At some point in the game Shepard explains to Conrad Verner this. After this technology upgrade the guns are more powerfull and by replacing the thermal clip you can use the weapon instantly instead of waiting the weapon to cool down which it makes sense I think. ;]

Yeah, even shepard does not seem totaly convinced when he explains it to verner, even bioware knows its silly, but its just trying to explain a gameplay change designed to make the game more accessable to shooter players...

Besides,we don't get the benifit of the more powerful guns given the RPG nature of the combat, especialy with sniper rifles where you might as well be using a breach loader with all the times you have to load the darn tings...

I take it you don't use the magical, wonderfull reload cancel method?
It'd be fun to see the codex try to explain that away

I would like to see the codex explain the RPG combat , I would really like a "realism" mode where enimies have casual health but do insanity or higher levels of damage... but maybe I am missing the point... Or maybe when they realease their inevitable first contact war FPS we will get it then  dam cash cow....

At least we'll always have ME1..

I'm still around and lurking, but I definitely need variety, been editing some videos for my iPad video wallpaper, found a real nice one called rain on glass, the iPad becomes a window you view the rain through,
