I've said before the only way bioware could lose its pole position would be if they screwed up big time then defended it. Thus opening the door for conpetitors. Looks like that train might have pulled into the station.

If you'll check a couple of pages back the information in that article was debunked as a misunderstanding -- could you please remove it?

Looked but couldn't find it.  Also disproving one or two cases as a misunderstanding does not change the pattern.  The article was more about the pattern than any specific case.  Many who have monitored this thread have seen people post about other threads being locked and not always for violations of forum rules.

What is the overall point of this thread? I mean not to be rude or anything I just don't understand why this particular thread has so many posts. What are you guys really trying to do with this thread? it seems to have a very good following we should use it to wake Bioware up lol, twitter sucks I can't say what I want to say to those sorry *** writers and devs, liers. They willingly bent over for EA, say what you want they cut to much from ME3, ME1 and 2 was the end of the franchise hands down, a few good things here and there in ME3 don't make it one of the best games in the franchise ME1 and 2 were epic and in a league of their own.....period.

Huh, sorry, it was a little further back than I thought. Posting the quote here with apologies for any pyramiding:

We've had Rob in here, the story is not completely accurate.

Coming back in to back up double 07.

The banning was just an accident and a misunderstanding, I worked everything out with the mod team.

I'm not sure about the patterns being reported in that article but if that's a valid point then that's fine, I guess just that that article should be considered alongside this disclaimer out of respect for Rob and whoever caused the accident.

I wonder that sometimes. The reason it got so large in the first place was because when the slew of ending-related threads started appearing, they encouraged us to gather in one place. At this point people do use it to hang out, and we still do discuss the ending. There's just not much more to do at this point. I don't know if/how we could use this to get BioWare's attention. They do have their own thread for gathering feedback, and we don't know how exactly feedback is being taken on board right now.

Honestly I think the mods all but abandoned this thread about 3000 pages ago. Mostly we just complain and commiserate and band together in non-denominational prayer circles for ME3 to somehow turn into the game we all wanted it to be. Hippie song circles should be started around page 4000 or so, my best guess.

Make no mistake, though, that Bioware and EA are AWAKE. And taking a horrible pounding to the profit margin. The fact that Casey Hudson is not in tears on youtube screaming "LEAVE ME3 ALONE!  PLEASE!  IT'S ONLY A GAME!" does not mean that they are not aware of reactions. It's like how, when the auto-makers discover a fault in a line of cars, they sit down and examine the cost of a recall vs. the cost in HUMAN LIVES that this flaw would end. More specifically, the cost in lawsuits from distraught family members.

It's not as if they believe the game is perfect, they're just trying to make a measured response. It's damage control. If they were scrambling around in a panic it would just lower the stock prices even more.

@chidingewe8036

The point of this thread at this point in time I think is a place where we can come and just talk to each other, being able to commiserate about the way we feel about the ending of ME 3 while we wait to see what Bioware does with the EC DLC this summer.

*edit

and sagevallant said it much better than I ever could.  Thank you good sir or madam :)

The only banning I heard about was the "Hold the Wallet" group being shut down. Which seems entirely fair to me, considering if walked into a Wal-Mart and started shouting for people to not buy their crap, I would be asked to leave. If I was still breathing when they extracted me from the mob of furious rednecks pulverizing me.

People have been allowed to civilly voice their complaints about the game on the forum, and every day or two this thread gets a new commenter. And God knows how many new readers. How many threads for the purpose of ragging on the Star Child does this forum need, anyway?

And Jetfire, haha that comic was a great explanation. Even, dare I say it, more plausible than the ending. ;)

Mister Connery, the "Hold the Wallet" thread to replace the one that has been sacked, has once again been sacked.

Also, I wish Mr. Priestly would be a bit more polite when going about his duties. I get why the topic is getting banned, but his posts do make him kinda seem like the bad guy.

Let's not make any assumptions about him or anyone else involved with the company.

It's like how, when the auto-makers discover a fault in a line of cars, they sit down and examine the cost of a recall vs. the cost in HUMAN LIVES that this flaw would end. More specifically, the cost in lawsuits from distraught family members.

Actually, no: making an analogy between the video game industry and car manufacturers doesn't hold much water.  One cannot compare problems with a game and definitive safety issues with a vehicle.  The two have very little to do with each other.

It's not as if they believe the game is perfect, they're just trying to make a measured response. It's damage control. If they were scrambling around in a panic it would just lower the stock prices even more.

We really don't know for sure what they're doing.  There's been a TON of speculation: that is what this thread is about.  I'm certainly not defending them, but I have heard quite enough of the media and other individuals call those of us who desire a completed product "entitled" that I'd rather not fall into the same trap of assuming much until I see definitive results.

You're right. The car industry shouldn't bother with the profits and rush out to save lives. But they don't. ^_^

Look, my point was that Bioware/EA is weighing their options and moving forward carefully. Will it cost more to make a proper ending than it would be worth in customer loyalty? (I'm going to guess that EA is being left out of the loop on the "business ethics" part of the discussion :innocent:)

Bioware did not lock down because they think they are right and we are wrong. They don't want to make promises that won't be kept because that'll just be a repeat of this whole fiasco. And remember, there may well be people out there who did like the ending. I wonder why they aren't on the forums with a 3500 page thread about how great the game is, but w/e. There are probably some out there somewhere. On a tangent,  I assume they've never played Deus Ex either.

Hopefully that means he's got is head down with the rest of the team in an attempt to appease at least a large part of the fan base, they are certainly not going to please everyone, that's pretty evident in just Retake alone.
