I can't even pick the character's gender...so no, not good enough :pinched:

To dismiss the Witcher games based on that alone is sad really. At least it has more than 1 ending Image IPB

Sorry? Haha. I can't stand playing as a male character; that's just how I am. Blame Pokemon for introducing me to the awesomeness that is to play a character that you can give your own name and pick your gender.

Why not? I played Jade Empire & Fallout 3 as a female. The Witcher games tell great stories, even if they are through a male point of view. Plus its based off books & it would be good for Gerelt to change genders based on his back story.

Do it! Then make another one named Blue and Green Shepard :devil:

Lol, we should be able to name our Rival, or at least pick from a preset list,

Commander you must stop IDIOTFACE123 before he reaches the mew relay...

OMG!! Hahaha. I wish we could do that...

Now I see it; Pokemon Crystal on Gameboy Color offered more customization than ME3 or the Witcher 2...B)

I hope CD Projekt's next... uh, project, is a custom IP. I haven't played through either Witcher fully myself, but I do know how they play, and what happens in them. And I like almost everything about it.

If they could release a Bioware-ish game with a custom main character, I'm set to jump on board with whatever they make.

I don't mind playing male or female characters. The reason my main Shep is female <---- is because I'm a huge fan of ST:Voyager and I was trying to create my own Capt. Kathryn Janeway.

After Bioware, I think the closest is Obsidian Entertainment.

Partial track record :NWN 2, KOTOR 2, Alpha Protocol, Fallout New Vegas.

Seems good to me..

No!!! Image IPB 3 of the listed games are leech efforts off others work

That's why it's the closest. :P

NWN 2's main campaign was way better than NWN 1. NWN 1's replay value was in the mods and the nwvault.

Alpha Protocol has the "Mass Effect wheel", but the rest isn't a leech effort. It was very good depsite it's flaws.

Alpha was only good for the story the whole game part of it is bad. As for FNV I still havent forgotten how broken at game was at launch & its a complete leech off 3

Because...I don't want to? :huh:
I mean, I can't stand it; I get bored really fast. And also...I can go on and on about what I have against video games that forces you to be male (or female) and how it alienates an audience, but I'm pretty sure you don't want me to do that.

You know? I never thought about similarities between Shep and Janeway...

I'm hoping the current sales helped them out.  Witcher 2 was amazing and I'd love to see another IP that I actually want to preorder (as Witcher currently is for me)

I interpret this to mean that since both Synthesis and Control end up with Shepard indoctrinated. The save file doesn't care what path you took to get there.

The code never lies!

I'm add this into my stack I have for my theory - and theory for IT - as they said; the code never lies.....

NICE FIND!

More than likely it's related to that If you choose Control (We'll call it ending 1 for simplicity, 2 Synthesis, 3 destroy), it then sets a variable saying you chose ending 1.  It then does an IF THEN check (IF Ending == 1) ...etc and then checks your EMS rating... so

IF (Ending == 3)
{
          IF (EMS > 4000)
          {
                      ShowMovie(DestroyBreathEndingMovie);
          }

}

I suspect that's all there is in this case... it just once again shows that if you choose anything but destroy you're getting the same ending save a couple other characters coming out at the end.

Destroy, if it's true EDI doesn't come out, probably just factors into that condition statement.

Nope - doesn't have to do with EDI coming out or if you get shepard breathing - if you follow the thread - they checked that.......this check happens on all endings but only becomes checkmarked on destroy - doesn't matter your EMS - its checkmarked.

Reply to Phoenix and all Witcher fans

I'm polish myself .I never liked sapkowski and his copycat books . I never bought into the hype even when I lived in Poland years ago ....
It's a copy of Moork****'s eternal champion and Karl Edward Wagner's Kane series .
Both mentioned above are head over heals better literature than witcher ever will be .
And as good as witcher game is is not even close to any bioware games .not even in the same league .
Bioware games are unique and beyond anything in the market . We are all pissed off about that ending but as I said many times before .
I don't want Bioware to go out if business...never
All I want is them to listen to us and respect us .as we are the Bioware army .the Kamikaze of Bioware .the last line of fanatical supporters ....without us they will struggle ...
But we need to stay with them....and excert pressure .

