I liked Amalur, just don't expect anything groundbreaking. But then I did play it straight after I finished FFXII-2 so that may have colored my impressions slightly.

I watched the opening sequence walk-through of FF on YouTube and i was like "seriously?" A side-scrolling combat system mixed with a on old-school choose-your-own-adventure DVD like Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future?

What Amalur achieved is merging the RPG elements into the background so that they did not intrude into the forground. Since there is no real pausing to do special attacks everything flows real nicely. Of course, them it feel likes a console button masher.

But mostly Amalur is just a whole bunch of pretty, layer on top of layer, when it comes to the graphics.

Compare that to ME3 which felt hollow and constrained. When we ended up going back to the citadel I expected at least as much open space as in ME1.

Kai Leng is a wuss. If Bioware wants to have a wussy villain, I guess it's their choice. They can't all be Loghain :(

There are tons of places where we'd all like more of the game. Just not the ending, cutting the game at the end of the Anderson conversation and the whole place blows up would've been better. More time with the characters we've grown to love over the past two games, less time with Vega. >.>

Going through an episodic mission with each teammate in turn seems kind of hollow. A foreshadowing of the day when Bioware will release a game and you have to buy each mission individually for $3 per. A day when there will be hardly any overarching story at all. And I do not like it.

Oh no, I dont want a Miranda DLC. I just mean from a writing standpoint, if Miranda is ON THE COVER of ME-2 and former trusted employee of TiM, not having her at Cronos makes no sense at all. Instead, they push EDI and Kai Leng to the forefront there.

Also, Kai Leng and that random british guy in the shuttle, are two characters that I know nothing about, yet Shepard's dialogue with them makes it seem like I should know them. I didn't want to meet anyone new in ME-3. I think that's what Bioware also missed when they wrote this game. You can't throw new characters at me unless you have time to make me understand them, like the Female Krogan shaman. They took the time for Shepard to speak to her, understand her stuggle, her pain, her history, all in what, 10 lines of dialogue? Unlike Kai Leng, he is just forced upon Shepard until the game allows you to kill him.

There's no reason why Shepard couldn't have just gotten the Prothean VI then, killed Kai Leng, gone to Sanctuary, picked up Miranda, gone to Cronos station, then gotten the message about the Citadel/Reapers/TiM, go to London

I really didn't get why she didn't initially join up? I wanted to be like "Hey remember when we rescued your sister last time? Yeah this is all going to go a lot quicker if you get on the Normandy, talk to Liara/Shadow Broker and then we go do your mission."

Lmao. I ran into one myself today. Given that I live in India, I should be running into them on a frequent basis, but it's the first one I've seen in a year. It was really big.

It went down something like this:

omg, EW.

See, when I lived in Japan, they were all over the place. In Brazil, I saw more rats and lizards than anything else. I never expected to have problem with cockroaches in central Pennsylvania in the middle of spring...

Large-ish bugs scare me senseless, not sure why. I don't know how roaches are in Japan, but in India they are freaking huge. That rendering I posted is how I actually always feel while getting rid of them, lol (which is why I drew it a while back).

Good luck dealing with your problem.

Armalur is an EA game.... While I played the demo and liked it well enough, I'm not about to go out and buy yet another EA game, because I personally don't support their business practices, that however doesn't mean that I won't for all time, it just means that until the rectify the situation, I'm not buying their games... Which is sad cause some of the small companies under EA's control make really good games, like the guys who made Amalur...

Big Huge is their own company, not owned by EA. They are distributed by EA and EA invested a chunk of mnoey to get the game out the door, but Big Huge is otherwise it's own little company owned by Curt Schilling. They deserve our support to grow. Wether or not EA gets a cut is less important than helping this small company grow.

Witcher 2 is distributed by Atari which used Digital River for online sales and download support. I can assure you they are more irritating and impossible to deal with than EA.

Curt Schilling actually owns Studio 38 and not Big Huge. Thought I might as well point that out.

The answer as to why they couldn't just add Miranda in is because they were to lazy to program in another squad mate into the game. Simple as that.

And that BioWare wanted a smaller crew to chose from. Seriously, did anyone complain about the size of the ME2 crew. I felt that was one of the cool things about ME2, having your own dirty dozen to take down the collectors with. Seriously, why did they think reducing the crew size was a good idea?

They wanted a smaller crew to choose from because they were too lazy to program the rest. Time constraints, whatever it was, there's no excuse.

The one thing that confused me and maybe I missed this while playing.  When Shep is trying to find the Cerberus headquarters you do the Miranda/sister quest on Horizon.  Miranda says she's put a tracking device on Kai Leng's ship, but doesn't Miranda already know where TIM's base is as she was there talking to him at the start of ME2.

I always assumed TIM did the space equivalent of putting a bag of their head when the baddies drive someone back to their base.  Sure she could tell the alliance, well look for the big blue star, but that wouldn't really be helpful.
