Actually watched it all. Typical kind of industry talk. Wannabee comedian. A few good points later on.

Agreed!  Just finished it myself, still miffed about the snobby attitude towards non-game developers...  but I guess that's probably a british cultural thing?

I enjoyed the EA as a business part, I really don't think he's been in the marketing meetings haha...I work for an amazing company... and yet I know some of the management make decisions that are in our best interest, not always our customers... which is to be expected... however EA makes the majority of their decisions in their short term best interest at the EXPENSE of their customers.  He's naive if he thinks that EA doesn't try to determine the ROI on a game before they green light it.  It's the whole Profit at the expense of quality that MAKES EA evil.. not us thinking they actually physically sit in a boardroom and shapeshift into demons.

...also we routinely have goat sacrifices at my work.. it keeps the HP Printers working... you'd be surprised the havoc when we miss a sacrifice :pinched:

What got me was the "unless you have made/make video games your opinion doesn't matter"
So if thats the case why should I spend my money on something you hope I'll along with millions of other gamers will  buy. Obviously we play a key role whether or not something is successful, but our opinions don't matter..... so whose fault is it when a game bombs? Ours?

Am I stupid or is something VERY wrong with that?

That escapist video thing...

I watched about 30 seconds or so and turned it off; the man was an idiot, plain and simple.

It's his kind of attitude that is prevalent in EA, and why I will never spend a single dime on them ever again.

Gamers have no right to criticize? Ummm...ok, well then I guess you don't need the hundreds of millions of dollars we line your pockets with. Ahh well.

I already knew most game developers had no respect for their customers. Wasn't much of a surprise to me to hear it from EA/Bioware. That's why I don't buy games on release day anymore. I'll do everything I can to buy it for cheap. I exclusively play on pc so it's harder for me, but Ebay international sellers are a good place to start.

Plus I just found a Mosin-Nagant for 100 dollars, so my mood is pretty good.

Decent price if it's a numbers matching 91/30. Great price if it's anything else.

If its in good shape it is certianly worth it. I know mine is, the thing is a tac-driver for a 70 year old gun. I routinely put out 3-4 inch groups at 150 yards with it.

Well a good mood is a great thing.^_^

Also I knew that too, but being that we are the people who
keep them in business I feel as though that respect should be part of the basis
for why they make games, yes their amazing talent has to do with it as well,
but without people to spend money on this things then all that talent doesn't
mean crap.

So respecting those gamers who play a role even if they
don't have any role in development is very important. Alot of us aren't saying
critical things to be mean or to disrespect your vision. We want a product we
can be proud to spend money on. Not all of us are going to bend over and take
it because you say it’ll be amazing. We judge a game when we play it and if it’s
not up to par with your other works we speak with our money.

So in the end we matter because it’s what’s in our
wallets/purses/pockets that tells whether or not we will support you. Saying we
don’t matter because we don’t work in the industry is.. well it’s a very stupid
thing to say.  There are some things we shouldn’t
have a say in true, but being critical isn’t one.

Respect is a two way street  and you respect the people who are WILLING to
go out and spend money a few hours/days of entertainment  and we show you respect buy continuing to
buy  your stuff and telling you when it’s
not up to par.  Don’t expect thinking
consumers to kiss your *** and say something is amazing when it is not.

I really am disappointed in that kind of attitude even if it’s
nothing new , and I wish some consumers would really look at how some people
view them then take a stand with their money.

I’m repeating myself here but, it’s because it’s very important
to me.

Nah it's good.. I hadn't seen it.  Sometimes we need to be reminded that the line has to occassionally make more noise to ensure the people that came over to see what the fuss was about don't get complacent and walk away.

It's frightening to see a culture where your customers have no say/valid opinion in the design of the product they're buying... he made comments about "What will we do now that we can release art and have instant and permanent feedback"... and almost inferred it shouldn't affect the product.. where as some of the greatest novellists in history did exactly that.. they'd release short stories in the medium of the time (newspapers) and then change it later... I'm sure if we went further back we'd find the same thing in earlier mediums.. think of the tale of Robin Hood.. I'm sure it was embellished to make it better for audiences.

It is a 91/30, and it's in great shape. My brother in law bought one not that long ago, and I had a go with it. I haven't fired a gun in years, but it was dead on. Had to get one for myself.

I'd love to link to it on some of Bioware employees' twitter pages to show them why we feel disconnected, but I'd probably catch slack for "attacking" them.
