I can't remember which article it was, but it mentioned 'evangelist gamers' and how they are the essential part of any good game franchise. Anyone happen to have a link to that article? Or remember which one it was?MeldarthX wrote...
I can easily tell you this - like any damn good gamer - if you build a damn good game; then treat your customers like you should and right.......We will defend you completely........
Its a damn good lesson that a lot of studios need to learn. While I normally have a rule with Bes to only buy their games after 5 patches; game of the year version or first community patch. I buy them; why they listen and actually show they listen. ProjeckCD is the same......Witcher was awesome game; so is Witcher 2.
That is the listens folks - now do you wish to go for extra credit?
So we can't get the ending we want after all?

An unfortunate attitude, though it seems some developers have realised the current insta-cash-microtransaction model will kill their livelihood. I just wish the bigger companies got it too, preferrably before it's too late to save gaming industry. <_<g_bassi13 wrote...

So I didn't feel like making a new thread, but here's a shining example of developer treating their fans/customers with respect (even when they're stupid) and most of all, honesty.

It's regarding the personal story of Guild Wars 2, by lead writer Bobby Stein, regarding the recent beta. Scroll down to posts by BitRotten if you can't access the forums.
Hopefully this doesn't get the thread purged.

CD Projekt Red, makers of the Witcher games. We had this conversation about how awesome they are to their customers a couple pages ago. No DRM on their games, huge content patch for Witcher 2 FOR FREE, go out of their way to treat customers right, etc.
