending, it just stopped".
Now  this is the best way to describe the ME trilogy's ending.

I had the same feeling. I even expected that some of the ME2 characters would be optional for your squad if they survived the suicede misson (not talking of the guys you also had in 1 like Tali and Garrus).

But even the main vilian in 2, Harbinger, has no real role in ME3.. the only time her really appears are the last secondes bevore you enter the beam.

Really? In the US, we call Black Friday the Friday right after Thanksgiving Day and it's that day when everyone goes shopping in the middle of the night and occasionally a couple of people end up dead.
Today is just Friday the 13th.

I hope you have a great day too! ME3 ending was bad enough; no need for any bad thing this month...or year.
