Was listening to this song, and it on it's own reminds me of how awesome the ending of Mass Effect 2 was, and just why I (used to?) love the Mass Effect Series so much.

Good song and great thoughts. That song does a fantastic job capturing the epicness (for want of a better word) of the final ME2 mission -- which for most intents and purposes actually did feel like a suicide mission; a real, gruelling battle where your team actually had to work together and you could choose to absolutely bomb, or work hard enough and
win. You can't win ME3. And sure, you can try to be trendy and make a video-game less like a video-game -- however that's meant to work -- but you better know what you're doing. They didn't. Turns out trying to make the ending of an epic game and finale to a trilogy less like the ending of an epic game is one of those things that you really shouldn't screw with. Which is basically what you said in your post. Haha.

It sucks, because I loved listening to that song. Now there's a whole lot of bittersweet in it.
