My dvd-box is the remastered version... I could live with everything else, but Christensen at the end is kinda sortahorrible awfulan abomination.

It's not. It's only 480p resolution on VHS, it's equivalent to like 512 mb. A 3.5 hour 1080p video fits on a BluRay disc which holds 50gb.
Magnetic Tape drives are a whole other beast, they're designed to store backups.. and most companies don't actually use tape drives anymore, fibre optic/offsite NAS usually. My work we store global data from all around the world on backups onsite using 10gbps fibre, and then offsite in NAS boxes that get shipped out in locked cases with bonded couriers in case there's a fire or whatever. Magnetic we haven't used in 10 years.
The CGI in the remastered edition sorta works, since it's less frequent in the original trilogy. But the new three... *sighs* I suppose I can give Phantom Menace a break, if I keep my hammer near me, but the other ones... I don't know which is worse, Christensen's acting, or the way Anakin was written. I actually feel sorry for the Emperor, being stuck with his whiny ass for decades.chmarr wrote...
OH MY GOd i want to marry you now, your just 1 of VERY FEW people i know agree with what you said, lucas totally destroyed the star wars movies by remaking so much of it in CGI like the CGI jabba in the first one >.<

That's current magnetic tech then. If VHS could hold that much we'd be using it instead of magnetic harddrives for the past 20 years.
Incidentally "new-ray" also probably requires the blood of the innocent to unlock the DRM being Sony *snickers*
