Even what happens to the Normandy?

Sincerally that's all that bothers me, it actually makes my stomach curl.

That is a major sticking point with me, though the Relays being destroyed is also something I'm not all that happy with.  We are fighting to save the galaxy, and we do that by setting it back hundreds if not thousands of years.

HEre here.  And, bad writing is bad.  I hate to say it, but there really should be some sort of happy ending option for those that wanted it.  This is Mass Effect, not Warhammer 40k.

This is from the readme file in my currently preloading copy of ME3:

"Special Thanks from BioWare
---------------------------
A special thanks to the fans and friends of BioWare. Your thoughts
and feedback on our website forums drive us to make great games."

Let's not condemn them people, let's help them.

I honestly don't get all of the angst and whining over the endings.

I made this post near the start of the thread and it's still just as valid now.

Did you really expect that Shepard and crew would be able to fight off the Reapers without consequences for themselves? As if it would resolve in a neat little package at the end like a fairy tale, or where the entire crew holds hands and sings "kumbaya"?

At the end of the day, BioWare best know how to blow us away and emotionally engage us with their rock solid, masterfully written, majestic stories. I'm sure while everyone likes to complain, do you really want a Mass Effect 3 to have a bland, lifeless ending?

Where's the drama in that?

Personally, I think it's a great ending, a completely logical conclusion based on the plot progression (that we've seen so far) and it doesn't feel artificial or forced at all. Most of you are just angry because you won't be able to live happily evar after with your LIs.

Well guess what, Mass Effect is not about a choose-your-own-romance-adventure sexual wish fulfillment mini-game, with appalling elements like shallow fanservice and over sexualization. It's a gritty, mature, adult story which will surely advance the medium in ways we can't even imagine.

And even if you still have unwarranted and entitled gripes over the endings, Mass Effect is a ROLEPLAYING GAME!

Just roleplay that everyone was able to survive and live happily ever after or something. Or that the colony thrives and everyone gets along without any hardship. Or that some other technology is invented which allows them to leave.

You people are too used to games like CoD and other junk that the mainstream industry puts out. Use your imaginations!

After all, isn't that the point of Mass Effect?

BioWare knows this, and they crafted an entire arc spanning three epic games around that concept. If you're too unimaginative to realise that, and ungrateful enough to spit in their faces just because you won't have a white wedding with waifus in glorious HD, then really.... stop posting and ruining everyone else's fun.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, however wrong it is, what we have seen so far desn't even qualify as a pig wearing lipstick! But feel free to worship your Christmas tree ending - that's lazy writing at its worst! And the cut scenes are so pitiful as to make dead people puke!

I see this a lot and I don't get it. Yes, people are attached to the Normandy crew, by this point in the story you should be, what is the problem with being upset over their fate when it makes no sense and can't be changed?

There is nothing bad about it, but these people decide to hate on this game, compare it to DA2 (ugh), and give all sort of fallacies to justify why the game sucks, all because they love the normandy crew.

Imo its ok to be sad about the lost of the normandy, i wont mind if bioware changed just that. But overall the endings are brillant. Be angry that you cant finish your romance the best way possible but dont hate on the entire game for it...

BTW i was really angry when i first heard of it cause my LI (Steve) will always stay at the normandy, i would love if bioware saved him but the rest of the game is pretty awsome

My point stands that if there was a way to save the normandy, 99% of complainers here would go away. This is a shallow reason to hate on the entire game

So people have found the flashback files for the VS and liara for the romances, but no one else?

Maybe... maybe the space edition isn't the full game..... Maybe retail copies have the full game.

Doubt it. Why would they make a "special" version of the game? I doubt EA really cares about spoilers.

Because all EA cares about is selling games  And they said they been working on this ending for 8 years. Why would they give out the ending before they release date. It would be like if George Lucus told us that Darth Vader was Luke's Father before The Empire Strikes Back came out..

That is a major sticking point with me, though the Relays being destroyed is also something I'm not all that happy with.  We are fighting to save the galaxy, and we do that by setting it back hundreds if not thousands of years.

Yeah, I really could not care less what happens to most of the people. I just don't want the Normandy to blow......beautiful ship.

Anyway, I'm going to stop reading this thread. I keep getting the feeling that I'm going to keep second guessing myself when actually playing the game.

I think that if Bioware wanted to move away from the Normandy and it's crew. To close the chapter on them too, they could have done somethin better than "lol crash" I would much prefer if they died in battle, at least that way their sacrifice would mean somethin. But then again people would complain about them dyin. It's not a perfect endin for your team, but one can hope things turnout well for them.

Oh, the angst - one wrong move in real life can mess up yours and my life in a heartbeat. Same with BW - and speaking of that Christmas tree ending - you'd have to be a junkie on crack to get a kick on that garbage! Who produced it - BW - so BW - you win all the scorn you deserve!

Sir

Well i say brillant because its by far one the best things were gonna get from video games for the next 10 years. (perhaps not THE best, but compared to 95%  of games out there this one will be amazing)

Well, forgive me for not memorizing ME1 script but he said something like this...

"...you follow the path of the Protheans, using their technology. Thus you follow the path of the relays, the path of the Reapers."

not exact, but fairly close
