As in you NEED MP to get high enough? or something else?

Yes. We discussed that before. I think one of the steps BW should take to prove that they really appreciate their customers is to make an "opt-out of MP" patch. Being an optional thing, just those who, like me, can't stand MP, would very much like to see their war assets recalculated just for SP. Forcing MP is a bad, bad thing to do. Especially after all the problems ME3 generated.

Aw, c'mon. MP's not that bad. It's like playing the rest of the game, 'cept there's no Ending. I've probably logged more hours on MP than SP.   ^_^

Ending be damned, the rest of the game was fabulous. I also have no self-control: if whatever it is is single player and good enough, I'll probably take it. Even though the ending did sorely sour the rest of the game for me in ways which have never been before imagined...

....and here lies the problem. If you're still going to buy the stuff they bring out why should they bother fixing the ending?

If he wants to go ahead and buy non-ending DLC despite the fact that he, like us, abhors the ending, then that's his choice. We shouldn't look down on him for that.

I hate knowing that when ME3's MP servers go down, nobody will ever be able to see the "best" ending.

That's such a terrible idea. Here's hoping they fix it soon.

This "something we are very proud of" thing is a pain in the butt. Did anyone ever release something they were not proud of? At least publicly, as they promoted the thing?

People should avoid that line. Be more creative, or more direct. All this ready-made phrasing is really irritating.

Yeah, I don't think I would put any meaning to Mike Gamble being proud of something.

My understanding is that he is also proud of Mass Effect 3 as it stands right now (I don't blame him for being proud of something he helped create, but I cannot fathom how anyone actually could be proud of ME 3 as it stands right now), so his opinion is pretty meaningless to me.

Hope QA was better than they were on the Xbox patch.Image IPB

Hey be nice to QA! I used to work in that department (not for EA or Bioware). It's not always their fault that bugs get out! Blame producers! And the Decision makers! They say when something goes live, they put pressure on the QA department to send something out.

Sure things slip, but that's the nature of the buisiness. Bugs will get out, period. I'm 100% positive that there were much worse bugs that were caught and fixed.

I aint' touching it.

That's what she said B)

Lol, gotta love the always ambiguous and cryptic tweets from our good folks at BioWare. Well, i guess that's always better than clear lies...

Ambiguous lies are worse than clear lies.

I suppose... But i had in mind more like the things they said in the Pre-Releases as clear lies, while nowadays they're mostly staying in the cryptic, non-meaning messages...

I just mean that i rather have them don't say anything, than have them ham it up beyond good measure.

The readiness percentage degrades significantly faster, actually. By my reckoning, it goes down by three points per day you don't play OR one point every time you exit and then restart the game. At least, on the PC version.

What a slapdash way of doing it.

I don't know about PC, but I know that in the Xbox version, all you have to do is not log in to the EA servers. It has worked for people

Due to Origin, if you can't connect to the EA servers, you can't use any DLC. At all.

Also, it likes to connect and verify my DLC as I am LOGGING OUT OF THE GAME instead of just when I'm logging in. Seems a touch excessive to me.

I wasn't looking down on anyone, though I think people like that kind of deserve it.

I mean honestly, why should they change the ending? or even pretend to listen to fans? if they are just going to buy the stuff anyway?

Well, some people can't play MP (as in no access to internet/no gold subscription on the 360), so the war assets should be sufficient without even having to touch MP.

^ This.

They need to fix it, because people should be able to get the "best" ending even after the servers are down.

Hahaha hey, I 'm glad there's a lot of people out there to feed the MP hunger. But I don't like it. And that's why I don't think they should take away MP or something like that. They could just release an optional patch that would make the game recalculate the readiness (and whatever else we get from MP) state, and make it totally doable for SP only.

I still don't know why they would deny it. Is it a way of saying: "we are forcing you into MP". Because they can say that I can opt out by myself, but I still have to play it to achieve something in SP. And that's the same as forcing me to MP.

I tried, and I still hate MP. As many more people. I don't think an optional opt-out "recalculator" is something bad for them. It would show a lot of love towards the fans.

Aw, c'mon MP is absolutely dreadful, and is nothing like playing the rest of the game.

Also it isn't really a matter of whether MP is fun or not, it's about them lying by saying we wouldn't need MP to get the best possible ending in SP.

Not everyone has internet acess, not everyone like's MP and not everyone has a gold membership (for xbox users)

The MP gets boring, fast. I gave my N7 edition to a co-worker and told him he could keep the game if he liked it because I was never going to play it again. I saw him three weeks after I gave him the game and he handed it back to me and told me it was awful. I thought maybe I'd feel an urge to play some ME3 online since I got it back, but I haven't once.

I haven't even downloaded the free DLC and don't suspect I ever will. Mass Effect is dead to me; I'm only using this forum to vent my rage every once in a while when I see some ME3-related news.

You might recall the individual saying that hesitating a bit, depending on the interview. Bioware was apparently taking the official stand that "Synthesis is Best Ending" and neglecting the snippet of someone in N7 armor breathing. Which makes no sense to me because it's the biggest change in the ending you can get, but whatever.

Even though I like MP, I have to agree with everyone else with regards to that issue. They said that you wouldn't have to play it in order to get the best (of a really dreadful selection of) ending(s).

They lied.

I'm ambivalent as far as MP is concerned, it's not my thing, but if people enjoy it then good for them, but if anyone who is part of Retake are still playing MP, keep in mind you are a statistic that will be used by EA's advertising campaign, everyone that logs in whether it's SP or MP add to those statistics.

This (and the fact that Mass Effect is dead to me as a series) is stopping me from putting that awful abomination of software into my Xbox.

Joker and Edi are an inadequate breeding population. Their descendants would suffer crippling inbreeding in the near future and probably die off. And that's only if you picked the Green Ending anyway. ^_^

Never played MP. Never will. Might as well edit a savegame to get higher "galactic readiness" just to see the "best possible ending", but not anytime soon.

I would maybe enjoy MP if there was possible team deathmatch against IT zealots, though.

I hope they have an accurate statistic for how many people beat the game once and never start another campaign.
