I was lurking the interwebs, and i stumbled upon something totally random but kind of interesting.
Am i crazy, or this drawing of H.R. Giger's Sil from the movie Species is eerily similar to the Banshee designs? Even up to the fact that, in the movie, the creature tries to get pregnant, and the Banshee displays advanced pregnancy. I smell shenanigans.

Tis kind of similar, but the I doubt they copied it, all they needed to do was tell an artist, make an asari look horrific and thats what they did

Those were examples of literaly copy and pasting somthing else into the game, if anyone from bioware had copied those designs they still had to build character models, sound and animation.
I think its unlikely they copied them becuase the banshee is just a scary asari and it fits the brief of make the asari look scary/reaperfied

There are many ways to make a huskified Asari horrific, it's odd that it looks so much like some of the work of H.R. Giger. I think it's more likely that someone wanted inspiration to make an horrific female-alien character, and they went to check the works of the master at creepy designs. Beside, it's not like they hadn't taken designs from the internet and other works. Just think of Tali's picture...BigglesFlysAgain wrote...

I don't really like any of the designs for Reapers. Marauders all look like Saren, Cannibals look like balls of clay with arms and legs, and the Rachni are just weird. They're supposed to be scary but you just take them down so easily that it's hard to be afraid of the basic types. Banshee sure, kinda scary. Brutes, bad at first but you'll quickly get their patterns down.

That's why i thought it added more to the fact: why would they make a Ardat-Yakshi pregnant? I just felt it was weird, to have a creature with a similar design from a renowned artist, who spends the lenght of the film trying to reproduce, killing people through it, and have the Banshee mysteriously appear pregnant. I guess i'm looking too deep into it. Oh, the details...Major Swift wrote...
