Speaking of bars and drinks in the game. Anyone notice that in Mass Effect 2 you get three bars each with their own little side story and all. Yet in Mass Effect 3 you just get the one bar that already had the drink lying out for you? There's no Ryncol hangovers. No poision attempts. No Matriarch Aethyta.
They give you one Hub world, but they can't even bother to actually flesh it out.
That's because Matriarch Aethyta was on the Presidum serving drinks and keeping an eye on her daughter for the Matriachs back home.
Oh I know. I'm just saying there was indeed something that came with each bar. And I really liked that. There's a lot of detail with small things in there. That bit where the Batarian bartender tries to kill you, and you manage to survive with the option to now force him to choke on his own poison... that was awesome. For as short as that sequence was, it was immensely gratifying. Similar things were near absent in ME3
The only thing you get is those stupid situations where you eavesdrop on two people arguing, and then pick a side. There's absolutely nothing to them, and they don't give you a chance to shape you character as your own. Almost nothing in this game does.
And I do give them credit for following through on the setup from the Aethyla storyline from ME2, but it's only one of a few they bothered with.
