Just a reminder:
Folks, I see what I perceive to be tremendous amount of uncertainty and negativity and an attitude of wanting things done yesterday going on.
I want to reming everyone to be patient, hold the line, and let Bioware come up with this Extended Cut DLC.
They are being cryptic as can be on it and even though they are trying to clarify the ending, whatever that all means, they have the WHOLE writing team on the project this time which includes Patrick Weekes.
No longer is it only going to Hudson and Mac Walters working alone, it is the whole crew this time.
I know that people are saying that BW is not listening, but you know, if they weren't listening, they would not even be doing this much, making clarifying DLC. So we have had an impact on them and on things with Bioware.
We just can't give up, we need to keep doing what we can to influence a better ending, a better outcome, something more befitting of Mass Effect.
But we can't be doing things like giving up and we certainly can't be acting rude, negative, and being jerks about it all. Respect while holding the line, remember that.
So there's cryptic stuff going on with Jessica Merizan and Michael Gamble and others, hasn't changed much has it? It could be PR, but it could easily be hints and enticements too.
Either way, we need to hold the line and keep pushing for an ending that fits, plus, would you want to know how it ends, other than the possibility of a happy ending or different endings.
Would you want to know exactly how it ends? I understand if you do.
But you know what, they might surprise us good, think about it!!!
Look I know it is tough, and I know we are tired and that's okay, It's easy to fight when you're strong, right now is when it counts, when we don't have anything else but each other.
Let's draw on each other for strength, for hope, to keep fighting and pushing forward, we cannot give up, we must keep holding the line.
I am hoping and believing that we will end up with more, much more than we are expecting, especially given what we have heard as of late from Patrick Weekes and Jessica Merizan.
I know there is skepticism and that's okay. I understand, we were hurt by the ending, it's easy to become cynical and not believe that things can be better, but if we walk around with that attitude, then we won't get anything done, anything changed, anything influenced.
Did we impact anything with Bioware and bring about the things we have already pushed for by being cynical? We didn't did we? So let's stop with the cynicism, the negativity and impatience and get back to influencing.
Something I have noticed with Jessica Merizan at least is that when people are rude and hateful to her, they are going to get an answer other than what they want, so stop it, those who are doing it.
I think we need to learn to give a little, have a little patience and have a little trust.
If we did not trust them at all, would we be influencing things to change and would we have gotten this far.
I am not saying that we not be watchful, but I am saying we have a little more tact, a little more courtesy and a little more faith.
It's okay to be cathartic, but let's not get tasteless, let's show class and not give anyone reason to write us off as whiners and crybabies, let's try to establish a common ground with BW where we can have a win-win.
Whether online corresponding or personally, let's try and get a win-win going.
I have thought about some of the reasons for threads on the BSN forums being locked and when you think about it, some of them have had quite a bit of venom in them, I know we want to be able to influence and get things changed, I know we are frustrated, but fighting words and bile and trash talk and slamming the staff and everyone is not going to help, let alone get anything done, It will only get us told off, our threads locked, and people banned, so stop it.
We've come a long way in a month, let's not lose that with wrong attitudes and wrong thinking, let's get our heads back on straight, take time off if need be, and have some more positive thinking and positive attitudes.
Good night and hold the line.
A little bit of rough editing, no one likes walls of text, thanks for your post, but I should point out that in this particular thread the participants have been gold for nearly 2000 pages.
