I don't think they intentionally did the ending to incite mass anger, but that's not really the point. They've made dozens up dozens of decisions in this game that came at the direct expense of the players. Whether or not this was for budget or time constraints is irrelevant. The problem is that they're trying to tell me that this is the best they can do. Whether they're lying and they actually believe it, or that is a new real top limit for the company is also irrelevant, because both have poor implications.

What's happening is we're not getting the full product, and the people responsible for that are talking down to me for expecting to much. It's a freaking gong show is what.

As I've said; they did do it on purpose - ran out of time - leaked scripts.  etc.

They knew they were going to upset people; they said it themselves - Casey said he wanted to polarise the audiance......everything that's been said until now - tweets -  The good doc's blog......

They most likely calulated like this 25% roughly upset - 50% in different and about 25% happy.  If the numbers had been like that.  We'd be getting the EC still - but most likely a little later than we are now - also  I still think it would of been for free also.

This honestly is the only way any of this mess makes any sort of sense - way they won't answer about IT; how information and a lot of disinformation is being put out - things are changing.  Some said; nope not going to change the endings; just add clairifaction - others have said there will be added game play; endings are not changing.  Which came mean many things - I think there will be some clarifaction; but there will be post ending DLC too.  Mike's tweets about if people knew what we were working on; they'd save ME forever.  Also he alluded too they've been working on EC all along from before ME3 was released. 

Also given the fact that ME3 SP team still haven't had a vacation/holiday after releasing ME3 - Normal releases - once the game goes gold - the teams working on it go on holiday/vacation usually up to a month possilby longer - when they come back is when they start working on items and such.

Also remember - the guy that leaked the MP DLC was completely spot on - he then leaked "the truth" ending dlc.  I completely believe this is going to happen.  Remember MP DLC was round aboutly confirmed; the truth has around aboutly confirmed too before EC was announced.

Only thing anyone said about the truth dlc - was a tweet.....do you think we'd name a dlc that??  that's all

When the terminator dlc leak hit leading to mass shift?  They shut down that rumor so fast - Casey came on the forums; twitter - ME3 on twitter all saying its BS; its not happening  no way.

If the truth dlc wasn't true they would of said the same thing......they haven't.......they haven't even really dismissed it.


Can they admit what they tried to do?  It was brillantly insane but failed due to several things; they tried not only to indoctrinate shepard but us as their fans into chosing different endings than we normally would.  Sadly I doubt they will ever admit it; though if they did admit this - a lot of faith would be restored.....

The bit about the "mystery" was odd, but all they're doing here is trying to cover their tracks, so making sense isn't exactly a priority. At first I assumed they had to have recorded that before the game was released and people got angry about the Tali reveal. Because I didn't think they would try to pass that explanation knowing that people were already agitated.

And then I remembered they said the exact same thing at the PAX panel, and then I lol'd.

Just heard some tragic news. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 just got canceled again, and GSC Game World shut its doors permanently. Another great developer that focused more on it's fans instead of money grubbing gone for good.

I guess the only way to survive in the gaming industry is to sell your soul and make terrible copy/paste games. Does anyone ever think it's gamers fault we've let this happen? Maybe it's the people buying Madden every year even though it's the same game. Or the people who bought 8 copies of guitar hero, or complaining about 20 dollar COD map packs, and then buying them anyways.


And that background image that they stole for the star gazer scene is a disgusting, lazy practice. They should feel ashamed that they actually think they are artists for stealing other people's work.

I have to hand it to you, you have amazing stamina. As a woman I can bear a grudge until the day I die, but still to be in that fresh, harsh and sharp stage of anger after all this time... That's special right there.

i still have problems with both of these things, first, that tweet was poorly worded (the alluded one) and not what i think he was trying to say/getting at in 140 characters (they had the ideas of it but they weren't actually already working on it pre-release, twitter is horrible for getting things across) and the MP portion of the truth thing was correct the rest was just made up IMO, plus i think it was Microsoft who accidentally leaked the MP thing in the first place before the "truth" thing came up anyway, unless im thinking of something completely different, i think i just don't want it to have been planned all along because pissing off as many people as they did just doesn't seem worth it/make sense for them to do

s.t.a.l.k.e.r canned again FFS the first one was awesome.

actually most game studios that shutdown normally make 1 good game then take to long to make the second one

duke nukem forever is a prime example.
they made duke nukem 3d and was a smash hit, then they started making duke 4ever BUT they kept changing the game engine kept changing the script kept changing EVERYTHING then the studio went bust and the duke nukem IP was then bought over.

studios dont close because of what the fans want, look at half life and the gta series, the fans wanted more in them and the game studios were very happy to oblige.

