I honestly do no care at all that the endings are so similar, i don't care about anything except the fact that shepard dies in almost all of them, and even if she/he does live her loved ones are gone forever.

Sashimi I agree with you fully, all I want is for either
1) Shepard to live, with his crew and LI at his side
2) Shepard to die, with his crew and LI doing so also at his side

Instead we get a combination of rocks on everyone - except the Normandy and crew which becomes Mass Effect: LOST.

I'd really prefer at least one option for a happy-ever-after ending but I get it, this is war, but is asking for all the characters we've come to love over the years to end up together really too much to hope for?

I LOVE mass effect, plz dont't to let me down secret ending :crying:

Wouldn't it be ironic if we all spent the next four days wishing for this ending and then it turns out to be even worse? What if it's something dumb like Shepard is actually a reaper. I might snap my game discs in two.

Oh man, imagine the unfettered, colossal, unimaginable RAAAAAAAAAAAAGE if this did turn out to be a joke ending that Bioware worked really hard on and put thought into, and the actual endings are exactly as have been discussed thus far.

I would love to see tears over this, i kinda wish the whole fish ending is just a crappy easter egg just to spite the crybabies on the board

Really the only ending that makes sense to me is control. Also I can headcanon I get the Reapers to fix the relays, get Liara and she can now romance Guardian!Fiona, lol. Merge and Destroy make no sense at all.

THAT'S IT! The reapers attacked Earth because we have FISH! "So long and thanks for all the fish!".

I'm joking. But hey.

Even for giving the small glimmer of hope, I say this:
I...AM...A...FAN...
of
I...AM...KROGAN.

If we're going to have to wait out the next few days, it's less depressing to do so thinking there's a ray of hope. Even if then everything turns out as suspected. At least then it's over quicker.

I'm the one talking about secret joke endings and I don't even buy it. In all likelihood it's a stupid easter egg/Douglas Adams reference. That's the first thing I figured judging from what the strat guide says.

I'm just imaginging the community rage if it did turn out to be a joke ending, and it gives me a ginormous troll-happy.

Why is everyone getting so excited? People have been saying that there is a "secret" ending mentioned in the Prima guide since the endings were first leaked, but nobody who has the game has found them, there is no mention of them in the files, and there was no cinematic scene for one leaked on Youtube.

I'm not going to let any ending, good or bad, keep me from enjoying the game when it comes out.

Besides, with what few spoilers I've read (including some of the stuff about the ending), I feel as if it would only make sense in context, so I will not judge the endings until I face them in context.

And, remember, some of the greatest stories in history have had downer endings. And this series is basically about fighting Space-Cthulhu, so a happy ending wasn't going to be in the offing. Mere survival was always going to be best possible outcome, and there certainly wasn't going to be a "EVERYBODY LIVES" type of ending. The Galaxy is a deadly place, folks.

It could be an in-game rendered scene. We do not know if Xoisite beat both games with the Paddlefish. The Paddlefish IS a war asset.

The strategy guide distinctly says that there is an extra ending, and the question is the connection that pertains to it. Even if we can't find it right away, there may be something buried deep in the files of this game.

This.

I don't have a problem overly much with Mac Walters choosing to go with that sudo-arthouse film ending that has the Normandy being seperated from a Galaxy equally cut off from one another. I get it, you're going for the Oscar this year. However, at least provide an option where the crew gets to live out the remanider of long lives together without fear of some tragic nonsense or another. After everything they've been through, it's the least this group of heroes and noble souls deserves, especially Shepard who, even in the good ending, essentially gets Anakin Skywalkered and turned to Jerky. Nice.

I wouldn't call billions of dead a "Everybody Lives" type of ending.
In my opinion the ending should be based on players skills/choices, but meh,,,

I don't think it's a secret fish ending, I think the "secret ending" and the "fish war asset" are two totally different things. But still, it would be a MIRACLE of epic proportions if said secret ending turned out to be something better than the "rocks fall" ending.

I was going to say "cookie cutter" ending but a cookie cutter wouldn't have the strength needed to reshape our expectations from what we've been told all along, into the pile of poo they're giving us. You'd need more like a 5 megaton hydraulic stamping machine to do that.

I agree. I think people will be more accepting of the endings once they are taken into context.

Personally, as I have gained more knowledge about them, I find the endings not too shabby. However, the main complaint is that there isn't a diversity of endings and outcomes for the variety of choices present throughout all three games. It's as if the endings are thrust onto a player without any thought.

Exactly, that's what I mean. There was never going to be a Everybody Lives ending.  Even if the super-secret Fish ending somehow lets you destroy the reapers while keeping the relays open and such and isn't just a nice character moment with Liara, there will still be billions dead.
