There seem to be a lot of people in this thread with good ideas to build games around. We should go build our own game development company! With Blackjack! And Hookers! In fact, forget the Games!.

Guys look at this, just a rumor but looks like ME3 did not meet internal sales expectations. This is pretty much confirmed by them spending money to work on the ending. Companies don't spend money without any clear profit motive unless something is seriously not going to plan. The 2012 Q4 earnings call might mention something officially.

My theory has always been, that if we are to dream, the flatteries of hope are as cheap, and pleasanter, than the gloom of despair.

well said that man

hold the line, keep this epic thread going and we shall get a better ending.

lets start from harby landing at the beam

normandy comes screaming threw the atmosphere straight for harby thanix cannons blazing.
harby roars" YOU CANNOT HOPE TO DEFEAT ME "
joker: oh yah, meet some of my friends
from around the ruins of a tall building fly a quartet of sr1 class frigets, they begin to fight harby.
normandy blows a hole in one of harbys "legs"

back on the ground

shep: theres our way in
* garrus and tali aproach*

garrus: dont think your going in there without us
tali: we started this together.....
garrus: we'll finish it toghether and i'll make us look good doing it
shepard:* nods his head* i couldnt ask for better friends, lets do this

shep and team approach and enter harby fighting there way to his "heart" and setting a mass effect bomb to explode, on their way out they are overwelmed by uber-harby-husks,

shep: get out of here i'll hold them off
garrus and tali together: NO
garrus:we get out together
shep: leave thats an order, finish the job
tali(in a sad voice: yes captain
garrus: its been good shepard
*tali and garrus leave*
shep gives his life fighting wave upon wave of uber-harby-husks(reach style) while his friends escape
harby gets destroyed from the mass bomb*
cgi showing garrus and tali going up the beam activating the citadel witch brings down all the reaper shields allowing the fleets to take them out .normandy lands, all crew come together.

if your ems is high enough as the ruins of reapers burn up in the atmosphere shep walks from behind the remains of harby and joins crew * roll credits*

mass 4 retake the gallaxy with a new hero, cameos from old crew.

thanks to those who gave me the parts to this, and sorry to those who think its rather large.

edit: added a live option Image IPB

damn thats better than what we have now

I honestly don't know what this is supposed to mean. Unless it's a rugby reference, in which case I give myself a pat on the back for getting it.

Apparently the few people who played it in japan called it rent effect, but remember western games are pretty niche there anyway

has anybody noticed the bsn me3 profile game page

The galaxy is at war, and you need help from its every corner! Play to unlock war assets and to gain access to bonus profile photos on the Bioware Social Network.

N7 Special Ops Team
Trained, tested, and tough, the best of the Alliance special forces stand ready to deploy anywhere in the galaxy.
This asset is increased through playing multiplayer in Mass Effect 3. The ops team’s war asset is created when a player reaches level 20 with a class and selects the "promote" command. This resets the level of that class to 1. Subsequent promotions permanently add to the value of the existing asset. There is no limit to the number of times the class can be promoted.
Cerberus Escapees
Play the iPad game Mass Effect: Infiltrator to recruit survivors of Cerberus's secret holding facility. These escapees have learned much about your enemy.
This asset increases your Galaxy at War Readiness Rating based on intelligence drops in the iPad game.

So I just finished my first play though and now I understand why so many fans of this series are so pissed off. I'm sure what I'm about to write has been posted many times before, but after about around 150 hours of playtime getting one Shepard through all three games and many more hours playing other Shepard's I feel the need to post my discontent.

First, all the great characters you couldn't have on your squad in this game. After the epic ending of ME2 with the split squads I fully expected to be able to recruit all my old crew members in ME3. It felt like all the previous character development was thrown out the window and they were reduced to minor plot items.

I couldn't believe there was no way to save Legion, he is forced into suicide no matter what you do. You can't save Mordin without committing genocide. That's no choice at all. There's a difference between being a renegade and a psychopath. Both of these plot points were totally lame. Instead of giving the players choices that mattered you were forced through the game on a rail.

Kai Leng. Are you kidding me? After defeating, Sarin, Geth, Collectors, several Reapers, etc. the first person to get the best of Shepard in combat is some emo looking space samurai? WTH? This clown is Shepards arch nemesis now? Somebody has seen too many matrix movies. His slow mo fight scenes were corny as hell, I was literally rolling my eyes at their cheesyness.

The endings...OMG they were beyond horrible. First the presentation sucked and was annoying. My armor changed to some beat up looking outfit I wasn't wearing and the slowmo over dramatic walking was a horrible way to end any action game. The catalyst is some machine child? You couldn't think of anything dumber then that. All the cool aliens that were invented for this series and this was all you could come up with? Why would Shepard believe one word this thing said anyway? It was controlling the Reapers and trying to wipe out all advanced life in the galaxy.

All the endings were immoral.

Synthesis - Turn everyone into cyborgs? Just assimilate them against their will like the Borg in Star Trek? What if they don't want to be assimilated? Who is Shepard to decide this for the whole galaxy? Every species united to fight the Reapers, not be joined with them. And Joker and Edi ending up as some cyborg Adam and Eve was beyond corny symbolism.

Control - The illusive man was right? The murderer of thousands, maybe millions was right? What's the difference between control and making a slave race anyway? And who's doing the controlling and what gives them the right?

Destruction - Now this was the goal the whole galaxy agreed to. But if you do it you commit genocide against the Geth and end all long distance space travel, probably dooming much of the galaxy in the process. At best your setting all the species back hundreds of thousands of years.

No doubt this was the worst Mass Effect game. It had some fun combat and some good storys but the weak parts drag it down to the point I have no desire to replay it. There should have been some path you could take to defeat the Reapers without committing genocide. There should have been some path to save Shepard. Then there should have been epilogue game play where there was a big victory celebration like the end of Star Wars. Shepard could have gone around speaking to the various characters and tying up story lines. It would have been the perfect segway to expansions or ME4. Somebody really dropped the ball on this game, it's a shame. The first two were epic, some of the best scifi I've seen my entire life.

Welcome to the line!  Cookies and punch in the tent to the left.  Official Marauder Shields Merchandise on sale in the visitor's tent, there's a .50 cal turret over by the toilets if you feel the need to go let off some steam.

I agree with most of what you said, as do probably most people here.  I loved up until the last 10 minutes.

I thought Kai Leng was a horrible character but made sense to a point.  He got his way by cheating through life, he couldn't beat Shepard head on, had to bring down the temple around him/her.  He was the perfect personifcation of Cerberus, they bought/stole their way to power and it enraged people even more because they were legitimately cheated from a fair fight.

I pretty much enjoyed the game, thought it was a masterpiece, up until that beam of light began Shepard's Ascent to the Citadel Kid.   At that point nothing made sense, it didn't follow the rules anymore, it just sucked lol.

What is this?! It's not like everyone has internet access. For example, if you're in college, your school limits your internet, so goodbye college students...that would mean at least 50 thousand potential customers  just from my school (even if you live in apartments, the ones around here limits your bandwith too)

Wow. Way to alienate potential customers, EA. Good job. <_<
