don't know if this has been posted before, but the level of defensiveness from the BW guys still astonishes me (even after all that we have been through):
http://social.biowar...x/11340267&lf=8

This whole ending debacle is a product of their own creation - if they had just admitted that they messed up, and actually listened, and demonstrated that they are actually fixing the problem, we wouldn't be where we are today.  Of course, if only they had not been so disconnected with what their fans wanted, we would actually have gotten an ending that did Shepard (and us) some justice.  Instead we got... space magic.

And what do you expect them to do?

- They know they have done a bad ending

- They knew that the ending was against all claims prerelase

- They knew that fans would have complained

- They did not expect reactions so unanimous and so many people!

- They have seen their best game to be refound from amazon, and be sold for 14£ in less than a month.

You think they say "Yes we were wrong?" After DA2, SWTOR and ME3  .... I should not wonder if EA is very angry ... they can only defend you understand?

To say that ME3 has got high marks from magazines, said that it sold 3.5 million copies, SAY THAT THE FINAL IS CHOICE ARTISTIC ... is like the child that combines a trouble, and says to his mother "was not me, I'm good"... "i am STARCHILD"

Exactly. I know it's all they're allowed to do. But it's their job, and they have to deal with it. As long as it doesn't go into personal insults and the such.

Angry responses from angry customers is something that comes with the territory. It's not their fault that the product sucks, but again why feel sorry for someone who's just pupetting a bunch of talking points, especially if they're getting paid for it.

The anger is not directed at them, but the whole of Bioware when people read comments like the ones they posted. If they're paid to give answer to the people, and the answers suck, what do you think is going to happen. They're going to have to manage until some good news comes along, and you're right they're probably waiting for it more than we are.

Exactly, it's their job the Internets is not exactly all rainbows, ponies and roses (though maybe it is on this thread :D).  They are gonna need to expect some amount of viterol and tr*lling.  Just get a grip, take a deep breath, don't engage the tr*lls, but do your job and engage the rest of your fans.  It's not rocket science here.  They are the public face of the company and they should be accountable for what they say.

Just peeves me how much the company just doesn't seem to care about its fanbase anymore.  They just seem to want us to go away.  As someone said on another thread, it's a thin line between love and hate, and treating your so-called evangelists in this way is a sure-fire way to kill your brand.  Great brands realise this.  Apple may be arrogant as they come, but they are totally brilliant at keeping their core loyalists (fanatics?) happy... after the iPhone 4 antenna issues cropped up, they started with a bunch of PR speak, but very quickly  issued a solution (free cases for everyone) - less than a month after release.  They realised that they could not even RISK eroding the brand value, and they took quick corrective action to build trust with fans again.  If only BW would take a page out of Apple's playbook, but hey, the rEApers only care about nickle and diming us.

Checking in, holding the line, et cetera. I have to say it gets a little more disappointing each time I pop in and check and see no good news. :-(

Yeah it really does, sucks to go through this.

Also seems absurd to be THIS upset/angry over a game's ending doesn't it?

*hugs* Yeah well I doubt we are going to get any more info until the EC is nearly out or is out.

Wait and see is the mode for now really.

i recall Gamble saying in a tweet awhile back that there wasn't going to be any more news the rest of april and that all they have left to do is "put their heads down and get to it" if im remembering correctly, so pretty much only things we'll hear about are tweets etc lol

No news is good news at this point. Only because we haven't gotten back anything positive in the longest while. Everything we get either confirms our fears, or essentially insults us.

Already posted? Though I suppose half of the thread is subscribing to this guy anyhow :P

He's right about the decision. If we stop buying their products, Bioware itself will die, EA will take them and toss them into another game project (and let them screw that one up too, in my personal opinion). If we keep buying them, then they will understand that the quality dip has no consequence to them, and will continue to make below par games. (Note, I only took the negative from both sides).

It doesn't matter what we do, we run the same risks that we do with either side. The thing is though: The question is NOT "do we want better Bioware games in the future?", the question is "Are you willing to risk the death of Bioware to get better games in the future?". Actually, it's not necessarily that, it's more "Would you like to see the company you've came to respect, trust and love continue to make sub-par games, or would you like to let them rest now?". Regardless of our choice, this can end in tears, if we let them continue their path, we can either expect terrible products (much like the Star Wars franchise is becoming, in some peoples opinions) or brilliant ones, if we stop now, we can either expect Bioware to try to make up for what they've done, or silently fade into the history books (and for their efforts to become the future of another EA/unaffiliated developer game).

