The problem is we cannot simply *wait* for the extended cut DLC to come out. Because when it does, I can guarantee you for better or worse the "line" will be gone. If its a huge dissapointment people are still going to be angry, but this time no media articles are going to cover it. And the Bioware defenders are simply going to rally and say "look, they're still not satisfied even after we gave them what they wanted" since they've been so accurate in their fact finding in the past I'm sure they think the EC DLC is falling onto all of the categories of what we want.

So in short, the time to keep the pressure up is *now* while things are still malleable and can still be changed. Not 3 or 4 months down the road when the EC DLC comes out and most people have moved on or watch the DLC and tell themselves "I'm done" either because they were satisfied or they don't want to spend another six months beating their head against a wall in vain.

This is exactly it.

I am with the others here who are saying, this is not the time nor is it the place for this. We are getting a response, they are making the EC DLC, come summer we will find out if they did what was right or not. Then we can take things up a notch if needed, however, right now, we need to be patient and wait.

If we wait until they release the EC, then there is nothing that can be done after that.

We need to move now, while they are still making it.  This gives us the chance to make them put more effort into it, resulting in better endings for everyone.

Respectfully disagree with you... one would have had the same argument after ME3 came out... and we've already shown that it's not the end, if you have enough people with one voice, politely, civilly voicing their complaints, you can break through these media/publisher walls and effect real change.

You know what, I have a ton of stuff I want to say, but all it's going to do is raise my blood pressure, so I'm just going to agree to disagree and stand by what I've already said, and hopefully the cooler heads on this thread will prevail.

Relax.  I'm not angry with you or anything.  We are both united in trying to get better endings, right?

I only want Bioware to be aware of the financial consequences should they turn the EC into a slideshow like how they ended DragonAge.  Bioware also needs to cut out the lies and the awful behavior, too.

I'm a friend, not an enemy.

In this case, keeping the pressure up does not mean going on the attack. I don't know how well you know your military history, but think of it like the Battle of Bloody Ridge on Guadalcanal. The Japanese kept charging and charging the Marines' lines, running pell-mell at the entrenched defenders in wave upon wave of humanity, only to be cut down in their hundreds. What the Marines did there was above and beyond; they held the line, they kept up the pressure, they didn't give ground unless they absolutely had to, and they carried the day. Henderson Field was saved, and we retained our toe-hold on the island.

Because the Marines held the line, we ended up winning at Guadalcanal. And from there, the tide of the Pacific War was turned.

Yes but that was because the Japanese couldn't afford to have a protracted land based fight with the US once they had a foothold on the island. Overall the Japanese had a fleet that was slightly smaller than the US less resources to maintain their army and less people to draw on to sustain a full conflict pound for pound against the US. Especially when they were loosing so much air influence in china.

Essentially they threw themselves at the Americans trying to get them off the island because if they didn't they would be facing endless waves of reinforcements until they would be overwhelmed, whereas the Americans had the advantage of setting up defensive lines and just waiting for the bulk of their forces to get there to overrun ****** positions.

We have the oposite problem.

We're holding the line, while more and more of our people get called away by real life and disinterest, while the oposition maintains its strength or gains strength in the worst case scenario. If the time ever comes for us to charge its gonna be like pushing a mountain at the best case scenario

Here's a side by side comparison. I have it on PC, and it is definitely heaving on resources, especially if you turn on ubersampling.

360 looks like PC Medium, with washed out colors.

It's not like we're sitting on our hands doing nothing. We're continuing to hold the line. We're sending in emails and posting in the feedback thread, we're keeping up with twitter feeds and checking media outlets daily. No one's forgot about us, no one's eased off the pressure.

OK. I think we all saw the protest that is being organized. So, whoever wants to join it, please, go the forum cited. Most people here will go, I have no doubt. As of myself, I will read it and follow as the ideas mature. But I don't know exactly what is being proposed, and I need to know if it's really not just trashing each other in the end.

So, let's all stop discussing it here, and keep looking into both forums. But let's not use these forums for both things. Or they will all get closed, and we will accomplish nothing. On both fronts.

To take this away from the military metaphors and the attendant hazards therein, I'd like to propose a different analogy:

The Retake movement, at least in this thread, to me holds a lot of parallels to the fight against segregation and other abuses of basic human rights and liberties. We feel persecuted by an uncaring power and rightfully so, and rather than forming a revolutionary faction bent on victory at any cost, we have instead used the means that are available to us as Internet citizens. We use forums and blogs, which are the bus stops and cafaterias of our day, to stage nonviolent forms of protest such as sit-ins, peaceful demonstrations, assembies of like-minded individuals who gather together to say their piece and argue for a better tomorrow.

We are the line. We are not the enemy. We are not afraid.

And we will win.

I agree the detail's less, it's running on a 5 year old computer basically on the 360.  However the color seems to depend on your TV quality.  The PC trailers don't look nearly as good as the actual game does colorwise for me on the TV... mind you my TV is pretty much top of the line brand new.

Looking at the specs on that computer, I think it should run it just fine.  There's a site called Can you Run it which allows you to pick the game you're interested in, and it will scan your computer and tell you if you can run it, also give you an idea of how well you'll be able to run it.

When I first played The Witcher 2, my computer wasn't much better than yours. My cpu was a little faster, that's it. I was able to run it on high at 1080 with 35-45 fps. You should be able to run it fine at high, as long as you turn a couple things off. Turn off ubersampling, ssao, keep anti-aliasing down a little, and it should be fine.

At the very least you can run it on medium, which is basically what 360 is, and it should be cheaper on pc.

That's just my opinion though, PC's are a fickle mistress, you could have a beast of a computer and still run games like garbage, there's so many variables.

Yeah I live between this one and the Kaidan thread.
