One thing I've noticed in this thread over the last few days is how there seems to be so many more people frustrated with the game in general, rather than just with the ending itself. Is there some reason for that?
there are some blaring issues with the game - but because of the writing it can be overlooked for the most part; I can list some of them - biggest issue after ending is - Quest log sucking balls - doesn't update - doesn't tell you about timed missions or that there are even timed missions etc. Its bad - really bad.
2 The romance in the game is afterthought unlike rest of ME series - romance has always been a major aspect - Liara as your love interest? Its a double hammer for you on Thessia*sp* Does she want to talk; cuddle any for her self or you as shepard's wounded pride? Nope barely anything.
Hell if you romanced ME2 extended character IE not Liara or Tali - you just got fooked/fubared/screwed royally. Femshep - romanced Jacob - forget about it - he doesn't want to know you. Jack is only semi ok one - Miranda nope pretty much left on your own.
Beginning - a lot of people had issues with it - 6 months later - dumped not sure what the hell is going on; no real conversation - you've been stripped of your command - *which is bull**** because you weren't acting under Alliance command in ME2 - but if you got your spectre status back - alliance couldn't touch your ass anyways*
Little things that add up - but can be forgive because of how well most of the game is written.....
Well I can't forgive Quest Log because its so freaking bad/bugged.......

OK guys, serious question time:
How did you feel about the fact that you had to choose the ending of your game? Putting aside what the choices actually were, would you have preferred choosing between a set number of conceptually different outcomes with perhaps minor variations on each depending on your strength/game choices (kind of like what we have now), or a 'main' non-chosen ending with a larger number of variables depending on game choices (more like the suicide mission)? Which did you expect?

For me the major problem came when I realized how linear the game was, and how none of the variables you import mattered at all. It's something you can't really tell the first time you play the game. But when I saw all the examples of they discarded pretty much every choice from ME1 and 2, it just filled me with a kind of anger resembling what I felt with the ending.
It prompted the rant in my signature there, which I wrote over a month ago now. I really don't like this game, lol. I just wish it didn't end up going so far as ruining the rest of the series as well, like it did.

I wanted more like a ME2 ending, really.
And honestly, I was expecting something like DA:O, where you would kill the main reaper and they would all die. So when I first heard of the catalyst, I thought we would have to kill him (or the program), so all reapers would die. Kind of like injecting a virus that spread across all the Reapers...

Yep. And also the face import bug, the multiplayer-don't-affect-singleplayer, auto-dialogue, Zaeeded dialogue with your crew (the converasions with Ashley were "I cant talk right now" WTF?!), the N7 side missions (i felt like I was playing multiplayer
In my opinion this game is rushed, unpolished, uncomlete, some parts lazy executed...
My verdict for the game is 5/10.
PS

It's hard to say, only because I told that the ending was supposed to be poor before I got there, and my expectations were tempered. But beforehand, I guess I would say I assumed there was only going to be one way to defeat the reapers, except with variable ways to get there depending on the assets I had. Losing friends and allies along the way. And depending with what I had left, that this would determine whether or not I would succeed, or whether I would die, and such things. And then after this, be shown how my decisions played out in the future of the galaxy.evisneffo wrote...
