Their investors were banking on the possibility that the new people in charge would have better business sense. They were able to successfully run a free-to-play gaming model after all.

The Korean company is Pay-2-win. Even has DLC that you pretty much rent, and have to repay for every month or so.
EA + Nexon would be worse than EA alone. The ending for ME3 is bad now, the ending for ME3 with Nexon would be payed DLC that you'd have to repay to see every month. Plus, it would still suck.

Anyone have any suggestions for a game that will scare the crap out of me? I haven't found one in a long time.

I'm not a huge fan of horror games because most of them tend to be action-based. So if you are into more atmospheric, cerebral horror, I highly recommend:

Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors - it's an older DS game, but well worth finding.
The White Chamber - a free PC game made by some indie folks, but pretty enjoyable.

As for today's Mass Effect news - I'm glad we'll be getting more EDI dialogue. I just hope it doesn't involve her officially dying in torturous fashion after choosing the Destroy option. I never really thought about it before, but it's entirely possible the extended content includes more heartwrenching scenes along with emotionally satisfying ones. I think... I'm okay with that, as twisted as it sounds.

More like synthesis reproduction.  They hold out their fingers and exchange binary handshakes when they touch the tips.... it'll be like the Q reproduction on Star Trek Voyager. :P

Wait, wait, wait. That's a viable business model? In this day and age of copy-pasting? I guess we all know how we'll be getting EA games if this merge goes through...

Omg, please no. My Shepard watched her LI painfully struggle to take his dying breaths. The last thing she wants to see is EDI and Joker getting it on robot-style.

Oh wait, never mind, she dies in the synthesis ending. Binary 'handshake' away kids!

Do we really want a company that makes **** loads of money all because of microtransactions buying EA? I'm pretty sure that's a no from me.

If you thought DLC was bad from EA, this would be the death of videogames as we know them. Imagine playing ME3, and you see the geth pulse rifle lying on the ground. You pick it up, and a screen pops up and says," You've found the Geth Pulse Rifle! Unlock it for only $3.99"

as each day passes I wonder why I chose gaming as my main hobby. I keep looking at that kayak sitting in the corner, thinking maybe I should just toss my PC out the window and just be done with it and get out on the water.

I'm watching the angryjoe review of Star Wars Kinect. He's not even making jokes about it, he's just tearing it apart with as many swear words he can. I love it.

Edit* Is Jennifer Hale in Star Wars Kinect?

Yeah she plays one of the Jedi Masters in it... it's about the only redeeming quality of the game hahah.

I heard her voice in that like 2 second clip and recognized it instantly.

I think my favorite part of Star Wars Kinect would be the Special Needs Rancor Mini-Game. More so just to see people playing it look like ****ing morons

Activision used to be awesome back in the early 2000s.. they made probably 3/4 of my favourite Star Trek games when they had those licences... The Star Trek Armada series came from them, Bridge Commander... so many good memories... Then they got infested with those mind altering bugs and it just went downhill from there :(

The only way you could get away with microtransactions is if the content could be earned in-game for free. And before anyone asks, no, not the "derpty derp, you can get the best ending without playing multiplayer, derp" that the rEApers and BioWare thought would be a great thing to lie about doesn't count. The complete crap shoot that is the reward packs that EA is oh so happy to charge us for, does count. Also, I doubt anyone is goind to seriously pay up to rent DLC. I could see something like that working as a sort of rental option for multiplayer games, so you can try out the mappack without having to make the full investment or rent it for a weekend. From a business stand point, that could work AS A OPTION. Single player wise, it wouldn't work, because the content isn't meant to be played online or temperarally.

Either way, I feel like EA needs new managment. Say what you will about Activision Blizzard, but they never did half the crap the rEApers are doing now. The Infinity Ward case is one thing, but it's not clear cut at all. Bioware and the rEApers on the other hand...
