*sigh of relief* lol thats good to know, everyone else seems to have killed her  and yeah i totally agree with her getting screwed up pretty bad in ME2/3

I also saved Ashley on Virmire. I hated how she was such a wet blanket in ME3, always doubting Shepard and complaining about something. <_< Some moments were fun, however.

I ended up gaining a good chunk of renegade points because I kept telling her to shut the hell up, lol. And considering there was no romance option for Femshep and Ashley in this game for some reason, everything remained completely unresolved. It all builds up to a peak, she comes back on to the squad, and then she has nothing to say for the rest of the game.

By the time my game ended, I began to wonder why she was even on my ship, because there was absolutely no legitamite dialogue to continue the friendship (because that's what the game had decided for me that it was). It was just another thing in the game I felt was horribly handeled.

Checking in once again. Still not playing ME. Just saw the review in Game Informer that gave ME3 a 10 and completely dismissed the complaints of the many dissatisfied gamers.

Joe Juba writes in the "second opinion" review, "Don't be dismayed by some users' complaints about the ending; I've been a hardcore fan of Mass Effect from the beginning, and I am completely satisfied with the conclusion..."

I have to disagree with Mr. Juba. I am still completely dissatisfied with the ending.

In the business, I believe they call that doubling down. As a guy who writes reviews in a magazine he can likely get away without hedging his bets.

Yeah, her presense was such a bummer in an already depressing computer game. I wish they did ret-con her orientation, as she would have made a great addition to female Shepard's lover list. Bioware had no problem ret-conning nearly every decision made in the game, so why not this?<_< I agree that she had nothing to do on the ship. Why did she not ask how Shepard took down the Collectors, and make small talk that was not belly-aching?

EA on Google Finance

According to the news side bar, there are rumors of EA doing a big layoff.

500-1000 employees, they've cited overspending in advertising as the culprit, not producing mostly finished games...

They're going to name anything except the lack of success of their games as the culprit.  They'd attribute the layoffs to 9/11 if they could somehow tie it in.

As we learned from the many leaks surrounding ME3, which all later turned out to be correct even though were denied by official bioware statements, you can't take anything a spokesperson says at face value.  Instead look for details and specifics in the leak which seem plausible.  A good example of how a seemingly denial can actually leave room open for reversing itslelf later is described here.  Also notice he had a specific date the layoffs were to be announced, which is normal for large layoffs in corporations.  Everything about this points towards it being true.

This was already confirmed by the Canadian Media.. I'll have to find the links in a couple minutes.  It sounds like term/contract employees who aren't going to have their contracts renewed as well as some of the marketing guys from what I read.  Their Fiscal Year has just Ended on March 31st, more than like they have preliminary financials internally already and are moving to dump staff on underperforming/redundant subsidiaries and offices so they can announce that when they release their Q4 earnings reports.  The reason they're doing it now is because in Canada a lot of provinces require quite significant notice of layoff depending on how long employees have worked for them, and for over certain numbers of employees there are government notifications that have to take place a certain number of days before the layoffs take effect.

That being said, what caused the underperformance/redundancies is still up for debate.

I just read the article. Did Bioware even BOTHER to do QA for the DLC?! Seriously, these are game crashing bugs were talking about here. To top it all off, Bioware has to ask what's wrong. Just....:(

Is she really a Commander now? Ew...

Well, Kaidan outranks Shepard (he is a Major when Shepard is a Lt Commander) and he still listens to her/him as if he was still a Lt. I find it a little...weird, but I guess the fact that Shepard is a spectre makes up for it?

/Good night everyone

(sorry I was kind of absent from the line these last 3/4 days - work and all that stuff. And my rage over the ending is still there, but not my hope that it will be truly fixed - that StarBrat will be removed by using the IT/"it was all a dream" stuff - is becoming next to non-existent... Damn it! StarBrat's very existence is an unfixable plot hole, can't they see that ? Can't they read their own codex ? :( )

Someone torched the franchise and ran. :bandit:

Confirmation: EA Burnaby (Fifa/Need For Speed) - now focusing on NFS:World & EA Vancouver - responsible for the EA World Domination Plot... I mean.. well actually I don't know WHAT that office does... besides some advertising/marketing.

I feel exactly the same way. Every day when I accidentally let my mind wander to the beautiful landscape of Mass Effect I'm struck with absolute hopelessness, the inability to do anything other than remember that even all the overwhelming amount of good (the characters, the lore, the greatest (both heart-wrenching, elevating, and humorous) moments, etc.) stands no chance in the face of those 10-15 minutes that ruins everything we've cared for, fought for, bled and sweat for in the previous games and in that 90-99% of ME3...

But there's no other choice but to keep holding the line (& the wallet)... Hope springs eternal - even (and especially) when we feel there's none left.
