Dr. Pepper is my second love right after Moutain Dew.  I about live on Diet Mt. Dew... OK I do live on it.

Are you guys trying to get me started on how much I hate MP? I liked ME because it was a single player...:(

Heh why not, they got me started on how much I hate MP, so why not join the crowd

While it is relatively simplistic by shooter standards, I actually didn't mind the multiplayer once I had gotten used to it. The thing is, if you're not already at least somewhat into shooters, the appeal to play it isn't there. There's no role-playing involved, you're not actively recruiting anyone (the only way to communicate is by in-game voice chat, and most folks don't have the setup for that), and it's not like the characters you promote to lvl 20 actually contribute to War Assets (you'd think they would, but they don't).

Having first come to Mass Effect after having played a bunch of FPSs (and generally sucking at multiplayer), it's much easier for me to get a grip on. I also understand why most RPG enthusiasts don't like it; it's like if they attached a "horde mode" multiplayer option onto KotOR where you go to Dantooine after the sacking and just fight waves and waves of Dark Jedi and Sith. It would've rightfully been seen as totally unnecessary and it would take away from the story experience—even if the multiplayer could be switched off and done with bots instead.

And yet despite the claims of the devs, you can't get decent endings (by their definition) without playing it.

Thanks, point well taken. Guess nobody gained anything when they decided to make some DLCs free instead of paid, as initially planned.

Alright fine ladies and gentlebeings I believe it is that time of the evening where I bid a good night to you all. It's time to quit playing with the new laptop and actually get some sleep.

Night night folks.

Hi folks.
Good morning/afternoon/night
I just wanted to share with you guys something i've just experienced while engaging in a conversation with some (non Mass effect players) friends of mine today.
You guys probably already know that 99% of the people who have not played ME or haven't seen the ending of ME3 are against us.At the begining of the discussion after i explained why we started this movement, their reaction was exactly the same we've been seen around the internet so much, like "you guys are entitled/spoiled childs" "you want a happy rainbow ending, etc".After that i explained that our major complaint wasn't the sad tune of the ending but the inconsistencies and plot holes of the same, and then again i've heard what we've already heard a thousand times around the internet "It's their game, they can do what ever they want to do" "it's art, etc".
At this point i was already kinda pissed off, but, i kept my politeness  and asked "If we get the ending changed via DLC as we want, how will this affect the people who liked the ending? If they liked the ending they can keep it, no one is forcing them into downloading the DLC, am i right? So why all the hatred?
They went silent for some seconds ...
And i thought "gotcha".But after that since they've had no response they returned to their initial bashing of the movement.
Don't get them wrong, they aren't ME players so they are seeing the situation from an outside perspective.
The point is that i have felt like a scientist during the inquisition, however logical i was they were insisting that i was wrong no matter how vague their arguments were.
My conclusion is that this must be human nature, since we always hear the same  arguments and curiously the same name calling as well.
The lesson i have learned out of this is "You should never discuss about something you don't understand otherwise you may look stupid and unresonable" (like they did to me).
The funny thing is that we look much more civilized than the people who attack us saying we are haters...

@RussianOrc:

The key here is to pick your battles. As you rightfully conclude, discussing with your friends things which only you are knowledgeable and/or passionate about can get you nowhere fast. I've had the same thing happen to me when discussing some of my hobbies, such as computers and plastic model-building. It's not unlike going up to a bunch of sci-fi geeks and singing the praises of LotOR trilogy and/or C. S. Lewis's works.

Are you trying to imply that the works of J.R.R. Tolkein and C.S. Lewis are not worthy of the praise they receive so readily? <_<

I don't think you really missed much of anything. The guy who was just in here was actually the second such person holding forth such an opinion this afternoon/evening; we were polite as usual and it seems that they did not wish to contest the point further. Ah well, their loss. ^_^

I've also been playing some moar multiplayer ME3. Hey, it passes the time!

You know me better than that, dear. ;)

Truth be told, though, I'm much more a fan of sci-fi than I am of fantasy, at least insofar as the realm of literature. After having tried DA:O and DA2, however, I find that I like fantasy RPGs almost as much as sci-fi ones (I'd actually /love/ to see an action-RPG set during World War II).

Their endings left to be desired. Some writing lessons with Mac Walters would've done them good.

You're right, some battles are no worth fighting unless you are surrounded by allies, like we are in this thread.
