Yeah the Mass Relays were dissabled by exploding XD.

Funny they "broke" appart with an explosion... and still they are not functional anymore and the Galaxy still is dommed cause nobody can go back to their homeworlds...

i can't support disabled for the other endings as they clearly break apart but in control they remain intact

They also break appart in control if you look closely.. you see parts of the relays flyiing into space.

i've taken the time (yes i know this is sad lol) to closely examine that scene there and as ive said about 100+ pages ago the little bits are just little pieces of the exterior flying off from the force of the energy being unleashed and the relay still remains intact

Darn.. *throws Spacehamsters on the relays and watches them assimililating the relays*

The greatest thing about sci-fi is that they can make up **** as they go along. Or is that the worst thing. Probably the latter, lol.

All that stuff about FTL was set up 3 games ago at the begininning of ME1. This stuff about the relays and what the space magic entails is new knowledge. And by new knowlege, I mean that they're making up **** as they go along.

The ideals of space magic cannot be compared to the stuff which the series actually spent time establishing. The latter being a foundation of sci-fi writing, with the former being pure crap. You can suspend your belief for one a lot easier than the other.

That's where I was going with it lol.  I'm just saying if they actually put enough effort into explaining something it'll be acceptable.

You could probably tell my tone, but I don't care how they explain the space magic, lol. The nature of it was intended to be ambiguous. Now they're trying to cover their tracks because they couldn't anticipate that a fan base that spends huge chunks of time reading the in game encyclopedia would not be okay with that. Who knew?

To put it bluntly, I feel there's no way that they can make the space magic okay. Just no way.

When it was announced that Bioware was working on somehow fixing the ending, my hopes went up. I even prepared a second playthrough in anticipation. Now in all likelihood all I will get is better closure? Seriously? I really, really hope that Bioware will not invalidate all our feedback by doing that.

They are doing a great job so far of alienating a big portion of their trusting fanbase, judging from the Feedback in this thread. All I can humbly wish for is that they will be able to swallow their pride and give us, even give the story its due as we have come to expect of the great games they have given us so far.

At this level of magnitude it's not just a bunch of spoiled brats who want something, this thread is made of righteous indignation. I am reserving my final judgement for the release of the DLC, but I know that for me personally a lot hinges on how Bioware will handle this.

My only wish is for Shepard to do what she/he has always done, and has in her/him to do: save everyone's butts and live to tell the tale.

another thought just dawned on me, the citadel would have had to blow up also (which it didn't) if the relays broke apart completely (like in destroy/synthesis) and were destroyed in the control ending

Yes, it would of had to have blown up. They did show an explosion at it's core, but the rest is not known. It's supposed to be up for... err... speculation.

I think the Citadel relay was disabled after the first attack.  You make an excellent point though.  Disabled relays don't blow up?  So even if that was the case they may be able to find more of the mini-relays.. like on Ilos.

The greatest thing about sci-fi is that the medium requires some suspension of belief to accept non-existant/not-yet-existant technologies and science.  That in itself allows them to come up with a plausible explanation... it's how the Mass Relays even exist... there's no current technology that allows circumventing Einstein's E=MC^2 which prevents FTL  travel.

What?  Eezo isn't real?  grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ;p

I am still waiting for some smart arse kid in my science class to ask me where Element Zero is on the periodic table.  That would totally make my day.

If I've told you people once I've told you a hundred times. Cancel your subs to Game informer, IGN Kotaku ect ect ect.

You keeping your subscriptions while complaining about them is like a guy saying "I'll never eat from this restaurant again" while looking at the menu.

Good whatever time of the day it is where ever you fine folks are. Just been catching up on the last 10 pages or so, been a slow day I see.

I had something to say but apparently my brain is broken today (yes I know this is not a new development) and I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Oh well, back and holding the line.

*edit
Apparently my spelling ability is in the part of my brain currently broken

Much like the ending, some things can't be unseen.  It's best left to speculation.
