Fair enough, I also belive that some things like the godchild could be propperly explained by the DLC in some form without "Changing the endings".

People like the example of FO3 broken steel changing the ending, but if we applied what some are asking for here to that, then they would not have changed the last mission so you could send a companion who was immune to radiation, they would have just cut that mission from the game completely, but they found a way to work in their change into the existing parameters.

Who the bloody hell wants to have the god child explained? Is that what anyone is looking for?

Also, re: Fallout, the difference is that there was one aspect of the ending that ruined it, not a hundred or so like ME3. The makers realized that forcing their idea of having the hero die was one that the fans didn't want, so they changed it. They pretty much said the fans were right.

Bioware on the other hand has given us nothing thus far to work with. Just BS PR talk, and lots of it.

edit: sorry for the grumpy tone. Wasn't meant to be antagonistic, or anything.

We should begin plans for a continuity of civillization in case things go south.  I recommend we start by placing our heads between our legs and kissing our butts goodbye.

Exactly. Just forcing a reunion with the crew within the current ending isn't good enough. It's BS. How is it a comprimise?

You seem to forget that a comprimise by its nature never makes any side happy :D

Indeed. But the only problem is: it can't be a compromise if you are not giving up anything. If they just give us an explanation, they didn't give up the endings that were the problem in the first place. So, the "compromise" they are saying is just a PR cleverly designed name for something we don't want, but they want to show the media that they did what we wanted.

After that, they can bring out strategy number 2, and say "some people are never happy". When they knew no one would be happy with their convenient "compromise" (if we are talking about the "explanation").

It could be terrible, it could be shome ****ty naration over a cutscene, it could be ok. The best we can hope for is that we are relived its not bad. Obviously as you said digging new holes to fix the current ones or saying "you saw wrong" to facilitate everyone not being dead or stranded would be terrible, I just have optimism that within the parameters of what they have said they can do they could make things O.K

Koobarex, I just have to say, the comics you make have gotten to the point of such perfection that they're better than what we witnessed playout in the game, heh. :D

Are you kidding? The Marauder Shields comics can't even be compared to the real ending (yes, ending should indeed be in singular).

Uhm, I wasn't comparing it to the ending? Like, at all.  It was meant as a compliment, as in he got the feeling (of the good part of the game, obviously) just right, and every character remained perfectly in character.. or you know, whatever. Sorry if I insulted anyone? (though I'm not sure how, even though english is not my native language)

What I don't want is explanations for why things sucked. I don't want to hear:

Joker and the crew abandoned you because *insert excuse here*

The relays didn't go supernova because *insert excuse here*

The relays are going to be rebuilt becuase *insert excuse here*

The galactic armada stranded on earth never starved because *insert excuse here*

Everyone managed to end up back at their home planet because *insert excuse here*

Most people on the citadel managed to survive because *insert excuse here*

The Catalyst exists because *insert excuse here*

Space-Magic is scientifically and logically explained by *insert excuse here*

Shepard is actually alive because  *insert excuse here*

Shepard manages to reunite with the crew because  *insert excuse here*

That's not what I'm looking for, yet I feel that's exactly all we're going to get, nothing more. I can fill in all those blanks by myself. That's easy. And it sucks. It's BS. What I want is some actual effort from them put into fixing the ending. We won't get that though.

No worries!  I don't think she was actually upset, I got a bit of sarcasm like "Marauder Shields is WAY better than the ending" and so couldn't be compared because it's SO good. ^_^

Well you may be dissapointed by whatever they do then . The two groups that will hate somthing like that will be strange people who liked the ending, who will go "well I can't use my imaginaton now" and people who want a completely new resolution to the reaper war, with a new final confrontation and a new aftermarth, I assume you would fit the second group.

My own opinion? well a positve explanation could be good, a new ending would be better, but I respect that people can have different feelings

Yeah, great list.

Thing is the ending is potent as it is.

Granted its a terrible potency that makes me sick and ashamed.  But it still has all of this sort of terrible finality.

And as much as the team murders its own lore and logic, there are still some things that are kept in line.

But if they go back and say, its not that bad because this and this and this (even though it goes against the lore), then it will take away from the tiny bit of value the ending still has.

As much as I hate the ending, I can say this about it,  It is ****ing bold as hell.  Nearly everone dies, galaxy is going to a dark age, nothing matters.

Thus clarification (and chickening out) is going to actually make the ending even weaker.

Please someone stop Bioware, somehow.

I would like a happy ending, but I'd like it to come along with a sense of satisfaction. It the endings remain as is, the satisfaction won't come in. The ending is completely broken, and simply retconning the consequences of the Destroy option and exploiting the "Shepard breathes" easter egg does nothing to fix it. I don't want hear their excuses, the ones that they're making up as we speak.

If all you're looking for is a happy ending whatever way you can take it, something tells me you'll be very happy when this DLC comes out.