Professionally, I will no longer tolerate another knife in the back from EAware. Personally, I want more time, more time to sit and make my decision on what is the right and moral path to go on. I intend to give it 'til the Extended cut, then I shall either stand for pulling them out of the boat or burning it. Whichever decision we, as a community make, we have to expect the risk of bad things going our way. But, as a wise man once said to me: Any decision that's difficult to make, on the grounds of risk, is a good decision.

And on that rather sorrow note, Hold the Line.
Grover and out.

You should've known that space magic is never the answer, lol.

But yeah, the feeling must suck. You kinda assume they couldn't possibly have messed it up as hard as people were saying they did... until you play it for yourself.

Bioware re: the ending - "I wish you could see it the way I do, it's beautiful"

But I was serious though. The way Bioware treated the situation is why the opposition remains as strong as it has,

Mass Effect 3's Failures

- The Ending..........duh of course (no elaboration required)

- Jacob, Kelly, Miranda, Jack, Zaeed, Kasumi, Thane, Shiala, Gianna, Aria, Grunt, Samara, Kal'Reegar, and Sha'ira got completely screwed and or totally forgotten (Ok guys this really really really pissed me off even more so than that bull **** ending, I can always fanfic my own ending but the characters were the most important part to me personally, I would tell Biofail off if i could about this because the whole reason I bought this game and followed all the press crap leading up to its release was to be reunited with everyone again and then go kick some reaper tail and save the galaxy together with them what the *** happened? oh yeah "we did not have the resources" you had the resources in ME2 what happened to those resources? oh boy oh boy that burns me up bad.
All of the ME2 squad were basically cameos except for Garrus and Tali of course that is crap Bioware CRAP, then you completely screw everyone else from there on out. No Shiala except some crappy cheap e-mail, barely any Kasumi, Zaeed, or Aria, you freakin killed Kal' Reegar off screen, Sha'ira and Gianna were non existent, we should have had a choice between Kelly and Treynor like we did with Chawkwas and Chloe, Thane fans got screwed, etc. etc. gosh this pissed me off so bad grrrrrrrrrrrr.

- The sudden need for Multiplayer (come on guys really? you do know they have to dumb down some aspect of the single player game to implement this right? screw what Biofail says, its all about resources and how and where they are used) Adding Multiplayer at this point was simply a fan pleasing move which obviously effected the single player experience and story, say what you want but it did, Bioware can deny it all they want. YUCK

- The Crucible Plot and that epic fail ending (I would have just liked to see the reapers defeated in a big a** space battle, would have been simple and to the point)

- The Soundtrack (not as epic as it should have been, ME1 and ME2 completely destroyed ME3 in this area, and yes it did because for one thing they gave every squad member their own unique theme which I thought was awesome and added to thier overall character. I still have yet to hear an individual theme for Ashley, Liara, Kaidan, and Wrex, Mass Effect 3 would have been the perfect time to add that.)

- Treynor and Allers were pointless adds to The Normandy Crew, Cortez was pretty cool tho

- The freakin game was too short

- The Squadmember number should have been even bigger than Mass Effect 2 (Guys yeah yeah I know you did not use or like half of those people but hey LEAVE THEM ON THE SHIP atleast you could have the option of possibly exploring another team member later if you got bored with one or the other. I loved having all my companions with me flying around the galaxy solving problems and kicking butt it just felt awesome and epic. Oh and yeah yeah that would be too expensive yada yada yeah but they found a way in Mass Effect 2, this was the last journey we should have all been together that apart that was just cheap dumbed down and stupid i am sorry.)

- The Journal system was messy mumbo jumbo

- Seemed to me they focused on Liara's scenes more so than any other Love Interest (This pissed me off really bad too but again the Liara fan lovers are to blame for this, I mean don't get me wrong guys I love Liara too heck she is really the only reason Shep. is still alive to fight another day but I mean give me a ***** break there are other characters in the story to drool over gees, almost every fan YouTube video I watch everyone says "oh and I romanced Liara in my playthrough, oh and I romanced Liara in my playthrough" oh my gosh.

All of these are my opinions of course, but i really want to know what you guys think, thank you all for any responses given thank you. Mass Effect 3 was overall a good game by itself but Mass Effect 1 and 2 in every aspect you can think of were truely in a league of their own!!!!!! END OF STORY, HANDS DOWN

Kinda sad really. I fell in love with BW games during chemotherapy when I was young, kept me smiling and entertained. I really don't like that it has gone from Baldur's Gate (a tale of epicness, even by todays standards), to...well...Skittles and Starbrat.

Anyways, I'm off to bed, me thinks. Maybe...eventually...lol.
