Was just over on the Ashley forum, where I gladly lurked for a long time. Everyone there is like "I cant wait for an ending with me and her together!!!". If you think the anger here is bad - we are the people already INNOCULATED to the ending. Can you imagine what it will be like for the people who have no idea what's coming and are expecting something less grimdark? WE are going to be the ones calming THEM down.

... oh lord

I don't think Bioware truly grasps the fury they have wrought yet.

This time we will make a impact . I grow more and more sick and disgusted with the endings to this game . I swear if game media sites do not call EA and Bioware out on this . Then I dam sure will

Exactly we are already coming to terms with the way it's going to end - we've gone through the hurt /disappointed stage, we've gone through the anger stage and now we're trying to fill in the gaps explain away/accept.

Those people are going to be heartbroken and some of them are so sure that they will have a happy ending with their love interest (I mean heck even DA2 had this in a text epilogue) and their crew will at least be explained whether they go their separate ways. Mass Effect 2 which was a suicide mission made them think they can come out unscathed from this.

Nothing would indicate to them that this is the ending. They are going to go beserk. How could Bioware have not forseen what a dangerous move this is?

I'm hoping against common sense and logic that the copies of ME3 they launched into space weren't full versions or were at least partially locked.

I'm honestly still trying to understand.

Either they felt like doing an "artistic" ending (on which I call BS), or they wanted to make sure to avoid a "canon" ending in future games, since the endings are pretty much the same.

I'm gonna come back to this thread and laugh at all of you when you find out how much you cried over a distortion of the truth.

Seriously, the game isn't even out yet, but just 3 more days and we will find out the truth about the endingS.

You know what? I don't think I will try to calm them down. Bioware deserves to get an earful for this.

But again, if I'm proven wrong, I will HAPPILY eat my own words.

I have no problem with bittersweet endings, I just wish we were given the OPTION of a happy ending, or even a crapsack "Reapers win" ending. Wasn't the whole selling point of this series the notion that your choices influenced the story?

The sad thing is, those people who don't know how it ends... will think they have done something wrong with their choices and got the worst ending. It's going to be really sad and I'm going to feel really sorry for them. They will come straight on here asking if there is a way to stop the Normandy getting stranded, or they will go on Youtube looking for a better ending. And then most of them are going to feel betrayed.

Are your squadmates on the Normandy at the end or is it just the crew and Joker?

I hope you're right, honestly, I'll be the first one to call myself an idiot for reacting the way I did. But the evidence is not leaving me very optimistic. :)

What exactly do you believe the "truth" may be, and how have you gotten to this conclusion? Seems like we're kinda going on more evidence over here than the optimistic side of the street is.

Oh, the poor dear... And they'll keep her on the Normandy too of course, only to get the Deliverance Planet ending... It's going to be horrible for them. :crying:

Agreed. I'm hoping it was all an epic troll on BW's part.

Call me crazy but I always thought it wasn't about the ending you choose but more about all the choices that you made along the way that results in the ending you get.
That's kinda why all the arguments about the endings seem somewhat odd to me.
It shouldn't be about knowing the endings first then playing in such away that results in the ending you want.
The end to dramatic events arn't always happy and not always the way we wish it could be, in that regard bioware have got it dead on, whether we like it or not that's the way things end up alot of the time and I can accept that.

When the shaaat hits the fan the first thing they will say is "you don't get it, it's art." Not until sales start dropping off on a halflife decay curve as word of mouth gets around will they then be forced to admit, maybe we screwed up. At that point cue the free stuff with purchase, only when that dries up can you expect honest talk.

I have a feeling a few weeks from now the "Take Earth Back" marketing tag line for ME3 will no longer be heard, instead just the word of mouth tag line: "Rent, don't buy."
