Confirmation: EA Burnaby (Fifa/Need For Speed) - now focusing on NFS:World & EA Vancouver - responsible for the EA World Domination Plot... I mean.. well actually I don't know WHAT that office does... besides some advertising/marketing.

It's just a coincidence that the EA affected was the Canadian one, right? Right?

I suspect so in this case.  EA's already dumped Black Box out there pretty much.  They're trying to find a 'hit' for that studio so they don't have to dump all the talent out there, hence the 'restructuring'.  Trouble is the NFS franchise's best game to date, saleswise, is NFS: Hot Pursuit (2010) and that came from a UK Developer.

This isn't Bioware, they're a separate studio in Edmonton, though they may share some of the support staff (I doubt it though) out of Vancouver's office.

They won't layoff the ones responsible for the problems though. The people getting laid off will be writer's assistants, programmers, interns, accountants, secretaries...

It will be hard to get the Executives and CEOs to see any blowback, even if the company is hemorrhaging money, they usually will continue to make quite a lot of money themselves. They just pass it on the the employees making minimum wage. they'll dissolve studios and cannabalize the staff. They'll shoot out the 56th version of Madden and make cheat codes for 15 dollars on xbox live.

In the article you are quoting from there is a link to another article indicating 5 of the 11 board members are listed as Ex-EA. Whatever that means.

I also saved Ashley on Virmire. But to be honest, I never really cared about both of these characters.
I always play a Male Shepard and Kaidan was just simply boring, he never had anything too interesting to say and I didn't get any connection to him. He was always just standing there and I almost never took him on the missions.
Ashley was more or less that typical "Look at what a though army woman I am!" kinda person, which I have seen often enough, but at least her dialog was more interesting and some scenes with her were funny or at least a little touching, so I chose her, but nevertheless Liara always was the romance option.

Oh, I know. I was just wondering, because, you know, Bioware is part of EA, and now EA is laying off staff from the Canadian EA, so...

I do feel bad that people are losing jobs. No matter the reason, it's sad.

Is she really a Commander now? Ew...

Well, Kaidan outranks Shepard (he is a Major when Shepard is a Lt Commander) and he still listens to her/him as if he was still a Lt. I find it a little...weird, but I guess the fact that Shepard is a spectre makes up for it?

It's okay.  Shepard gets promoted to Hero of the Soviet Union after the citadel kid incident.

I'm pretty sure all she did was turn me into a robot, and assume it was all for the best.

Eww, no. Why would anyone who hated the ending pick synthesis? lol. It pretty much symbolizes everything that was wrong with the end of the game by itsef.

Well I'm glad you prefer genocide to... whatever the hell it is synthesis does.

I loved Ash character..probably my favourite LI along with Jack. Had playthrughs that romanced them both and stayed faithful as bioware said it will count ...YeAH counted for nothing...
Ash was amazingly developed in ME1 and had incredible depth...I wish Bioware had more balls and used same people 2nd game and 3rd to show character progress a nd not worry too much aboyy new players...
But still happy how thus panned out in ME2.

ME3 however I wanted big confrontation between betrayed ME1 LI and LI from ME2 .I think it would have added layer of complexity and drama to the game. I was happy how it was donr though also felt that some characters could have bigger roles ..Jack for example. Funny story with Jack as she looks exacly as my ex of almost 4 years an ethiopian model I was going out with... Even her behaviour and vocabulary... plus shaved head and fit body..

When I played the game I was Cracking up becasue of that...lol

Kaidan like you I found boring and useless. So when Virmire came I never gave him a second  thought...
I suppose he was there for fem sheppard .I never played fem shep as I find that not to my liking..
