So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Reminded me how much I enjoy BioWare's games. Getting a crew of great, interesting characters together and saving the day is still my favorite style of game play. I really, really, really hope the Extended Cut makes the ending feel like something worth fighting for.

Its times like this I wish I had something interesting to say. Also hate the ME3 multiplayer keeps giving me all the weapons I don't want endless amounts of shotguns and pistols
It's like the game checks what weapon you use the most in single player and makes sure you never get it in MP. I go the Claymore of all things from one of the event packs.
So I took the lemons and made lemonade by rolling a Krogan Sentinal. Smashy-smashy!

ME3 was soooo screwed up, so many plot holes, storyline messed right up, a major subplot intergal to the storyline totally retconned (dark energy) things that were supposed to be heavly important to the game gone.
its like they gave it to a bunch of people who have never heard of mass effect and were given a fast run down of the game, its went so bad for EA and its given bioware a TON of unwanted media publiclty WORLD WIDE, its affected sales and this extended cut dlc is REALLY the make or break of bioware.
mass effect had a pure solid storyline and a solid action sections.
fast forward to today, mass effect 3 you REALLY need to do multiplayer to get the best ending you need to do a TON of other stuff to get the best ending a TON of stuff that was NOT in me1 or me2.
IF IT'S NOT BROKE DON'T F**K AROUND WITH IT

I read your first paragraph and was about to equate it to real gambling. Then I saw the 2nd part... and yeah, lol. When you don't even let people choose what they're spending their money on, that might just cause them to keep spending until what they want shows up there.sagevallant wrote...
Meh, the MP is a decent way to pass the time without having to deal with the endings. It sucks that you can't CHOOSE what you want to buy, and the whole thing reeks of desperate attempts to extend playlife, but I'm not sure what anyone was expecting from it. I guess if you had high hopes for something involving and exciting (for some bizarre reason) that you would be disappointed.
I would also call BS on even having the option to pay real money for gamble packs that may not have anything useful in them, but it's not necessary to do so and if people want to buy the only reason to play the thing rather than actually play the thing it's their choice not mine.
I really don't like the idea of the option of spending real life money on such things. It's a way for the developers to make quick money, and for players to shortcut their way to effectiveness. But at least this a co-op game and not a versus one, so you don't actaully go up against the people using said shortcuts to their advantage. Those shortcuts that EA introduced to Battlefield are just wrong.

Hey everyone! Just finished playing ME3 single player to support the on/off thing. Started from the beginning, was pleasantly surprised to see my ME2 face import worked this time, and made it all the way through the Palaven moon mission.

With you 10,000,000% but this whole experience has left me slight more jaded and cynical than I was before. ME should never have needed an Extended Cut, but hopefully this can be salvaged.
Also Props to getting to the Palaven mission I couldn't even get past the Mars mission before I had to switch off and come on BSN to cry maybe reinstalling RTW will help...

Definately do it, that game made me feel a lot better recently after not having it installed for years... the only problem is which roman faction to choose... Red blue or green?

NOOOOOO don't break probably the greatest game of all time for me by linking ME3's ending to it
At least you can use your chosen colour to conquer the world.

Yeah, about that, no matter what order you destroy the rival factions in, and no matter how big you make your armies...
Rome, erm falls in the end, and everything you acomplished is for nothing, and a technological dark age occours...

Whats that? non historical/cannonical playthrough?, but if your re-instaling the game you might not have them unlocked, but do go for it, it is probably the greatest SG of all time. I have been trying some mods for it recently, and you know you like a modding team when the only licence terms are read more history books
Ah well if i've lost the unlocks I guess i'll just have to play the whole thing again

Ye, the licence terms thing was the best part of that particular mod

Well I rarely use it for describing my feelings towards the endings, but I have beaten around the bush so many times with disliked, or disapointed, not up to my expectations when compared to previous instalments, and provoked a negative emotional response within me....

The end of Terminator 3 was better than ME3... and everyone on earth pretty much died in that one.. or were hunted for the rest of their lives by killer robots.

Hmmmm, I am trying to think of a depressing film ending that could come close to me3 to compare it too, but I just can't lol

Given the nature of the content leading up to the ending, I suppose that perhaps the game could have been better served with an alternate ending. Maybe.BigglesFlysAgain wrote...

Nah, Terminator 3 was perfect to compare the whole of ME3 to. It's kind of fun at times, but overall it's pretty lacking in real content. And it does a thorough job going against everything the previous entries were about.
Also the ending is aparently inevitable, when nothing really indicates it needs to be. And then everyone dies.

Have we had a conversation about what endings were better than that of ME3?
Well, being shot to death in red dead redemption was better, drowning in LA noir was better, being frozen in space in halo was better, Crawling around some rubblle in the middle east before dieing in the american MW campaign was better....
Oooops, retroactive spoiler alert there lol