Thats half the fun though, stepping into the shoes of something that you not in RL (In this case a different gender). It would be like saying that Conker is bad because you have to play as a squirrel or that Stubs is bad because you have to play as a zombie.

You know,  I'm trying very hard to remain optimistic about this whole thing and it's difficult sometimes. From the quality BioWare have produced in the past, the thought that there is an alternate ending (be it IT or something else) makes more sense than having this ending. It would also put certain tweets etc into perspective. Unfortunately while I would love to believe it the lack of response from BioWare and the fact that it has been so long (relatively speaking) since the game was released just makes it harder to believe. I would love it if you were right though. Here's to wishful thinking?

Question since I know nothing about coding - Could the difference in the code not just be the marker for the game to give you the "breath scene"?

I actually thought that difference in code was so you could the the "breath scene" since you only survive the whole thing if you pick destroy...:?

That's what I figured.....

As I said - it has nothing to do with the breath scene - because if that was true - it would only checkmark on destroy at a certain EMS - it checkmarks  destroy no matter what your EMS is - it does not checkmark on the others.....

While it checks on control and syth - it doesn't checkmark.......this is purely for after the ending - carrying on the story - aka after the ending DLC

1) Would you really be suprised by the bolded at this point? lol. All the dialogue here is poor, looking for a deeper meaning in poor writing is a fool's game.

2)Questioning him serves no purpose if Shepard still flings herself at her death. I don't need to simply need to mention the Geth/Quarian peace, I need it to mean something. Why bother challenging him if you're not going to win. It serves no purpose but to frustrate you when you hear more of star kids crap as to why you're still wrong

3) I don't want to see how they picked up my ground crew. Or why they ran away from that matter. I don't care what explanation they're making up for it now that people think it's stupid. There is no legitimate one.

4) For them to exploit that stupid Shepard breathes Easter Egg in the rubble would be a cop out...

In fact, simply changing the dialogue and perhaps the meanings of the 3 choices is itself a total cop out. There is no "fleshing it out". It is broken. It will remain broken. Keep the endings purely as is, and there's nothing there to salvage. They're wasting both their time and our time with that crap.

The only way extra dialogue works is if it supplements the creation of that fourth "I aint listenin' to you" option.

I personally am pessimistic that "clarity only" will be satisfyling, but feel that if all the writers put their heads together they may be able to produce something satisfying.  They did create Tuchanka after all. I'm still hedging my bets with the campaign, though.

For people who liked the Witcher series, there's also a tv series based on the books. I've seen all of the episodes on youtube. It's in polish, but they have subtitles. I thought it was pretty good for I'm sure the lack of budget they had.

I've read two of the books, the third hasn't been released in english, and I can't read the languages it's been released in, so I'm out of luck.

There's been talk about CD Projekt coming out with a new IP. There were some videos form ages ago, where they were asked about Witcher 3, and they had said they were more interested in going a different route for a while, and maybe coming back to Witcher later. There was lots of speculation that they were focusing on a new IP. Of course, this was before Witcher 2 EE came out for 360, so if it's successful enough, I'm sure they'll end up focusing on Witcher 3 instead.

Hmm...You don't get my main point: I don't like being forced into it. If the game doesn't give me the option, I won't play it. Period.

It's...a girl's thing. When you are a guy and 90% of the games are made for you, it is easy to say that. When you are a girl, and you want to play as one and you can't...well, it sucks. That's why I like Bioware: they understand both sides.

Sorry but you are never going to convince me to play the Witcher 2. I could do it but I would never get into it. ;)

P.S. non-human characters are different; it's a squirrel. I won't role play a squirrel...you might, but I'm not.
