...well that was actually just here in the city I live in lol... in Canada...

That video is incredible... and does point out one good thing about ME3 that actually was good through even the ending: the music.

Some of the music in ME3 just was so emotionally stirring.. both good and bad... Even during the end it brought out tears, even air fist pumps of awesome.  Why did the ending have to suck whhyyyy :crying:

I know!! I can't listen to the soundtrack without getting all sad...

I was telling my friend during dinner tonight about the game. She has played DA:O, and ME1, but she didn't like ME but loved DA:O. Her boyfriend is a ME fan, and she said he has been complaining about the ending ever since he finished the game. She said she was glad she never liked ME, or she would've been po'ed.

Everyone I talk to who knows ME hates this ending...:?

Completely agree. I love the soundtrack, especially 'Leaving Earth'. The piano part still gives me chills.

On the flip side, I can't make it all the way through 'And End Once and For All' because it brings to mind the mass relay destruction and that's kind of depressing.

Oddly enough, the first time I finished ME3, I was angry at the music that kicks up just as the Normandy crash scene ends and plays through the credits. Because it's a great tune, but I did not feel the way it wanted me to feel. If that makes any sense at all.

Thanks! I might have to check out Retribution. Never read any of the Mass Effect books.

Heh. I can't think of anything but the ME3 ending whenever I hear 'In the End' by Linkin Park.

Thank you early thread influences lol

No worries.

If this was the ending song to the game, it would have actually made the ending make more sense, oddly enough.

Someone mentioned that the In The End should be ME3 theme song, and then I said that In the End should be the song playing during the credits, and someone actually made a video of it

It does fit the ending of ME3 perfectly...sadly :crying:

When it comes to the Cerberus thing, I always looked at the sudden shift from shadowy organization to paramilitary group as Reaper influence. In ME2, he was working towards actually stopping the Reapers, just like he said he was. Somewhere between ME2 and ME3 he became indoctrinated, and his methods were suitably altered.

The transition was so poorly shown in the game though. If Cerberus being the ultimate evil was something they were going to force on the story of the game, it could have at least eased in. They instead just hit you across the head with it from the onset of the game. The ambiguous nature of the Ilusive Man's comments throughout the game don't take into consideration what kind of relationship you chose with the organization in ME2. You can't even properly respond to the guy until the very ending of the game, and even barely then.

The decision to make them the main evil focus over the Reapers was not a good one.

Yeah a good piano lead melody is amazing... favourite song from Halo is "Finish the fight" which is the pretty much Piano solo that has drums and electric guitar come in as accompaniment later.

Ironically, the Mass Effect Deception novel was so full of plot holes that Bioware said they were going to pretty much rewrite it..  Guess someone else's artistic integrity doesn't matter as much as Bioware's

*waves at Missy from the Detroit Metro area*

The first two books were okay, but the third one went a bit downhill in my opinion; it wasn't what I'd call "necessary" to the lore, what have you. Kai Leng was a decently-written villain, but he was a two-point-five dimensional creature (a little flat). Definitely better than the one-dimensional hatchet-man we got in the ending, though.

I was talking about Kai Leng, Tim. Not StarBrat. He was so shallow, he didn't even have any mass, and too much of an effect.

Do the books feature Shepard as the protagonist then? That would be weird for me to read since I'm assuming Shepard would be a guy.

I wasn't too keen on Kai Leng as a main baddie in ME 3, so I really hope the Extended DLC includes more Harbinger. Even if it's just to add a few taunts while you're running to the beam. He's too good a villain to be left with the silent treatment.

Come to think of it, if there are more cinematics, I hope they include some current and former squad mates acting Bad*ssfully. Especially Garrus.

No, Shepard is only ever mentioned (and certainly not in Revelation).

Like everyone else here, I definitely missed Harbinger's sheer presence in the game; sure, he's billed as the Reaper that tags you with the lazor, but that's only ever inferred. I would have LOVED a final boss fight in which you fight a Reaper capital ship on foot! That could have been the most epic boss encounter in the history of gaming, and they blew it!

You're right, also, that they should include the squadmates in the final run mission. There's no way any sane military organization would send ONE three-being team of specialists in to take command of an assault like that; they should've done like they did in ME2 and divide Shep's team up into three forces, you pick the best leaders, and whatnot (I could see Javik and Garrus being the obvious choices for "most appropriate" fire team leaders, as in if you don't pick them one of the members dies or is injured or whatever). The London mission was done "fair to midland," but like the end boss it could've been so much bigger!

I clicked on it. Once.

It's basically a portal to putting your multiplayer stats onto some sort of central server and entering into some kind of leaderboard system, near as I can tell (never ventured beyond the first page). Basically a multiplayer version of the "character synch" that the BSN does for your DA:O and DA2 characters.

It would be great if they fix Earth mission too, it was awful compared to the rest of the game, its obvious EA made them release the game before they could polish Earth and the ending .

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there was supposed to be a Citadel mission (why else have all the Citadel War Assets).   You can't add one into DLC, that would have thrown the storyline off unless that "Rescue" DLC was your squad trying to find you sorta thing..

I think we are supposed to assume that everyone else was one the ground fighting somewhere. Shepard does give her final speech to the whole crew. Which makes it even more confusing how they all seem to end up back on the Normandy later.

The Normandy fleeing scene is the one I'm most curious to see how BioWare will handle in the EC. It seems to have confused people even more than Starkid.

Yeah.. that's actually one of the more plausible things surprisingly.  Back in WWII a 22 year old Lieutenant could command a destroyer in the british navy, especially if the 'senior' officers (which on a small boat could have been an LtCmdr) were killed... I'd imagine one thing the Alliance WAS short on was officers.. what being as most were fighting off reapers or building/defending the Crucible.
