Hey guys my name is nick, I finished playing MS3 2 days after I got it (on Easter.) I have been following these forums since then seeking updates and closure, which I have found. I would love to join the discussion, if you guys will have me
So we can't get the ending we want after all?

He did not, the construction of the crucible introduced the option.g_bassi13 wrote...
Also, none of this explains why he would present destroy as an option in the first place.

Am I the only person who has done more than 3 playthroughs? I'm on my 7th.... Well okay I would be but I'm having too much fun playing Fallout New Vegas and the DLC for it.
I did one, and started 2 just because I wanted to get over the ending, couldn't get past the first mission though, saw hoodiekid and just gave up till they fix it.
New Vegas is awesome though.. I should play through that again soon as I'm done playing "I am Alive"...which by the way is an awesome XBox Live Arcade game.

I tried to min/max a playthrough from 1-3 to get the max WA possible so I could get a breathe ending. As much as I love ME2, I haven't made it through that. I just stopped caring sadly. Mostly what game time I've had has been devoted to Minecraft. Though I have been considering getting the Witcher Enhanced edition, playing that and then Witcher 2. We'll see.

*looks back at his previous post, does a facepalm lol* yeah thats right, i forgot about that somehow with it adding the options, being his gambit still holds though as he gives the information on what it does and makes it seem bad to gain the advantage in the situation and tell you how great the other two choices areDJBare wrote...

I stayed to my word and never finished it again since i got the doopey ending. It just drained any immersion feeling i had in the game. Like you, i've been playing better Bethesda games like Fallout and Skyrim

That would be a poor excuse in my opinion. It works well in the actual indoctrination theory where they need your mind truly set into the wrong decision you're making, where you forego what your goal was all along (to kill the reapers). IE you're truly indoctrinated.Major Swift wrote...
its his gambit, he risks the cycle and reapers failing in the hopes of gaining the advantage making it seem bad and presents two options he tries to make seem the betterg_bassi13 wrote...
They would have to change a lot in my opinion to make that work. Because if most of same set up is there, it wouldn't make sense, or truly explain anything. The thing not lacking from the current ending is not closure. Yeah they don't outright tell you what happens down the road, but each action that the crucible had what were supposed to be well defined effects. Why it is that these things happen, what the side effects are, and why characters did what they did afterwards it is more of a question, but the supossed direct consequences of your actions remain set. You die, AI die, relays blow up. That's it.
This new revelation would just turn everything into an indoc theory that's pulled off in a very half-assed way. Except instead of waking up and continuing the fight, the game still ends with the push of a button. I want Shepard to win and move on with her life, but certainly in a more satisfying way than that. It seems almost near equally unfulfilling as what we already have. Instead of crap we got, we instead get, "Oh it turns out everything the kid said was a lie. Yay!". Not good enough I think.
Also, none of this explains why he would present destroy as an option in the first place.
In this new way, it doesn't make any sense. All the catalyst need you to do, is his bidding for him. There's no way Shepard could no that the destroy option otherwise exists. It's just a lose/lose for him to give Shepard an option to kill the reapers and fulfill his/her destiny.

Didn't they found that theres a protein in the egg's shell that can only come from a chicken. So a chicken was needed to lay the egg for the first time...
So it was a mutated bird that was the first chicken !

Yeah and who created the Catalyst? Man this paradox makes my head hurt. I just want to say by Catalyst. Bye Reapers.

Exactly what I mean. Shepard could in no way know that it otherwise exists. Why would he tell Shepard the option to complete his goal of killing the reapers is right there. There's no need for a "gambit". You didn't miss anything.CaptnObvious wrote...

I don't think I'lll bother with it. I'll probably see what the whole thing is about on youtube, and if it's really worth it, than maybe I'll get it. It's not really relevant that it's free. Free crap is still crap.FreedMason wrote...
Do you think you will play this Extended Cut DLC? I dunno about you, but ME3's ending was heartbreaking enough--and not in a good way--I am not sure how adding to it wil make it better..I might look for it on the YouTube site if I am feeling masochistic.
