I did cancel it and with GW2 being released at some point it's hard to see myself going back. Maybe they should've just made it a SP game rather than a MMO.

Sadly not. I keep checking their website as I thought they'd planned to do one every month prior to release.

I'm at the moment reading Karpyshyn's Darth Bane trilogy, and so far it seems readable, though I have this uneasy feeling in my gut that it might evolve into "I was so wrong, the dark side is eeeeebil", but I'll enjoy slightly more objective look on the Dark Side while it lasts.
Agreed, but SW is full of other dangers to destroy good writing (and there is plenty of not so good writing too). So far I have only seen one author even mention the idea of there not being ultimately good or evil side to the Force, and even he just mentioned it (since playing Jedi isn't his MO, he focuses on the rest of the galaxy more, an appreciatable trait). Most of Old Republic explorations tend to be monochrome, more clear cut than a fairy tale and utterly boring, if they're readable at all <_<Tyion133 wrote...

As an idea in general, or as the idea the unskilled and untalented SW writer have presented? Most of those tend to write about OR period. Anything involving Exar Kun jumps to mind...Goodwood wrote...
I would have to say that Karpyshyn is a better game writer than he is a novel writer. And that's going by the Mass Effect books seeing as I couldn't care less about Darth Bane's story (not to mention a general disdain for the dark side).
