@ DJBare lol

Medical report, patient suffering head traumer after hitting it against their desk trying to understand the ending, report filed.

Lol I've taken my medigel and feel fine now.  Can't say the same for my desk tho.

medigel might not do the trick for long, i recommend stopping by Huerta Memorial just to be safe ;)

Well, its now Bigglesworth Memorial after a generous donation of 50 million credits

@ Vahilor thnx just trying to make some sense of the ending as I'm a bit pessimistic about the Extended Cut DLC.

My opinion about the EC is that if the relays blow up then it's all still pointless because everyone will die.

A heroic sacrifice that kills everything huh?

They've already said the relays were 'disabled' not destroyed... AKA simply broke apart rather than overload and destroy all things... though I still find that hard to believe with the gigantor technicolor explosions in the cutscenes there lol.

I suspect the Extended cut is simply going to show the relays not exploded.. maybe have some "BattleNet" footage of Allers explaining that the relays didn't actually overload and that's why everyone's still here sorta thing.

The greatest thing about sci-fi is that the medium requires some suspension of belief to accept non-existant/not-yet-existant technologies and science.  That in itself allows them to come up with a plausible explanation... it's how the Mass Relays even exist... there's no current technology that allows circumventing Einstein's E=MC^2 which prevents FTL  travel.

The greatest thing about sci-fi is that they can make up **** as they go along. Or is that the worst thing. Probably the latter, lol.

All that stuff about FTL was set up 3 games ago at the begininning of ME1. This stuff about the relays and what the space magic entails is new knowledge. And by new knowlege, I mean that they're making up **** as they go along.

The ideals of space magic cannot be compared to the stuff which the series actually spent time establishing. The latter being a foundation of sci-fi writing, with the former being pure crap. You can suspend your belief for one a lot easier than the other.

That's where I was going with it lol.  I'm just saying if they actually put enough effort into explaining something it'll be acceptable.

Game Informer gave Mass Effect 3 a perfect 10 and called us whiney, other than that little tidbit, all quiet on the line.

Whos ending is it anyway? :D

That would be much better lol, a Improv tv show would spend more time writting the scene than bioware did

Yeah, but if you ask me ( and i know you didnt ) that suspension of disbelief in this case isnt a suspension at all, its a hanging..

Yup!  They did kinda screw the pooch on the initial attempt lol.. because they DIDN'T explain anything.

Also, public forum, you're welcome to state your opinion anytime you want, don't let me hold you back.. heck my initial comment would have been considered butting in on the other conversation haha. :P

I get that and I guess the reason I'm up in arms about this is that I've bought into ME lore so much. It was said many times that if a relay is destroyed then so is the system. I don't buy that they were disabled because of the gigantic explosion which didn't occur in the control ending, so other then control the relays got destroyed. Also god child said that they would blow (he is a lying SOB though). I just hate how everything that happened contradicts what we have been told throughout the series and even what has been said after this whole fiasco came to light.

i can't support disabled for the other endings as they clearly break apart but in control they remain intact

Its how mass relays reproduce, the explode in a cloud of smaller relays that grow when fed with space magic, the Blue varity of mass relay  or Coelestinus Mentula feeds on the vapour of dead space marines, and the best way to make your own relay food is to trap your space marine in a no win situation and hope he frys himself in the relay wafle maker.

I think that reviewers are terrified at the prospect of FAN CRITICISMS being more powerful than that of professional reviewers. How dare the unwashed masses voice their opinions rather than blindly obeying that of reviewers? The noble calling of game reviewer has been defiled!

You can't expect a game based web site to have access to such privileged knowledge as previous games with endings that have been changed.

i've taken the time (yes i know this is sad lol) to closely examine that scene there and as ive said about 100+ pages ago the little bits are just little pieces of the exterior flying off from the force of the energy being unleashed and the relay still remains intact
