I give up hope for Bioware to make the ending right. They have failed and have failed to secure my wallet I will wait well after any game they ever release if I even buy from them after this debacle. From Bioware doing no wrong to sh*t list and all they had to do was ACTUALLY deliver on what they said (16 Different endings) not some Red Blue Green light show.
No one said this would be easy, but we need to keep this up. If we don't hold the line, then everything we've struggled for was for not. I want Bioware admit they messed up and change the ending ASAP just as much as the next guy, but I know it won't happen over night. We live in a time where nearly everything is at our finger tips. Information, entertainment, communication, all at the click of a button. IMO, one of the reasons why our generation is so cynical is because we're so used to instant gratification that, when something takes time, we see the endever to not be worthwhile. Please, I know it's hard to be faced with such a struggle. It's going to take time before we get what we want.
Gandhi preached none violent resistance because he knew that it would reveal the injustice of British opression. He knew that the truth was on his side. Today, we stand with the truth on our side. If we hold the line though the PR crap, through the attempts of censure, through the lackluster efforts to blindside us, we will succed. And our success will insure that this young medium will grow as an artform. One, where story is just as important as gameplay, where the promises of the developer are important. It is for these reasons, and this goal that we strive to achieve, that we hold the line.
Stand tall.
Stand firm.
Hold the line.

I've been thinking about all the endings, and the only logical one is to destroy them. That was the goal through all 3 games, from 2007 till now, number one thing on Shepard's To-Do List was "Destroy Reapers".
So if you choose the control ending, you've basically just shot yourself in the foot. All through ME3 you've been fighting Cerberus and TIM. Telling him he's wrong, there's no way you're gonna let that happen, 5 minutes before you choose the ending, you tell TIM that humans aren't ready for that kind of power, and you kill him. Then you just change your mind out of the blue? Go completely out of character, and go,"Welp, TIM was right,...."
The Synthesis ending is just mindless gibberish. One, Geth/synthetics don't have DNA, so there is nothing to mix organic DNA with to create a new strand. The only way that would work is through Space Magic. Two, Mordin specifically says in ME2 that combining with synthetics will basically doom that civilization. It would cause the culture to stagnate, and there would never be any kind of progression after that. Plus Javik talks about the ancient race that mixed with synthetics and that civilization was destroyed.
So destroy is the only logical choice. It is the goal you originally set out to do. The only thing I'm wondering is why Bioware gave us those other options. They go against the entire story they created up until that point. It goes completely out of character for Shepard. And it just kills suspension of disbelief.
What they should have had is a Happy Ending, Reapers are destroyed, All races come together and survive, Shepard lives along with Normandy.
Reapers win, all races are harvested, Shepard dies, Normandy dies, everyone dies.
Then you have many shades of grey in between depending on choices and EMS. Reapers are destroyed, but Shepard has to sacrifice himself.
Reapers destroyed, but at the cost of Earth.
Reapers Destroyed, but most of Galaxy destroyed too, leaving the pre space-flight races alive.
and so on in the other direction.
So Bioware You Blew It!

You do realize that, in the real world, fighter training actually involves...well...training?
That said, I'd wager dollars to doughnuts that I could mop the floor with you in a sparring session. I've had no formal training to speak of, but I can hold my own in a grapple and I fight dirty.
Edit: This post is good-natured. I don't want to hurt anybody.

Exactly! Make the war assets matter and give us an ending that fits the series.
One of the arguments against the Retake movement is that the Mass Effect series has always had an illusion of choice to begin with. The end of the first game had Saren always dying before being taken over. You really just got to choose to save teh Council or not. In the second game, you got to decide to save or destroy the base. The main "choices" were how well you prepared depending on how well the Suicide Mission went. That is what I thought the war assets would have been... help or hurt the final battle against the reapers.
The whole StarChild ending gave Shepard "more" choices (even if the cutscenes were exactly the same sans a different color). But they made no sense! Destroy was always the end goal. So why not give us the "illusion of choice" we have always had and give us the conclusion we wanted/deserved. Our war assets would actually matter and the ending would fit with the way the trilogy had been structured.

Beside, it can be used as a denomination for bad situations and whatnot. Like, say, being bought up and then closed by EA.

Yes I do know that~! I've deleloped my own style of fighting with two weapons... My da has an armory of different weapons that he lets me train with, which the only reason I'm so in shape, is because of the training that I've done throughout my life...Goodwood wrote...

Maybe, but I gotta quote Jim Raynor on this one, "I ain't licked yet,". And EA has taken a pretty big hit from all of this. The Worst Company in America award isn't the only bad news EA's been dealing with lately. Also, they have been losing a lot of money recently. Believe me, I'm a realist too, but I still have hope.
