When a thread gets to be of this side, general chat kind of becomes inevitable. All general topics have been exhausted, but the second any news comes through, it becomes a point of conversation. I think that's a point that the Tali thread could never really have going for it.

Not really. The reason they cited after v2 on was that 1) the page counts were too large and the servers couldn't handle it and 2) forumites were using the thread as a chat thread, which it was not supposed to be.

The reason they banned the recreation of it (IIRC) was because Tali fans consistently ignored this warning and used it as a chat thread. There were also the inappropriate images that fans kept posting despite being warned, the regular flamewars as disgruntled fans of other characters popped in to troll, and the general attitude of Tali fans.

If you read the OP of the latest Tali thread though, you'll see which issue was more glaring:

Anyway, have any of you come to a consensus about what is likely to happen in the EC?

Buwahahahaha Oh jeez I just thought of some an animation that some one should do, have the whole ending thing up until Shep has to choose, then have her/him use the shout that summons the dragon,  who then eats the kid and then everything just goes crazy as the crucible becomes a Thanix Cannon and it blows away all the Reapers in one shot...

Hahahaha! that would be brilliant tbh, you know I actually though that was what the crucible was going to do....become a giant gun and blast this sh*t out of the reapers. While Shepard and co. fight Harbinger

I'm of a similar mind. However I hold out hope/am witholding judgement until it comes out. I hope it's good, but I expect it to be bad. Curse you Garrus and your accurate life philosophies!

That they will retcon the destruction ending, removing it's consequenses, while trying desperately to replace them with all the stuff a happy ending needs.

Basically converting "Destruction" into a Magic Party Happy Time™ choice .

Either that or just add some cutscenes of clarifiication. Both these options suck.

The Talimancer thread was locked down for the above stated reasons, yes, however a couple of other things need to be pointed out as well. First, that thread was an image-spammer's paradise; you couldn't go more than two or three pages (that's twenty-five posts per page on default settings) without the requisite barrage of Tali images (as much as thirty images per posts). Second, there wasn't as large a center of gravity for the whole group that had made the thread their unofficial home; it was pretty much nothing but squee, commentary about squee, or squee-bashers (again, goes back to what GuardianAngel said, there were some "angry moments").

This thread, though it does have more chattering than is perhaps tolerable, does a magnificent job of policing itself (for example, DJBare's reminders and link posts). We also don't go overboard on the images, instead linking to them or asking new users to do the same. Most importantly, however, we suck in all the new users who first came to the BSN to vent their feelings and invite them to our circle of friends, acting as an informal support/therapy group. The mods know this, so I don't foresee an ironclad 10,000-page closure in the future. When this thread does finally come to an end, it will be because of one (or more, possibly all) of the following reasons: the central issue is addressed to a reasonable degree of satisfaction with the Extended Cut DLC, the central issue is not addressed to a reasonable degree and BioWare decides to simply move on, or the thread suddenly erupts in a huge flame war.

That's just my two pence, however.

What about Wrex and the Krogan ground teams? I've got them fighting Harb in mine, at least up until Shep flips the Crucible on... I've been debating wether or not to have Wrex or Grunt be the one to fire a Cain into Harb's eye thing, or have Shep come back down and do it... or maybe even have Joker get the final shot in. Hm speaking of which I should work on either that or my actual home work tomorrow, after I spend sometime playing The Whitcher 2...

Well for one, is there a way to explain how the Normandy conviently landed on a planet that was breathable? Instead of an answer such as:

"Oh you know it just so happened to be there"

Also I just discovered peanutbutter and fluff.... how have I not heard of this awesomeness yet? Am I out of touch?

Yeah... he was on to something there... too bad I was way to entraced by Liara to really listen to him... Even though I'm on my 7th playthrough I've still yet to really listen to any of his lines, except the ones from when you do the shooting contest on the Citadel...

I'm sure they'll pull up a long and complicated explanation and maybe be able to make some logical sense as to how it happened. The implications of that scene will always be distasteful to me, however.

And yeah, I hear that stuff's good! Never had it though. It's really hard to find marshmellow fluff here.
