My opinion is that Bioware and their IPs are now in the standard EA 2 year per game development cycle. ( Two years to develop and then it's released no matter what state it's in. )
Thanks to the 2 year development cycle RPS are no longer viable. Which is why they are getting more and more actiony/shooter and less and less RPG. Action and shooter are easier and quicker to make.

Microsoft studios should not have let bioware go...
They never owned Bioware. They were just a publisher and had no say in their sale.
The slide to Bioware crapdom went along the lines of...
Bioware and Pandemic were bought by Elevation studios on the promise that they would give them as much funding as they needed with no interference. ( Or whatever Bonos company was called )
Bono then pulled out and the remaining owner sold them both to EA.
This owner then became a director at EA.
EA shut down Pandemic for no reason after letting them finish off the almost finished anyway Saboteur. ( An awesome game in my opinion. )
Bioware were allowed to finish off their then current games, stuck on the 2 year dev cycle and turned into a brand name.
That last part is just my opinion but basically that's how the rest of it went.
It's a shame that Microsoft weren't able to buy Bioware as they might have remained a trustworthy purveyor of quality RPGs.
