Ok, since bioware write the dam story, they could have made the ending
any combination of twists and hard choices... so I present the build an
ending machine.

Instructions- Choose two major Sacrafices, and choose two Outcomes
only one * choice may be chosen in each section  and only one ! choice

Major Sacrafices

Sword Fleet destroyed
Earth Destroyed
Relay Network Self Destruct
All Human race killed *
All advanced organic life destroyed*

All advanced Tech destroyed

Shepard Killed!
Crew killed!
Crew stranded
Always Another Way
1200 ms points
Large Fleet casualties 1200 ms points

Outcomes

Reapers Destroyed*
Reapers (succesfully) Enslaved *
Fleets Stranded and Interspecies Resource War
Fleets can reach home but galactic civilisation no longer possible
Happy ending 1200 ms points

And yes point out any problems you have with the system (apart from not being able to get the ending you want after all! )

Send all MS points to 123 fake street!

So wait, how many more assets do you get for sabotaging the cure over going through with the cure?

not really sure of the numbers, not that it really matters when it comes down to things at this point

Well how much EMS do you need to get the cutscene with Shepard taking a half-breath? 7000?

4000 EMS minimum(if you save anderson for the extra minute or so) not that you can get that without playing MP

Welcome to the line!  I don't think that having a happy ending is required if it were a commentary on war.  Some of the best movies/commentary on war have the worst endings.  Several past US Presidents and Russian leaders have stated the "The Day After", a horribly bleak Made-For-TV Drama from back in the 70s about a nuclear war with the US was seen by both sides and really hit a nerve. kind of made them realize that nuclear war no one wins, which was contrary to a lot of the US Military Establishment opinion of the time.  Part of the "START" anti-proliferation treaty was credited to the movie's writers for showing how important it was to disarm nukes.

At the same time, this is a video game.. it's not going out ot its way to advertise as a bleak commentary on war... last I checked we're not at war with an unstoppable force or anything of the sort.  People want to play games to be entertained.. not question philosophical endings about fate and choice and inevitability.. I guarantee if you picked up ME1 it was probably because of the RPG/Shooter/Choice aspects with a great story/graphics, not to take away questions of war and stuff.

They definitely dropped the ball on the ending when they changed the point of playing the game.

As I said, welcome to the line! Cookies and Punch in the tent to your right! :police:

The bold part? THAT.

Almost all of the gripes of the game can be summed up with that statement. Lack of choice? Check. Changing the goal from Stop the Reapers to End Conflict between Synthetics and Organics? Check. No opportunity to resolve or continue relationships with squadmates/friends/LI after the conflict? Check. Requirement of Multiplayer to Effect "Galactic Readiness"? Check.

I thought it was 5000 EMS.

It's nearly impossible to get 4000 EMS with no multiplayer, because that means you need 8000 TMS and there's only one or two types of playthrus from ME-2 thru ME-3 where u can get that.

I have yet to see the benefits to siding with the Salarians because of the glitch where you don't get the Salarian forces after saving the Dalatrass. So as far as I know, it's meaningless. But you MUST have the krogan and turians to be even near a chance to survive.

5000 if you don't save anderson, 4000 if you save him for the extra minute or so
there is no way to get either of these amounts without MP

It's the salarian Councilor you save, not the dalatrass.

What is this "save anderson" thing? I keep reading about it but I don't see where you're supposed to save him or how.

By using the renegade interrupts on Timmy and/or being able to get him to off himself.

exactly, you don't "save" him, you just keep him alive for a few bits of dialogue etc otherwise he just dies
edit: also what Goodwood said with the interrupt/make him pull a saren

Ok, I've gotten TiM to shoot himself. But I never understood that "save anderson" thing cuz he always passed out/died during our final convo (Before Hackett radios in).

That's the point. "Saving him" only means not to shoot at him. He dies anyway.
Stupid ending...

like i said a couple posts back, its impossible to get even the 4000 EMS without playing MP so either way you go on the cure choice you won't get that high of an EMS

Get a riding mower, and then pretend you're joker... you may require a ballcap that says SR-2 on it to fully immerse yourself.  Ensure you weave and swerve regularly to avoid reaper fire.   This will also ensure that when you're done you won't have to ever mow the lawn again... they'll call it "worst driving ever".. you'll call it "Worthy of honourable discharge & retirement"

I play MP ALOT (Vanguards FTW). I have 100% Galactic Readiness. Is it safe to say I can go on with the cure and still have 5000 EMS?
