I also saved Ashley on Virmire. I hated how she was such a wet blanket in ME3, always doubting Shepard and complaining about something. <_< Some moments were fun, however.
I also saved Ashley on Virmire. But to be honest, I never really cared about both of these characters.
I always play a Male Shepard and Kaidan was just simply boring, he never had anything too interesting to say and I didn't get any connection to him. He was always just standing there and I almost never took him on the missions.
Ashley was more or less that typical "Look at what a though army woman I am!" kinda person, which I have seen often enough, but at least her dialog was more interesting and some scenes with her were funny or at least a little touching, so I chose her, but nevertheless Liara always was the romance option.
I loved Ash character..probably my favourite LI along with Jack. Had playthrughs that romanced them both and stayed faithful as bioware said it will count ...YeAH counted for nothing...
Ash was amazingly developed in ME1 and had incredible depth...I wish Bioware had more balls and used same people 2nd game and 3rd to show character progress a nd not worry too much aboyy new players...
But still happy how thus panned out in ME2.
ME3 however I wanted big confrontation between betrayed ME1 LI and LI from ME2 .I think it would have added layer of complexity and drama to the game. I was happy how it was donr though also felt that some characters could have bigger roles ..Jack for example. Funny story with Jack as she looks exacly as my ex of almost 4 years an ethiopian model I was going out with... Even her behaviour and vocabulary... plus shaved head and fit body..
When I played the game I was Cracking up becasue of that...lol
Kaidan like you I found boring and useless. So when Virmire came I never gave him a second thought...
I suppose he was there for fem sheppard .I never played fem shep as I find that not to my liking..
