I gave it a 8 before the ending and a 5 with the ending.Time for shower and bed.Night all and hold the line/wallet.

10/10 before the ending, 1 out of 10 for the ending, had to give it a 4/10 total based on the fact it wasn't 'okay' based off their scale..

It just hit me again that they completely BLEW the franchise in 5 minutes because they rushed it out the door... If I were Bioware I'd be so upset at EA right now... they killed their reputation, irrepairably with some people in 5 minutes... and for a game that most would have called one of the best series' on the Xbox 360 up until that last 5 minutes... that's sad...really sad. :crying:

I feel the same way. Every time I look at ME, I just think to myself "God, why..." and get depressed:(.

I just...

Hold the line!

Well I went into this an unapologetic fanboy.. so this had that going for it right from the start, it was amazing up to that point.. Conrad Vernier pushed me to best game ever just because, at the time, the minor character there actually had an impact, a hilarious, amazing, wow impact that really was only war assets.. but the fact they gave it time just amazed me.  I didn't think the UPS quests were that bad... mind you I spent most of ME2 probing planets to the point some of them got restraining orders against me.

I didn't really like the holographic farewells there... it felt like "you weren't good enough to have us actually show up for you despite this being the culmination of everything you've spent the last 3 games doing.. but hey, we send our regards" sorta thing.

Ahm, obsessed fangirl over here? :D

I swear all I did ever since the release date was announced was countdown to it.

I hated scanning planets in ME2. Thank god everything carries over when you import your character for a NG+.

Holographic farewells? I couldn't care less about my ME2 crew

Ok, except Grunt. I guess Jack is...ok. And Miranda won me over later. Everyone else I cared about was dead (Thane, Legion, Mordin), so...  (kind of wish I could kill Jacob...)

Plus by the time I got to them, I was too sad over Kaidan farewell that I didn't even care what they said; depression over the horrible ending had took over me....(since, you know, I knew what they were going to be)

If you know where the money is going, and how development is evolving it's a lot harder to get pissed at the final product when you get an idea of how far along the game is. I'm pretty sure if fans knew that Mass Effect 3[/i] wasn't properly ready to ship and the ending wasn't in place, I can't imagine gamers saying "Ship it anyways!" most people this gen have come to terms with accepting delays if it means a better overall experience and a more polished product. However, big publishers don't ever give us that kind of insight unless the press push for it.

This is something that I think if BioWare just told us about it. Just said "yes, sorry we shipped a bit too early" or "no we really did ship ontime and we were all happy with the product" we'd be placated in some ways. Why not? We're a community here we can handle it, go ahead and tell us!

Haha, I went with Liara, Miranda, Liara... in my main playthrough, so I never saw half the other stuff... I suspect that's part of it though, they obviously went with whomever most with with statistically to ensure they got the most out of the game... really I would have been okay waiting another year for them to actually give everyone else their stories.. but I didn't notice the lack because I went with the same characters, just different choices for my LIs... I suspect if I'd picked Thane it might have been a lot worse..

Anywho I need to head to bed.  Hold the line, nite :wizard:

The game was too short, and yet incredibly padded still. There were no real side quests, no exploration, nothing. A
few great moments do not a great game make, imo.

On one hand, I understand it would have felt weird to run off exploring when the galaxy is at stake, every minute thousands of beings die and all that.

There are a few wonderous moments seeing the Tuchanka ruins of old, but almost everything else is or quickly becomes rubble. From a practical story perspective I get it, but selfishly I really missed more in-depth exploration too.

And... (sorry it's late and I'm rambling too much) it's also why suddenly losing the Citadel made me far more upset than losing Earth ever could. I've spent hundreds of hours wandering around the Citadel, it felt like Shepard's home. Yes, watching kids in sunflower fields or clasping miniature Normandy ships get ganked by Reapers is not good, but thinking about Bailey, already wounded, fighting off waves of husks is worse. Yeah, I'm an awful person.

Losing the citadel should've had an impact, but it was so poorly, and so suddenly implemented that it made no sense.

As for exploring while the galaxy is turmoil, I agree that done poorly it doens't make much sense. But that's exactly what happened here with this game. Spending time getting banners and books as the everything is going to ****. It was padding, and nothing more. They could've given us a reason to go around and properly do things, but we didn't get that.

The whole game actually lost me on the element of the Reapers. Towards the end I was just like "Oh yeah, Reapers. I forgot they were in this game. Wasn't earth invaded by them or something? I forget. Maybe we should get somebody on that. I'm to busy running around the Citadel trying to find someone to eavesdrop on."

There was an article that suggested that, for all it's profits, EA is spending WAAAAY more money than Activision. Boasting big profits while neglecting to mention costs. That they might be a little less than financially sound. I wouldn't be surprised if they were hoping ME3 would make their numbers for the quarter look better.

Disturbing rumors.

Anyway, have a listen to this, just tell me what you hear, no need for discussion, I'd just like to hear how you interpret the audio?

Hours late I know, but to me this sounds like the Shadow Broker ship when the lightening is hitting the plates. Or the bit at the end on the Citadel walking to find Anderson.

Haha, it is a very long thread to follow. I probably ignored about 1000 pages or so. Maybe more. It is always good to see that Bioware isn't ignoring this thread (even if you are from the DA team).
But everytime I come back and see a Bioware sign on this thread, I can't help but think we are in trouble..

At over 3600+ pages, the only way I could see anyone getting in trouble is if they started ostensibly violating forum rules.  Which no one ever appears to be doing in this thread.  For the most part it reads like it's people meeting up for a daily coffee.

Well technically Allan that is violating the rules. But a moderator would have to be stupid to enforce that rule and that rule only on this particular thread. It's the support group for the entire forum and would ****** way too many people off. It might even make the news.

However apparent immunity should not be abused so I'll remind this thread again to try and avoid frivolous discussions in the interests of self-preservation.
