lmao who wants to go into business and set up a plot armor shop with me selling various levels of plot armor?GroverA125 wrote...
I trust that it's Starchild-Grade plot armor? None of that noncy Soap Mactavish plot armor for those cheap people who can't afford it. This stuff can stop an entire >60,000-man opposition. Only the best for my fellow line-holders!
So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Ok I will sum up the capabilities of my plot armour...
Generates a luck field, that increases the chances of doing unlikely things (at the expense of minor characters around me sadly!)
Increases the chances of attacks missing or doing little damage
Deus Ex Machina dispenser, creates new characters out of the blue to rescue me or save me from harm when other safeguards fail
Also laconic response book,so I am never left without somthing to say at crucial moments

In response to both your questions.... one does simply not buy plot armour, it is written in to his very core... Of course it can be written out of the core if the author wants to kill the character off, but it is a very dark ritual... involving blood sacrafices to the dark and Evil Angrymen
Plot armour is part metaphysical, and partly expressed in the skills and equipment a character utilises, so for example an equaly skilled and equiped character can die easily becuase they don't have the metaphysical component of the armour, while a character with only the metaphysical component is just badly written, and no one wants to read about him anyway so he might as well be dead... It takes both parts to complete a set of plot armour.

I never much liked the Spartans. Though their propensity towards kicking people off cliffs and into bottomless pits is quite admirable.BigglesFlysAgain wrote...

lol yeah, i put in the comments what was my exact first reaction which was "maybe theres something better if i beat it on NG+" and then went to WTF+did something wrong, and thats just terrible isn't it, An ending where your first thoughts are "i must have done something wrong" instead of "awesome!" it shouldn't ever feel that way unless you DID do something wrong lolLestatman wrote...

edit: hell i even thought saving that fish in ME2 throughout ME3 was going to bring something miraculous when that was a popular rumor, nope just a choice between more power damage or weapon damage

Yeah, I am not really a proponent of Laconophilia, 300 is awesome and all, but really the spartans were not nice people, Ironic that they fight for freedom in that film when they were the biggest slave owners in ancient greece, but oh well.

Though I completely understand that reaction, when I played I thought it was pretty clear that this is what they intended after I saw it. That's what made my initial reaction to what I was seeing as pure rage. I didn't have to check it out on the web to make sure, and I had no interest to disect it further (funny how that worked out I guess). And I didn't need to see the other options, as I was certain they would contain the same degree of bull**** as the first one (I didn't realize it was literally the same until I saw it for myself much later).Lestatman wrote...

So I guess WTF would be the closest of those options, but in actuality is was a lot closer to FU.

Thats what happend in that engangement lol, destroyed or captured the rest of the american fleet but my smaller ships were in no shape to chase down the Constitution, and obviously the victory is a little portly for such a role, so she lived to fight another day...

I'm starting to wonder if there is any point to ME2 as far as ME3 is concerned. Still trying to find out if destroying/saving the Collector Base has any repercussions in ME3.