if you make a smash game make sure you actually listen to fans and not interparate what they want (are you really listening bioware)

bioware gave us what THEY thought we wanted but it worked out wrong.

game studios are also owned by some publishers, the company that made s.t.a.l.k.e.r were part owned by THQ.
STALKER 2 was canned in december 2011 AFTER THQ pulled funding because THQ was near bankrupt.

i find it disgusting that publishers who DO NOT make the game are able to control an indipendant game studio.

now we know why EA are buying up ALL the smaller game studios..........just to get there grubby dirty hands on game IP's, hell did you know EA canned burnout paradise 2 just to have criterion make the god awful burnout crash, seriously, the amount of cash EA spent on making that crap game was crazy, compaired to sales of the game were LUCKY criterion was not shutdown.

but we ALL know criterion ARE now making a follow up to burnout paradise.

I just don't trust em anymore man. To me everything they say is taken with a heavy dose of salt. I don't trust them at all.

That whole "You wouldn't sell your coppies if you knew what we had planned" Could have just been him lying.

"We wanted the ending to polarize" could have been a fairly weak attempt to defend these endings since it was their finished product.

The misinformation, evasion, disinformation, its just them trying to divert the negativity they were facing (ultimately failing to do so)

furthermore if this was "planned" and they had these "predictions" 25 25 and 50 that you mentioned then they might be hoping that EC DLC is gonna be enough to molify 25 percent and not the overwhelming 90% of people that are pissed. In other words they might be hoping their original plans are gonna be enough rather than revising everything entirely to face this "development"

I think the lack of communication right now is the biggest issue most of us have with what is going on.  I mean if they would just come out and say something, right now preserving the surprise is hurting them more than building the suspence for the EC.  All I think it's doing is building more doubt in what is going to happen, instead of what it should be doing, which is make us excited for it.

I really belive that if the ending was always going to be their final say on the matter they would have attempted more comprehensive explanations than just posting on twitter that" no one starves" or "Is he?". Its just their best laid plans of mice were put into the woodchipper by everyones reaction. What those plans (appart from EC) are  is anyones guess.

I don't think the EC is a 100% fresh reaction to ending critisisms, it might have altered in scope or timing, but the mass (lol) its being shaped from is the same...

I am still pretty annoyed about the game... I am no longer sad though... just angry... but a nice sarcastic understated anger of course...

No MS didn't leak anything about MP - it was guy on chan4 - next day he leaked about the truth.......the pictures he put out for the MP - everything he said about it; we've gotten completely......

As I said; on paper it looked like a insanely brillant plan - I ran it by my dad who was a CFO - EX VP of a major fortune 500 company - he was the number 2 - he used to tell the CEO no you can't do that LOL.

He said - actually on a paper it would look like a good plan - it would have risk - of course; but if pulled of it would be major PR victory - but he also said major issue with it - is customers as you never know how they will truely react.

That's why if you look at the good Doc's blog; when he said - they were surprised by the outcry - he meant; they were generally surprised on how many disliked it......

There is a lot more I can list that keeps this going; but Mike did say on this tweet - they've been working EC before the game release -

Well, their handling of the whole thing has been a joke. When you look back, you do have to kinda laugh at how poor it's been.

Well for me the anger towards the game runs deeper than just at the ending. So the anger burns brighter, but it will turn to complete and total apathy towards Bioware a whole lot quicker.

I understand what you're saying - I think some of the ending EC has been changed to incorporate some of the ideas that have been sub - but like I said its my theory - some like it - some see merit in it; but disagree

I think BW would come clean - but either EA has said no - or because of how big the PR blacklash is they are afraid of more if they do.....which again I think the op would happen.

if i saw a tweet that said that flat out then maybe lol  as it is now it was kind of one of their speciality tweets of say something that could mean different things from various points of view, im not sure i could believe they were surprised at the number of people that would be hating it though as if i were them i would have known a huge chunk of people wouldn't like it/known how alot of people would react at the ending haha, you've got a solid viewpoint though/a good one, even though i disagree  (mainly because i think it would just be horrible to find out they did this to us all on purpose as all the hell its caused can never be undone lol)
edit: though there are some lies with the MP thing as well, SP part makes no sense either (wouldn't expect anything less from 4chan ) "One race that isn’t shown is the Prothean Adept and Vanguard"

I doubt they would either way.

Myself, like many others, would see this as them shipping an incomplete product. I play games as entertainment. I didn't pay money to finish the game a year later when they decided to release the "true ending." I definately did not pay for an artistic experimentation.

So bottom line, they may have had a brilliant marketing idea, but many people would not appreciate being taken along for the ride. It's not they were promised or paid for. That would mean annoucing it would cause just as much of an uproar.
