People who still believe the "true ending" is out there still are getting into moon landing conspiracy territory now... Continued deception of this scale is pointless and increasingly hard to keep up, they may have planned to give more epilogue in the future but not in this timescale and scale

And no "But the moon landings were faked!" posts

But the true ending is still out there, its called fanfic & mods Image IPB

And then you can never play ME3 again because you modded it and Origin doesn't like that.

And mods do not work on console, so 2/3 of the platforms will still have the "fake" ending...

Part of my personal self-appointed responsibility, and that of everyone else on here is to ensure that our front line response remains civil, be that though simply answering questions, offering suggestions or polite criticism, or simply asking a fellow member to tone it down on Twitter...etc.  It's somewhat a point of movement pride that our main topic, the start of all of this, on Bioware's own forums, is a civil discussion.  I've had some Twitter and PMs on here from individuals working for Bioware saying they were quite proud of the community's staying civil on here.  Us simply abandoning our posts here doesn't help further that goal and it's something I, frankly, won't do.  No offence intended, I just feel that my responsibility to the BSN face of the movement is more important than this event.  I hope to take part in the Single Player On/Off event though!
*snip*

I agree. I try to stay calm and play nicely with others. I've even made some angry arguers into frenemies that way. Part of the design of the campaign was that people could choose to take part in whatever phase they personally agreed with, although for full effect it is best if everyone takes part in both days. For example, people who have decided they will never buy from Bioware no matter what can keep their game off both days, but because they never log in, they are never counted and so are "lost data" which just is a way of saying they will have no effect. People who play both days also will have no effect because they will be part of the "background." It's only by providing a contrast between days 1 and 2 that a departure from the "norm" can be seen.

Part of this is a morale boost for the movement, because it's easy to think that nothing is happening and the movement is stagnating/disbanding. Through doing this I've met some great people and it's rekindled my hope that something good can come out of this whole situation. Trying feels better to me than waiting did, so I invite all of you to take part and feel hopeful.
Anyway, thank you for your polite attention! Image IPB

I'm going to agree with Computim here. While I certainly don't overestimate the importance, or lack thereof, of my presence and contributions on this thread I will continue trying to help keep the thread civil and provide moral support to my fellow line holders. Image IPB

Ah, I didn't understand what you were saying before! I get it now that you feel you can't stay logged off because of your role as a thread administrator. I can certainly respect that. One thing you may want to consider is to monitor the thread while not logged in and only logging in intermittently in order to smooth things out if they get tangled, or to appoint a single administrator for that day who will remain logged in while the others are logged off. If I can convince enough people to take part in Turn it Off it may be quieter on the forum, though some pro-enders may have a field day. At this late stage, I'm not sure how many people I will get to avoid the forums, but I hope it will be a fair few. :)

Thats half the fun though, stepping into the shoes of something that you not in RL (In this case a different gender). It would be like saying that Conker is bad because you have to play as a squirrel or that Stubs is bad because you have to play as a zombie.

Hmm...You don't get my main point: I don't like being forced into it. If the game doesn't give me the option, I won't play it. Period.

It's...a girl's thing. When you are a guy and 90% of the games are made for you, it is easy to say that. When you are a girl, and you want to play as one and you can't...well, it sucks. That's why I like Bioware: they understand both sides.

Sorry but you are never going to convince me to play the Witcher 2. I could do it but I would never get into it. ;)

P.S. non-human characters are different; it's a squirrel. I won't role play a squirrel...you might, but I'm not.

Though would it not be odd for a guy to say he couldn't get into Perfect Dark simply because Joanna Dark is a chick?

That said I totally love the custom created character angle over the fixed character one myself. Hell, I often pick creating a female when given the choice, simply because I rarely get the chance to play as one otherwise.

It's just avoiding games because of the fixed characters gender seems like an odd way to limit yourself and the games you play. But if that's how you feel, then all the power to you.

Already without a suit? She's adapting quick.
Also: nice bum.

Her legs seem to be a bit too human, though.

Yeah, speaking as a developer by career, I routinely put in code PLANNING for someone to give me something later to add in..  My 'joke' among coworkers is "Plan for what you know they'll need, and just make them what they say they want.. just be ready to put the rest in when they realize they wanted what you planned".... in this case I suspect they were PLANNING a lot more elaborate ending, a large IT one, or at the very least more than red green blue placeholder ending.  I think they ran out of time though, so the code got left in, and the endings didn't change.

They may have PLANNED to have a better ending, I don't think they planned to release it afterwards though, I think they just dropped it when they ran out of time unfortunately.

This is pretty much what I personally believe now. I just want to get them the resources they need so they can do as they originally planned. Pipe dream? Maybe. But it beats giving up!:P

Yeah.. I really doubt we're going to get their grand ending they planned originally.. but it doesn't mean they can't make the current ending MAKE SENSE and actually be worthy of the ME Franchise... I mean some of the craziness they already have in ME proves that.... Conrad Vernier Anyone?

One of my favourite parts of the series haha.. I loved Conrad, nearly fell out of my chair laughing when I talked to him (especially in the context of his heroics)... then the whole tie in to the previous games... the whole "Because you were nice to him the whole time he suddenly matters in ways you never thought possible" haha.

What they weren't expecting is how many and how quickly people got together to say - this ending sucks.  They thought they'd have until end of April - May time frame to finish to full endings and release them for free.

The plan didn't work out - more and more details come out -

As its seen  - the code doesn't lie

It would be amazing if this wasn't the real ending but aside from some rather ambiguous tweets, what proof is there really to back it up? Seriously I would be over the moon (assuming it was good) if they released the "true" ending but I'm going to wait until we have something concrete to go on.

I wish this were true and I believed it at one time, but I think they would have 'fessed up by now if it were just a "Ha, ha, we got your real ending here" deal. The tweets and "hints" are so incongruous with the PR machine output that I'm not sure what to believe at this point. That's why I'm hedging my bets and giving them a nudge.

have to admit.  In the beginning I thought the ending could be a bluff, and that the true ending would come later as DLC.

I even thought that they were expecting the ****storm and after a few days were going to go.. "Tadahh!  We were only kidding. Here's the propper ending."

But the more I thought about it and the more time passed. I knew that this couldn't be the case.

Why would you release the true ending to a game as DLC when not everyone has internet access? And why would they spew the lies and "artistic integrity" BS instead of owning up to their true intentions?

Nope.  The ending was purely down to ego, lazyness and incompetence.

"So we can't get the ending we want after all?"

Not unless you were hoping for an ending that invalidated all your actions up until that point, drops your squadmates/friends like meaningless side plots, and forces you to commit suicide, in addition to possible genocide or manipulating life forms on a whim. If that's what you were hoping for pre-release, raise your hand!
