What, you don't like getting lectured for 20 minutes about how you were to stupid to understand the ending? lol. I said the same thing when it was posted here yesterday, but the article is a joke. It makes many assumptions, and just makes even more stuff about the game to fit it's slanted angle. That anyone can take it's theoy at face value is laughable.

Omg, I just picked one of the links to get to some of scientific stuff and I'm like "did you play the game? or were you too busy reading about Grey Goo theories?" The ending is just bad writing, period...

Yeah...there's no way around it.  The ending was just...bad.  Most of the game was reasonably good (with the exception that all of the choices made in the first games are absolutely pointless, ex.  killed the Rachni queen? NOPE, LOLZ RACHNI BACK!!!11).

Just to clarify, UCMJ is a US Military thing.

Canadian Military, of which I see quite a bit of parallels (which makes sense being as Bioware's in Edmonton which  is a hub for the Canadian Air Force) with Mass Effect.  Up here you can get dismissed for disconduct, and dismissed with disgrace for disconduct.. I'm pretty sure the first one only needs the equivalent of an admiral's mast with no appeal, where as the second requires a full court martial. (Again, not entirely sure on that once again so someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Off topic related fact - Canada can do fully electronic webcammed court martials, they've got a courtroom in Gatineau, Quebec that's fully outfitted to try/convict someone in Afghanistan (if we were still there).  Shepard wouldn't have to return to earth to get Court Martialled 150 years from now I would almost guarantee, just holo in..etc

Here too, you can, I know that for a fact as my first husband was discharged for misconduct after a Captain's Mast, he however was a Petty Officer 3rd class, enlisted E-4.  However, and this is why I went and researched the UCMJ, that only applies to enlisted here.  Where as someone of Command rank or flag rank, cannot be discharged with strictly an Admiral's Mast (these would be like a summary judgement by the one in direct command of the person in question, no one else is involved, no lawyers etc) and cannot be demoted beyond the lowest rank, not stripped of rank without a full Court Martial.

I am using the UCMJ because it is what I am most familiar with and as it seemed like to me that the Systems Alliance took a lot of it's procedures from the US Military I referenced that.  However, I could be completely wrong, the nit picker in me just wishes that there had been given more info regarding that.

The U.S. and Canada were merged into the United North American States some 50 or so years before First Contact. So there may have been a bit borrowed from both the U.S. and Canada's military since they mirror each other closely.

Yes, I did!! They came in last Thursday and exterminated the floor. I haven't seen any cockroaches ever since then and no one has complained. I have a feeling I will find a dead one when I move out, but I'll worry about that then lol
